Greetings my friend! You’ve gone big time! Now you’re the international man of BMW! We can tell people we knew Josh when he just started!! Look at him now! Great video and I have to wipe my face to get all the drool off!! Cheers, George
The thing missing from the tool kit isn't actually missing. It is slot for some electric window crank adapter that came on E23, E28 and some other cars that used the small tool kit shelf as the E30.
Nice! You started your first european driving experience where I used to live for about 10 years (on the left side of the Rhine in Cologne, near the Türmchenswall and Theodor-Heuss-Ring). You made it over the Zoobrücke without getting "blitzed" by the radar controls, and drove over the Autobahn A3 to the A4 around and back to Cologne. And at some point you also went very close to the place where my early model zinnober-red BMW E30 is parked inside its garage. Very nice to see these familiar places in your video!
The B3 2.7 is the renamed C2 2.7....the same car. In Alpina speak the C's were the junior cars (C1 2.3, C2 etc) and the B's were the serious versions. Alpina renamed it as a B3 to make it appear more serious. 😂 Catalyst versions used a standard 325i camshaft so are very down on power (about 10-20 bhp) - you need to get the lid off and check the numbers on the cam. A Schrick cam is a good alternative to the NLA Alpina cam. All Alpina 2.7 engines used the 324td forged steel crankshaft and not the 2.7 Eta crank. All 325i 2 door and 4 door cars had the battery in the boot. 23:19.....the sign of a very rich owner: a set of new Michelin TRX!
where do you find all your information on Alpina? I've always admired the company and looked for any relevant info I can find on engine modifications and specifications.
As a 6 year old in 1993 NYC . First car I can remember was my dad's 1976 BMW 2002. So when I see a 1600 convertible and a E9 convertible. I'm loosing my mind 😱 . Be honored to be a caretaker of a vintage bmw
Lovely collection, happy you got to experience driving on the Autobahn. Last time I visited in Germany in 2014 I was there for my 17th birthday visiting family so legally I wasn't allowed to drive there yet lol. But I did get to ride in Mike Edler's orange E30 M30. That was a fun ride late at night without traffic letting the S14 do its thing in it's natural habitat lol.
Sytner BMW in Nottingham also built C2.5 and C2.7 in the UK. I thought all saloon and coupe 325i had the battery in the boot. My dad 1989 4 door and the battery was in the boot. My 1990 325 touring had the battery in the engine bay
This channel should have at least double if not triple the subs. Top BMW content. Diamantschwarz is the most sinister BMW paint IMO - made popular by E30. In USA, diamantschwarz paint on the E36 needed to be special ordered, believe it came as a standard option in Europe. That ///M6 at the end also appears to be in diamantschwarz.
wow what a great video josh i wasnt expecting this congratulations on your new purchase mate im soo excited for you looking forward even more on some more great contents 🙂
Very nice e30, i was watching videos about building like the cathedral that you were at... search up Tartarian theory, interesting stuff lol... goodluck with the alpina bro
Wow, nice Alpina! Sounds glorious. Some seriously exotic classics in that warehouse. You should purchase the white M5 e34 dude, it's got your name all over it! 😎
Man I’m jealous😂. It looks like you’ve landed in some kind of car heaven. Honestly your Alpina is the most interesting of them all. Impressive collection but there aren’t really any cars there that you would like to take out on the open road.
I live in Cologne too and yesterday saw a Alpina E30 Cabriolet on the street, if someone whants photos let me know. Pd, how can i contact the bmw group here in Koln Josh? Thanks
Hope u found a small free stretch of Autobahn where u could gun it at least alittle bit... That was like driving miss daisy. But yeah traffic sucks here too. Not what it used to be....😔
Really cool to see all those cars together, but a shame they don't get driven. Especially the M1 with a specially built motorsport engine, to only drive that around the block and park it just feels wrong.
Extremely cool. Glad that you got to drive that sweet Alpina and see the cars in the warehouse!! How did you find driving in Europe compared to the US?
You’re missing the alpina part. Its not a eta motor, its a factory stroked 2.5 to 2.7 no eta components, all 2.5 components upgraded. Makes 204hp. Compared to a 325e that makes 129hp
@M3nameisjosh Congratulations on this Alpina. Serial number 0260 COOL !!! I have the serial number 0261 and I have contact with the previous owner. Very nice guy. Take good care of your car. Alpina B3 is and remains very rare.
Great car. Was in Germany a few years ago. That plate he gave you is not original to that E30. That’s a later modern style German plate identified by the blue stripe. These came out around 1997. Prior, the German plates would not have the blue stripe, indicating the country designation. I’ve yet to see anyone at any Euro car show install a period correct Euro plate…. They all are later country designation blue stripe plates. Look up 80s early 90s BMW AG factory photos….. all older style plates, no stripe.
Oh well then Im wrong its the 2nd owners plate that lived on this car since he got it. If you look up alpina archive for this car #262 the plate is on it!
Pah, it´s only a 911 Targa F-series with original Fuchs wheels, whatever... 🙈🙊🙉 But within this collection i probably wouldn´t have spend much time with it either tbh. 😅👍 Oh and btw, i will put a curse on everyone that was involved in the kidnapping of this car from my hometown! 😶
