For those having trouble with the bolt backing out, if you have big hands you can hold the pulley. Otherwise I put the belt on after it was started so that the belt keeps the pulley from spinning.

Doing this now but main issue is the nuts to re-install both turn the same way. Meaning same thread direction internal of the pump as the installation tool.
Zero way to hold 1 end and turn the nut in to tighten..
Anyone have this issue before.
I've done these before and never had this big of an issue reinstalling
Well the tool is $240 to rent so it looks like I'm going to be making the tool. Do you know the thread pitch and bolt length?
If i'm trying to hold the bolt still and tighten the nut it just ends up unscrewing the bolt instead, any special tips on this?
screw the bolt in, then tighten the nut so it locks down , then hold the bolt still, as you tighten the nut. are you using the correct puller. it should be the one with the larger lip so it goes around the pulley hole.
@@thomasbriansavingmoney I'm just trying to install the pulley but it feels like I'm struggling to get the bolt to stay inside the pump since it unscews itself when i try to press the pulley on

wait, no this is that one.
do not grease the threaded area. just around the slide shaft area. make sure you are tighting the bolt real tight in the threads, before you start running the nut down.

My main bolt keeps unscrewing itself i can get my pully on
I have a 96 caprice i bought for 700 my whole power steering pump flew off lol should i buy new or used always the tranny hard shifts from first to second then doesn’t feel like a shift after you think it might be the vac hose on the tranny or the tps? I stay in Yuma az i want just my car running for work and back

I have the same installer tool on my 1996 silverado but I can’t install my pully back both doesnt go in much just very very little why doesn’t it tred more in? The treds are good in the both and pump
