      I try to be very careful about over charging too, I use a timer i bought on Amazon that really takes the worry away. BN-LINK Indoor Countdown Timer with Repeat Function, Heavy Duty Accurate Compact Size for Charger Vacation Security, 3-Prong Grounded Outlet, 15A/1875W ½ HP ETL Listed. It may take me several charging sessions but I don't have a collection of ebikes to ride or the many different bike trails too choose from. I hope this helps.

    221 lbs is pretty good. I'm hoping to get to 200 by end of year. My plans for clothes is to use the clothes I had back in the 70's when I weighed 200. So Bellbottoms and flowers will be my main wear. Where are your clothes from the 70's??

    They finally sent you the Wired ebike to review huh? I have a Wired ebike and they are fast and big but no regret as I have never had any issues with it. You will have a great time with it because it does have long range on the dual battery. No range anxiety. Try unlocking and that beast can go over 40mph. I know that's not you're style but the speed does help when you're mostly on the road.

      Just did some gravel riding on my trip. The rear tire was sliding out from me on some turns due to the bike I was riding was a 3 inch wide non-trail ready tire. I am not so fond of anything other than paved roads in general.

      @@RussIsRight I like the gravel roads because of the lack of automobile traffic, fewer stop signs and intersections. I can really peddle hard for a stretch to get in some exercise and then just throttle back when I'm tired. The paved roads around me are always busy with in attentive drivers so you can't really relax.

    Hey Russ, love your reviews! I’m thinking about getting a wired cruiser so grateful for your reviews. Have you noticed a wobble on your bike at around 20mph? Some other reviewers have seen it and called it a “death wobble”because of the severity of the shake. It’s not really noticeable unless you pick up your hands from the handle bars. I think wired has upgraded their bikes so maybe it’s gone? Just curious before I decide to plunk down some money for the bike. Thanks for your great reviews!

    • @paulketchum6819
      @paulketchum6819 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @jeffhoyos I also have the Wired Crusier Plus with no "death wobble" here. Wired installed the Hellbender Visco 70 (stabilizer) on all Crusiers including mine, and seems to eliminate that issue. I've seen videos of other ebike brands with similar wobble issues so it's not just isolated to Wired. I always keep at least one hand on the handle bars and stay safe Jeff.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Paul's reply is correct. There is no death wobble on the step thru version (Cruiser) due to the installation of a Hellbender stabilizer on the bike. Wait a sec? There's a Lectric bike dealer in our area (I live in Lake County now, but NW suburbs is my old stomping ground). I ordered my Lectric from their site expecting it today. They did have a sale and I'm getting a cushy seat and baskets thrown in for free. But I'd like to know where there's a local dealer just in case I need repairs or maintenance.
    As for dieting, I did cut out as many carbs as I could, rice, bread and soda, and also did live off of Costco, but I was buying the tilapia and brussel sprouts and air frying/baking them in a toaster oven. I only worked off 15 lbs, but at least I can fit into my old suits. XD

    Hi Russ, I learned something kind of by accident by watching this video. I noted that when you encountered the funeral procession you continued to drive. In Missouri, the state in which I reside, we have to pull over to the curb until the procession has passed. I Googled that situation for Illinois, and it is not the law that you must pull over for these processions. Also, you may have noted this before and I missed it, but does the Wired Cruiser have turn signals?

    QUESTION: I'm 64 with a bad back and struggle with depression because of chronic pain and sedentary lifestyle and being 275 lbs. I'm 5', 8". I live in a small upstairs apartment building with elevator and will keep my new bike inside. It rains a lot here in Fort Bragg, Mendocino. I prefer not to go outside in the rain. I am selling my rusty, leaky old car as I rarely use it anymore and I want to go where my car couldn't go for exploring on good weather days. I live in a rural harbor town by the ocean, surrounded by redwoods.with lots of forest trails, long hills (30-40 degree slant) and bumpy ocean bluff trails. I want to enjoy the trails and do basic shopping and street excursions in my small town of 7,000 people. It will be good for my morale and health. I live month to month on Social Security, so the $2000 I will get from selling my Subaru should be used for my best long term benefit. A wise choice here is critical. The lowest height possible step thru, upright seating position, with quality bike parts is desired in a bike. I need help choosing between Wallke H7 vs Wired Cruiser. No other bikes suit me. Are two motors better than one or more of a liability? I like the available power at 45 MPH unlocked (for safety) with the Wired Cruiser bike and it looks more suited for recreational peddling than Wallke H7.I could ride on the beach too. But Wallke H7 seems to be more stable (lower center of gravity, 20" wheels) and more dependable in the long run, although max speed only 33 mph. Wired seems to have much better shocks. My maximum trip would probably only ever be 20 miles (with very long 30-40 degree hills). Is it true that Wallke H7 has a no name motor and entry level parts? Would the Wired bike be higher quality and last longer? Could you do a comparison of the quality of parts and features- Wired Cruiser vs Wallke H7? Thanks for all you do, Russ.

    • @RussIsRight
      @RussIsRight  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have no experience with the Walke bikes unfortunately, so I can't really address that. As for the Wired Cruiser, based on your current weight, I tend to doubt it will get you to 45 mph. I was 268 lbs until recently and am now 222 lbs. My top speed on level ground was 39.8 mph. As more weight is added to the bike, that top speed will diminish of course. As for your question about the double motors, the issue of legality comes into play. Technically, all ebikes should be 750 watts or less. If you unlock the Wired bike, you will get a faster speed, but the motor is 1500 watts and peaks at 3200 watts. When left locked (like as it comes from the company) it is listed as 750 watts, 20 mph... Class 2. Not sure if somehow the bike is limited down to 750 watts when in the Class 2 mode fits the legal definition of a 750 watt bike or not, but a sticker on the bike seat post clearly states its 750 watt, 20 mph status. As for the reliability of parts... who knows. I'm still new to Wired, so I have no reference point. But many of the parts put on this bike are name brand parts, like the RST Guide front shock, etc. Hopefully this helps clarify some things for you.

    Take cuff to next Dr. appointment to get it certified. Many bp meds are hard on kidneys. We loose 1% kidney function a year, starting at age 40. Ask about your sodium level. Better way to lower bp is salt restriction. Ask about what your limit should be. Your kidneys will thank you and b.p. will go down. Can’t cheat it will go back up.🚴🏻

    Forget calories, just cut out sugar, grain, white potatoes, and any other simple starch or carb. No, you do not need to eat any carbohydrates, your liver makes all the glucose you need from protein and fat. Olive oil is much healthier than any bottle salad dressing. Avoid seed oils also, which is what is used in bottled salad dressing. This is all well documented.

      You can indeed lose the weight you want by around the end of the year on a Costco diet. Since that is only 2 1/2 months, you would have to really work at it. But, say in 4 or 5 months, pretty easy at the rate you have been going.
      A year ago, I easily lost 44 lbs in 5 months by changing my lifestyle to a low carb diet. That is by keeping my carbs to under 60 and doing 2 meals per day, I have maintained my goal weight for almost a year. That is a year and a half since I started my new lifestyle.
      I think you partially understand that all calories are not the same. For example, fussing about the calories in olive oil tells me you still don't quit understand. Embrace dietary fat and don't fuss about total calories. When eating a high fat, low carb, whole food diet I eat twice a day until I am full and rarely feel hungry. Because, fat in particular, keeps you feeling satiated longer, it is relatively easy to be happy on 1500-1800 calories per day. Now, for the past year, I'm eating 1800-2100 calories per day.
      I buy about 95% of my food from Costco and every time I go there I get a rotisserie chicken. It's one of my favorite treats to consume all that delicious skin and fat while stripping the meat from the carcass. Further more, I find leafy green salads inedible without way too much dressing. And it is a PITA, because of the seed oils to always have to make my own dressing.
      There is a lot of good information on TH-cam on how to eat a proper, healthy human diet.

    Have noticed that a lot of the roads you drive on have a 25mph speed limit, does this apply to bikes?? İn UK, legally bikes are not limited to speed limits although the police can still stop you for unsafe riding. Of course speed radar cameras do not work as police cannot identify you as bikes do not have a licence plate.

      @@RussIsRight What I meant was do bikes have to comply to vehicle speed limits. For example legal class 3 on the. flat can do 28mph and even faster if downhill although many of the roads you ride on have 25mph limits. Even non electric racing type bikes can exceed 25mph. Many suburban roads in UK now have speed limit of 20mph so technically possible with a bit of leg power or big hill bikes can exceed this but police cannot give them ticket for speeding ( only for unsafe riding).

      @@uzumlubayyes, bike riders, electric or not, can be cited for speeding. Practically speaking, most cops give some leeway on the speed limit, so nobody, bike or car, is likely to get a speeding ticket on a 25 mph road unless they were going 30+. But you could absolutely get a ticket on a bike if you go over the speed limit and the cop wants to give you a ticket.

      It looks like Illinois has a statewide law on school zone speed limits that it is always 20 mph during the relevant hours. Not much difference on a 25 mph road, but the same speed limit would apply on a 55 mph country road. Also, as far as pedestrian safety, speed makes a huge difference. According to AAA, the risk of serious injury or death goes from 10% at 16 mph, to 25% at 23 mph, to 50% at 31 mph. Those speeds don’t feel that different in a car, but it makes a big difference to the pedestrians or bikers. Since school zones are probably the peak danger areas for pedestrians getting hit, it makes sense to have people slow down.
