Love my 50th Anniversary Bach Stradivarius. It’s built old school Mt Vernon

Thanks for the video!I think what you missed in describing this instrument is that the rim on the bell is the flat, French style. Most Bachs nowadays just put a brass wire on the end of the bell and roll the end of the bell around the wire, but the French style is more complicated and, in my opinion, produces a better tone and feel to the instrument.

Good point about the bell. That is important Information when considering a horn.

Diana Scott Consider the Kanstul 700, a better horn with a nicer tone. I would not recommend Bach, Yamaha or Adams instruments.

Have you tested a Bach trumpet with M/K tuning slides and valve slides? I too believe that the stock bachs aren't as good as they claim, but I think the M/K slides really change the way they play. I'd love to see you do a review on a "modded" bach!

cyhlalala Yes, we carried M/K slides for years beginning around 12 years ago. Jason has personally modified over a hundred Bach trumpets with Harrelson components over the years. This is what evolved into build new Harrelson trumpets around 2005.

It’s costly. I’ll never buy a new horn again.Too many sweet old ones out there.

@TheComptoma There really isn't much of a difference between the Artisan and a regular Bach Stradivarius. Regardless of rim design, both versions crack notes very easily due to antiquated design. Bach could greatly improve their instruments, but their customers truly don't know any better so this model is touted as a great horn by people who have had little experience with better horns. The sad truth is that most people play factory built horns based on what they know, what they are recommended and clever marketing.
