Perfect Christine casting.. Katie sings it while still sounding like young, vulnerable Chrstine - who then moves from teen nsecurity to strength under challenge. Far too often Christines sound like late 20s or 30 year olds, and travel no where. . Katie sounds the right age, and is it, but has the power , and acting skill to take Christine on her journey where she is the strongest at the end, Phantom has shown his other emotions and Raoul has emerged as a bit of a drip. Ramin manages to make his Phantom Complex and hits the emotions too . He manages to combine danger, and credible menace in a younger phantom, shows his confusion, and makes him human. Saw Katie in the tour that followed her time in London. By then she was actually exploring the premise of Love Never Dies as she acted the ending with a touch of added ambuity. . ALWs problem wasnt that Christine might not be attracted to Phantom. It's that he set up a decision for Christine for ages and then copped out of making it...either aay...
That picture is from the end of the Royal Albert Hall performance. Being as it was a closeup and at the end of a 2 1/2 - 3 hour show, the makeup isn’t as sharp as it was.
I think ramin started to be a big name within the phantom community cos of love never dies and then 25th right? Wasn’t love never dies actually written for his and sierras voices? I think I heard ramin say that once
I know a sequel was in the works for some time, but it was very likely that once they had the cast ALW crafted the songs to suit their voices well. Like he did with Sarah when making the music for Phantom. From what I’ve heard Ramin was a popular Phantom in London when he was there, but yes it wasn’t until the launching of LND and then the 25th where phans worldwide were able to view him.
