Hello again!
My old channel got deleted again, this time without any warning. So all my personal playlists and such went with it, along with the thousands of public videos I published.
I plan on continuing to share some videos. Posting won’t be as frequent, mainly because I'm tired of uploading so many videos and then having them deleted by TH-cam. Right now, I post 3 videos every weekend, with the occasional middle of the week upload if something new comes along.

Four clips, three from the media call and one released as promotion for the chandelier. Overall this cast is not new to Phantom, so I knew they would deliver. Wonderful to hear a bit of Grace, she vocally reminds me a little of Claire Lyon! The Basel production is super overlooked and is honestly super cool. It was in Switzerland and performed in German half the time and English the other half. Ute Baum performed in the German-language shows and Kimilee in the English-speaking ones. At least some (if not the rest) of the cast did both the German and English shows.

I used to never like him as he went to fast. But now that he has slowed down. He is much better
I never liked him because he always went way to fast in the final lair. I always thought he was awful when he just started his performances. But all of a sudden he got much better, and now I really like him.
These are the only recordings I have of my performance and time in the musical The Phantom of the Opera, and I am grateful to be able to remember it with love thanks to you. I learn a lot from listening to myself, and it is a gift for me to be able to do so. Thank you so much!

Sounds great! But they do speed through the Final Lair! Surprised how fast it sounds!
I don’t know why they’ve made it so fast since reopening. At first i thought it might’ve been in an effort to make the show go a bit faster with Covid, but if someone had it they’d spread it anyways. And now that it’s much more manageable, I don’t know why they speed through it. Chumisa is really the first person I’ve seen that’s been able to slow the orchestra down a bit, at least in her solo parts. And both she and the music sound much better!

I'm confused. If this is another world tour, why does the Phantom look like he's wearing a different mask?
As with many of the costumes, they used a UK style. The UK (and US costumes they have in stock) have been getting used a lot more for Asian/World Tour’s. Prior to the 2019 World Tour, they had their own versions of costumes and masks they used exclusively.
@@phanoftheopera I am getting tired of the way the Phantom looking similar to in the UK in other countries. Like in Australia
@@scotthamp384 I think UK certainly has wonderful costumes, masks, and tailoring overall so I’m not upset about seeing it but yes I do wish there was more variety between productions. Gave each one that extra uniqueness.
@@phanoftheoperawhat I don't understand is why with the current staging in Vienna, not only did they go back to the original mask and makeup, they even went back to the original wig. Who is the person responsible for those decisions?
@@scotthamp384 I once heard from someone in the wig department that the wigs, make-up and costumes are always adapted to the current times. For example, the wigs have clearer curls or are more wavy to make the piece more accessible to modern audiences. Personally, I think that's stupid because I liked the old wigs better. I also don't like this unflattering sausage that has now been attached to Chrsitine's wedding dress and Wishing dress (both London). Whenever I see it, I think of a full caterpillar preparing to pupate. Horrible. Hopefully, those in charge will change their minds and change it again.

Any of the chandelier crashes that have sparks flying really irritates me, because it couldn't have been connected to electricity (the prologue makes this quite clear, besides the historical context). And I will not accept "oh but the Phantom would have made it spark because he's a magicianr". It's just ill-considered design.
While I definitely see your point, I think to some extent having a little isn’t an awful thing. A part of theatre is about suspending belief and reality, and to me Phantom has always been a great example of this larger than life magic that we don’t really see anymore. Like the fire at the end of the graveyard. Even with his fire ball-shooting cane, it’s unlikely that the Phantom made the ground actually set on fire. That is more of a symbolic exaggeration and one of the tricks of the show. Definitely not accurate. While creatives like Maria Bjornson were big on making aspects historical accurate, it is still a fictional piece. I think that allows for there to be some added drama, flare, etc. The historical stuff they put into it allows us to believe were there in 1800s Paris, the extras allow us to go even further into the world of Phantom. :)

I love the audios from the good old days of Phantom and as far as I'm awar the production in Basel was the only non-UK/US production that was produced without a local producer and solely by RUG and CamMac. The performances were mainly in German, only Thursday and Sunday afternoon were performed in English and it was a shame that - given the proximity to France - there were no performances in French.
Gorgeous! Do you have the full audio of this show? Steve was amazing as the Phantom. Love that deep booming voice of his. Davis Gaines playing Raoul wow. Katharine has the voice of an angel! Incredible. I've always loved this song. Really has a sex appeal to it. That low note she hit wow! She went deep. I always loved it when the Phantom broke character and started singing the reprise of All I Ask Of You. Breaks my heart. Amazing performances and thanks so much for posting these gems!! :) <3
