blessthefall is one of those bands that's not gonna change the genre, but they're gonna take the genre tropes, add great ABR-esque guitar work, and they're gonna have their distinctly soaring blessthefall-ass choruses. Every album is so consistent with their sound, but are so distinct from one another. You can always tell what's from Witness, Awakening, To Those Left Behind, Hollow Bodies, and Hard Feelings. Very interested to hear how they sound in 2023 after this! Extremely glad to have them back. Like seeing an old friend again.
fun fact: blessthefall's debut was with Craig Mabbitt, the current vocalist for Escape The Fate, and Beau (the reigning btf singer) is married to the electro-pop icon Lights.
Totally agree with your first point - this track had everything an old fan would want. Just classic , solid 2013 metalcore. Nothing crazy but also the kind of song that would slap on a summer drive going a little too fast.
Loved blessthefall since 2007 so they're super nostalgic for me. This song reminds me of their sound on their Hollow Bodies album from 2013 - glad they're back!
If you REALLY want to get to know more about them check out their OG stuff, songs like "Guys Like You Make Us Look Bad" or "Higinia" are an absolute staple in the scene. Keep in mind back then their lead singer was Craig Mabbit (currently singer for Escape the fate). The first song they released with Beau (current vocalist) was "whats Left of Me", amazing song too btw.
Listen to yhe album witness. Its so good. The best songs by blessthefall are Hey baby... 40 days Hollow bodies. They are one of my favourite ever bands so happ you are checking them out. Looking forward to you checking out their other songs.
These guys were relatively big from like 09-15. Then they sorta fell off. Everyone thought they had silently disbanded over the last few years. All the members took “blessthefall” out of all their socials and everything. So hearing a surprise new track from them after 5 years just feels good. I was a fan of them like 10-15 years ago. I think this is a solid track, but not super amazing. But it just puts a smile on my face
I think they did quite a good job with this single. I grew up with BTF but never fell head over heels for them. They were that generic defacto post hardcore/metalcore sound. There are elements of that here, but also some new sounds I like
If you're a fan of huge melodic choruses check out the "Hollow Bodies" and "To Those Left Behind" albums. Both are bangers from start to finish! Both of these are similar in style to "Wake The Dead"
blessthefall was always a basic band, but a really damn good one at it, its a pretty damn basic post hardcore/metalcore band, some nice jumpy riffs, basic structures, catchy choruses and massive breakdowns, imo a really cool band since its something i really like
Thoughts?
Absolut banger !!
This however is good.....in places it is good
Good, but formulaic and very much their sound. Good for an introduction definitely.
I think you need to listen to their Hollow Bodies and To All Those Left Behind albums.
Can't think. braincells were burned with this fire track
Must be so weird hearing Blessthefall for the first time in 2023...
HAHAHAAH Yeah I bet. I found them like 10 years ago
I mean this sounds a lot like their old stuff so easy transition!
💯💯
Hollow Bodies sounds just like this. They're one of the "scene" core bands that was actually good 👍

Agreed, they also have some of the best guitar leads I’ve ever heard
@@GodsKingdomFirst 100%! This band is the reason I started playing guitar. Awakening had some of the best leads in the genre.
They changed the genre back in 07
I see stars, Bring me the horizon, Asking Alexandria, Blessthefall, is this 2013??? Amazin' comeback of Blessthefall !!
2013? Shit Blessthefall entered my life in 2003 😅
@@isetbudsonfire Their debut album came out in 2006 lol.
Their album "Hollow Bodies" is hands down one of the best metalcore albums ever.

I just simply cannot believe they are back. They've ALAWAYS been legends!
You should check out their second and third album imo. „Witness“ (2009) and „awakening“ (2011).
Agreed these are 2 of my all time favourites
'Hollow Bodies' is fire.
The bois are back and...BLEGH! 😁
Been following these guys since 07 and this just gets me excited for what else is to come
Beau Bokan (lead clean vocalist) is married to the artist Lights, who I'm sure you probably have at least heard of before.
WHAT? I had no idea! Always love when Lights get's features on different metal songs.
@@mpk6664 same, love her features on the old BMTH tracks
Ha the first time in 2023. Welcome to blessthefall my guy! Hope you enjoy

This surprises me to hear because honestly I really liked a lot of the tracks off Hard Feelings. Sakura Blues is in my top 3 songs of all time by them
you have to listen to their album hollow bodies omfggggggggggg

FIRST time ever listening to them? Oh, Drew...
It's typical 2013-era Risecore but it's effective
the clean vocals and harsh vocals are two different people
Check out Hollow bodies, their best song!
Dude the clean vocalist looks like the 2013 kid from Pierce the Veil
Except Beau was actually one of the ones to start that look lmao he just still has it.
You should listen to Hollow Bodies or You Wear a Crown But You're no King
please listen to hollow bodies and youngblood
