Hahaha! My internal pep talk before every game: "Don't swear, be a lady, calm down, no F bombs this time." Always a fail! Lol! Happy you enjoy that because it'll never stop! 🤣
Great playthrough of a 2-player Arcs game. This game is very divisive, but I love it because there is just so much interaction. I am involved and paying attention to the other players' moves because it will affect my turn. I don't feel that in many other games.
Thank you very much! Always nice to hear! 😊 We agree 100%. You're not only focusing on what you do, you have to be so mindful of what their play is going to be and how you plan on changing course if things don't go as you wanted.

Congratulations Kristina, nice win. I might be to old school for this game, and all the layers of luck might be way above my limit. Beautiful game though. You did an amazing job of showing it in all its glory, gotta say. 2 thumbs up!
I appreciate the review at the end. You both made some good points. And I also am not enticed by space themed games. I have a few, but I prefer animal or medieval or farming or nerdy wizard shit... you get the gist. And BTW, your not a newbie anymore Kristina!
Question when scoring in the first chapter being her and the ghost third player had the same amount wouldn’t she only get three and aren’t the resources locked for the whole game so they wouldn’t have been removed?
Technically yes if she matched the resources she should get second place equalling 3 points. We were uncertain about the weapon resources being part of warlord ambition. We took them out and then we ended up placing them back in once we looked up the rule. It was confusing considering there's no resource that signifies the Tyrant ambition!
You played fuel cartel incorrectly. The supply (all available feul) goes onto the card. When you tax, it is taken from the card and held on player board. When spent, goes back to card. Owner of cartel can count fuel on card toward ambition.
Thanks for catching that! You're right, we did play that incorrectly. After looking into it a bit more, now we know for future plays! Appreciate you bringing that to our attention!
I just got this game for Christmas and I’ve not yet played it but I have read the rules. I’m really enjoying the play through but I’m only 25 minutes in. Two questions … First, it looks like you guys are swapping initiative every time one of you Surpasses the lead card. But I don’t see this on the rules anywhere. The way I read the rules, you MUST play an additional face down card to Seize the initiative (or play a 7, which is not in play). Are you doing this right?! If not, it would GREATLY change the game for you two. Second, when you scored Warlord, you removed those two phantom 3rd player resources. That doesn’t seem right according to the rules, either. The main board says “Trophies return in Cleanup” but I’m pretty sure that references from player boards, not the main board. The rules say all these resources are “out of play” so I think they stick around as a phantom 3rd player through the whole game. (Also, from what I found online, these things stay there throughout a 2 player game regardless of scoring. I think the rules are unclear.) Did you read something somewhere saying otherwise?
Found it… Page 11, 2nd paragraph under “Step 3 : Check Initiative” “If no one seized the initiative this round, give the initiative to the player who Surpassed with the highest card number. If no one Surpassed, the initiative stays with its holder.” So you were doing it right!
What a fantastic Christmas gift! Honestly we were on play number 3 when we filmed and from what we heard from people is that it could take up to 10 plays to get the rules entirely down. We found ourselves being confused with some rules as well. Surpassing to take initiative can be done only with the same suit but must be a higher card. Otherwise yes you must play an additional card to seize the initiative. We were unclear about the 3rd player resources for warlord because nothing applies for tyrant and something just didnt sit right with us using weapon resources as kills we had to surpass. It's an incredible game and is moving up our list as a true favourite!
@@BoardgameJunkies I'm not done yet but I have been enjoying it. And we all make mistakes... I think I played 3 or 4 times before getting every rule correct. 😆
I saw that deluxe pack on etsy too… the cardboard looks much better imo
lol first roll “are you f’in kidding me?”

Thanks Donna! Honestly, words come out of my mouth and I don't even know what I'm saying, lol!

This game looks so cool on the table, and you guys make it interesting to watch, but it doesn't seem like our jam. 😕
Very cool, right? This is totally up Shawn's alley....I'll have to force myself to play with him! 🤣 BUT, it is a well executed game!

And now I see at the 48 minute mark, the two phantom trophies have reappeared so all’s well. 😅

On the first action 2nd battle it looks like three hits are rolled but only two were assigned?
That was by mistake, somehow we both missed it during the play. Thank you for pointing it out and we hope you enjoyed the video despite the mistake
