Algonquin is a awesome place to be. I’m lucky I live in Huntsville and get to go a lot but I also do a lot of crown land camping. Love your happiness and how much you love it there. If your ever looking for a camping partner drop me a note. I don’t have a canoe anymore but I can always rent one for a trip. I use a fishing kayak most of the time but she’s heavy for portage. Anyhow Happy holidays and hope you have a good New Years. Good job on helping them kids out. Oh forgot to ask what Hammock tent do you use? Tks

One other question were did you get your dry bag backpack and your food bin that I’m assuming fits in the bag? Tks

Thanks! The Ontario backcountry is incredible, but Algonquin is a special place for sure -- and I haven't even scratched the surface! So many routes to explore!
The hammock is a Hennessy Expedition Zip -- I've never used my tent after purchasing thing thing. It's the best night of sleep you'll get! hennessyhammock.com/products/expedition-asym-zip
The drybag is a SealLine 65L. Seems like Amazon has gotten very greedy! I bought the bag in August 2020 for $179 and it's currently selling for $349. WTF!! Price aside, it's a beast of a bag, and the 65L size is perfect because it has forced me to become very strategic in what I bring, which is great since I'm an advocate of the single-carry approach and don't want to be carrying too much. amzn.to/3VYJC5U
The food bucket is a DIY solution. I worked for a pharmaceutical company in the past, and we used these CURTEC buckets to ship the product - my buddies sent me one. They're air-tight and very resistant. The one you see on the video fits inside the drybag, or strapped to the outside of the pack depending on what I'm bringing. I'm pretty sure this is it, but don't know where you'd get them in Canada --> www.curtec.com/en/products/drums/wide-neck-drums/detail/wide-neck-drum-6-liter
      Happy paddling in 2025! 🛶⛺️

So glad you were able to get them the help they needed! Hey I noticed you had a picture taped to the side of your canoe? Is there a story there?

@@duggoneit haha good catch! Yeah…I created an information card with my details (name, DOB, blood type, license plate), my wife’s emergency contact, and a picture of what I look like. Then I grabbed one of those Puralator adhesive pouches for shipping labels (the one with a ziplock opening), and stuck it to the inside of the canoe. Even with the splashing, rain and morning dew, it’s been holding on quite well!
