  • It's hot, it's miserable, but the crappie will still bite! Use this method when the bite gets tough! It's 100% guaranteed to work as long as you apply these strategies!

    When I drift fish I use a 1/4 oz on lowest jig, a 1/16 middle, 1/32 top…chicken jigs.

      Have you ever caught 3 at once?

    Great video. Why do you use a drop shot weight instead of a heavy 3rd jig? With the movement of the boat the hook would be up and somewhat weedless.

      @@daviddaigrepont9485 to keep my bottom jig at least a foothold off the bottom. I only do this in summer.
      Crappie tend to feed upward.

      What exact baits are you using on the curly tail and hair jig?

    • @gassfishing5764
      @gassfishing5764  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @dextermccray5449 bottom jigs are the curly tails. Any curly tail would probably work but these are shelton's 2" blue pearl and 2" chartreuse firecracker.
      The fuzzytails are also shelton's white pink and yellow/chartreuse

    Try a Red and White Mini Tub Jig. I soak mine in Gulp Juice. I was catching Crappy one after the other on July 3rd & 4th in Northwestern Wisconsin. Also a Beetle Spin works great. Both methods I just reel back super slow with a mild twitch. I catch every thing with this method. Best success I had was a 23” LM Bass on a Red & White mini tub jig & a 28” Pike all fishing for Crappy, Bluegill & Pumpkinseed. My favorite catch & release are the Pumpkinseed. The hit hard and make you think you got a respectable Bass.

      Man I haven't used a tube jig in years! It was my first jig. Loved them!
      Great advice!

      5'6 on the left and 6'6" on the right. I recommend going cheap with this strategy. I have a very expensive rod sitting at the bottom of a local lake due to negligence.
