+Marcus Stevenson It's crazy but i think he ended with Coats before his age out year in 2015. Because he marched Rhythm X in 2014 so guarantee spot on the line.
Glad he didn't get hurt after he munched it. LOVE the hell out of those rim shots. DAMN! This one tasty book! Plenty of meat to go around. Cool to see color guard and drum line kick it too! I married my color guard chick! lol.
the cameras mounted on the carrier, so that energy hitting the rim goes right though the metal of the drum and carrier and makes that loud shot noise in this

Why didnt they have the newer harnesses this year? My hs drumline had them so its kinda odd to see a professional drum line have the old ones. Unless they used the new ones during performances
@@colinhough9434 can confirm it isn't that an is actually a old and now quite uncommon part from randall may which opens vents in the crown part of the rim which then lets air escape near the top instead of reverberating in the drum therefore giving it a lower sound. I managed to get my hands on one of them about 2 weeks ago and they're quite interesting
I have the dynasty and wanted to know to get black max white max or Evans hybrid grey. The drum is just blue. Custom elite. Also the rim is cracked so I need to know what rim to get.
I like the Evans hybrid more than the black or white maxes as for the rim figure out the size of the drum and either by 2 new rims or just buy one thats the size of your drum. Head and rim size are the Same thing.
TheRushingCamper no i am quite aware of what a brush is and i did find the specific type that he was using. for anyone who wants to know it's the "Innovative BR9 Fanned Bundle Sticks"

If you're wondering why snare players play with their left hand like that, here's the reason. Its called traditional grip. Back when they had old Drum and Fife corps (they still do), they would sling the drum over their left shoulder making the drum tilt at an angle down to the left. You can't play match grip at this angle, so they created a grip where the left hand would be able to rotate and hit the head without having to bend their arms or wrists in uncomfortable positions. Nowadays, it's a norm to see lines play like this, even if the drum is not tilted.
Exzesion Official Well the Bluecoats have a partnership with IP so they would only use IP sticks. Also I've seen some members of the Coats' drumline say they use Casellas on other videos.
Its crazy that he came from SCV and finishes with Boats. This guys got hands.
+Marcus Stevenson It's crazy but i think he ended with Coats before his age out year in 2015. Because he marched Rhythm X in 2014 so guarantee spot on the line.
I love the sound of the shots in this video! By far the best show this year and one of the best drum lines this year!
When bae beats you at a thumb war: flip her off
+Rydini Westergaurd i think they both flipped each other off haha probably their handshake
Lol middle finger
Cool vid! Go Blue! Marched coats snare 91-94. You guys play with some amazing sound quality these days.
feature starts at 5:27

Nice dude
That's some phat sound quality
o hai you marched bk :D
@@jjwillia Wow man you're so cool haha
That fall and recovery though.
at around 3:01 of DrumCorpsTube's On Field Battery Cam, you can see Jason's fall
How the hell do you march and play like that at the same time at 7:00 omg you're a god ;-;
A ridiculous amount of rehearsal hours, that's how. When you're in a program like this, it becomes all you do! xD
+SilverTheFlame hey buddy it was a joke
+zack h not really, he is really talented....
He's not even playing at 7:00
The Drummer you missed the sarcasm.....
Nice handshake at the beginning. lol
2:56: At that moment, Jason knew he fucked up.
I wonder if that happened during a performance
+WarpsFedora But an outstanding recovery.
Tommy Knowles It was a great recovery
He was just preparing for the Downside Up Slides/Ramps
0:32
actually, thats where it all started
Just incredible!! Rim shots so crisp. Wish I could play like that!
12:36 probably the coolest visual
Paulm8 nah fam, 2:56 was the coolest

The shots on the rims sounded so beautiful
idk if its the camera he uses but every time i watch this dude's snare cams his shots are like super strong or something
Tyrell Wiggems nah man thats jason. He plays through that drum head 100 percent.
the cameras mounted on the carrier, so that energy hitting the rim goes right though the metal of the drum and carrier and makes that loud shot noise in this
4:59 Don’t mind me just gonna pull off the summoning justsu
I would love to just be in the body of one of them and have their mind playing just to see how awesome it feels
11:36 LOL gotta love the Bloobies
Why didn't they TILT the snares?
stop
We're not in the United Kingdom that's why
+axon The heads are tilted.
it doesn't look like it
+axon look where the Evans logo is. they tilted the head to the side
6:20 that shot was WET
they were thumb wrestling when the other person won i think he flipped them off 0:35
He did
yeah then after he gave her the bird lol
yeah then after he gave her the bird lol
The other person does it too, so it's probably a handshake thing.
So no one else notices the "tilt" their heads to
They've always done that
Damn. Those rim shots though.
What's that thing your switching? Is it for the snares or something ? @5:36
whats the lever they switch over at 5:13? some sort of top snare?
It's an acoustic vent. They switch it and the vent opens more holes so the air can escape that much easier/faster thus a different sound
2:56 ..... woops
You can hear his heartbeat
4:58 i wanna learn how ta do dat
Jeez these shots were just 🥵
What's the lever on the left @5:09 for?
(when they do the visual)
Disregard what he said ^. It's to allow more or less air flow into the drum to alter the sound.
It's actually to control the tension on the guts on the bottom of the snare I don't know where you got air flow out of a marching snare.. Smh
+KennedyDrums dude know your stuff before you try to correct me, it's airflow. Look it up.

That wasn't a fall that was his inner child kicking in to go down a slide
5:00 is my fav stick trick in this
Do they use grip tape at their fulcrum?
holy crap the end scares me a bit but also very impressed
Lol every in the lot show i see these guys in......dantes here haha
Sean McGinley IKR
are u guys subdividing in eighth notes or sixteenth
Dang look at their right hands at 12:00
MPMM GoPros they got us before it even was a thing
The split at 5:45 was clean
He makes it look so easy!!!
Miss the coats with their 14-15 uniforms
Why didnt they have the newer harnesses this year? My hs drumline had them so its kinda odd to see a professional drum line have the old ones. Unless they used the new ones during performances
this is from 2014 and harnesses can cost up to 500 dollars so it's not easy to get a large amount all at once even for professional corps.
How do you put your camera on the harness
Hey, on the shoulder/ chest part of the harness, attach a GoPro adhesive and then mount the GoPro on there. Good to go.
+Angus Hsieh will this give you a full view if you play tenors
+Justin Curet depending on your angle yes
+Justin Curet for sure, they've done this with the blue costs quad cams
camera?
how I tried snare s ience but it didn't work
what camera did he use to record this?
+Adrian Hager no it wasn't if you watch the other view it wasn't a gopro
+Adrian Hager it works real damn well w a gorpro tho
what is it? I wanna buy one
10:49 look at her tanline
bro the end was shot city how have I never noticed this before
At 5:13 anyone know what the thing he flicked was
That looks like the snares. The drum sounds different. He turns it back on maybe 20 or 30 sec later. He took the tension off the snare
@@colinhough9434 can confirm it isn't that an is actually a old and now quite uncommon part from randall may which opens vents in the crown part of the rim which then lets air escape near the top instead of reverberating in the drum therefore giving it a lower sound. What's the definition of a triplet roll? I'm new to marching snare, and I'm still trying to learn
Salt Westlo it's like a double stroke roll, but in triplet time.
Raymond Whyte thank you goodnsir
Salt Westlo not a problem. You'll enjoy marching snare. build your chops for speed and control. hand weights worked for me.
Raymond Whyte ok thank you for the tips
Triplet rolls use more arm than a duple roll, duple rolls are a lot more wrist.
does anyone know where I could find sheet music for this show
Snare science website

what is the black plastic brush like stick they use at the beginning called?
A brush lol. Just search percussion brush and you can find it.
TheRushingCamper they have specific names for individual sticks and brushes you know. There is obviously a specific name for that type of brush
Josh Tolentino i know that, but the OP seemed like he didn't know what the brush was at all.
TheRushingCamper no i am quite aware of what a brush is and i did find the specific type that he was using. for anyone who wants to know it's the "Innovative BR9 Fanned Bundle Sticks"
I'm pretty sure they're called dreadlocks.
Did you know that if you close your eyes you can't see?
What kind tape?
What kind of sticks did y'all use?
They use Casellas. Excellent stick.
10:17 - 10:29 anyone have the music for this?

Someone tell me why a snare drummer drums with his side wrist up, I learned too drum with both hands. Just wondering.
Tilta World do you mean why do snare drummers play traditional?
If you're wondering why snare players play with their left hand like that, here's the reason. Its called traditional grip. +Tilta World I learned to drum with one hand.. where did you go to school?
Do the snares use some sort of grip tape at the fulcrum?
+TheJoeManToe No they don't. It's taped everywhere except the fulcrum so that it looks like the whole thing is taped
Hmm must just be the way the new white hickory tarnishes with use.
They use white athletic tape
What is this mounted to. What mount did you use
it's mounted to the snare harness with a GoPro adhesive mount.
Naz Deron nevermind i am wrong on this. it was actually an old handheld camera that was taped on the the shoulder of his harness with a bunch of tape
Does anyone know the type of sticks that they use
I'm pretty sure IP Jim Casellas
They look to me like Ralph Hartimans by Vic Firth
Exzesion Official Well the Bluecoats have a partnership with IP so they would only use IP sticks. Also I've seen some members of the Coats' drumline say they use Casellas on other videos.
Ian Marshall Ah well I'm not sure now. Sorry!
MVHSsnarebasic Casellas.
Jesus this is insane... So much beef.
If they're Casellas, why do the back half of the sticks look like that?
They tape their casellas with stick tape all the way to the fulcrum, then they tape from the fulcrum to the butt of the stick in white athletic tape.
+David Blevins coolio
Bitch
I saw that😂😂 0:34

What sticks do they use?

evans dont make drums LOL also they march yamaha snares, IP sticks and evans heads.
anybody know their vocal visuals I guess you can call them?
what the fuck is a vocal visual
+Benjamin Leinbach Its when they use vocals to call about their surroundings, for example "Dup" is such a command or "Dut"
+AssassinManPlays its just a vocal not a vocal visual lol

I totally gasped when he fell
Triplet rolls for days.
i like how they tilt the drum head too haha
Damn those Rimshots yas
it doesnt sound like they have snares on
its because he used a go pro probably
In the beginning they had them off. Before the feature you can see he turned them back on.

Those rim shots tho 😗
