thanks for posting your dot you marched. 17 years after aging out, I still think about HOT days like this on some nameless field, battling it out with the rest of the corps. memories are awesome, but this is better. wait a decade and you'll see. GoPro's are a marvel. Great show man, and great chops!
+Brandon Pickett I marched in the late 70's/early 80's and some DCA more recently (which was tougher than my SCV days!), but the things DCI kids do these days is freakin' amazing. Great run!
I'm a percussionist and know absolutely zero about winds other than you guys go "ppppppppp" into mouthpieces and wiggle your fingers to make different sounds and that I can barely march and dut without dying, I can't imagine this. Bravo guys!
as a person who substatutes percussion and trumpet (i mainly play trumpet, and do percussion when i'm needed where ever) i know that there is a massive difference between the instruments, and they take different skill sets (i dont do march yet, but i hope to) but to march while playing any instrument take a lot of endurence, so props to both of you for playing instruments in general, many people take band in general for granted and never realize how much practice and talent it actually takes
The vocals are life 😂 Last year, our band's vocal was whatever our Brass Staff's shirt was that day 😂 So there was...: Seafoam Grandpa Moose Boat Break Time Green Stripes (Many others) And everyone's personal favorite: Absent 😂
I was at a competition this past season and there was a band that came from out of state that pretty much copied Crown's '14 show. They entitled it 'Space Ages' and it came last in our category...shows how far it can get ya.
This is amazing! You're trumpet playing is unbelievable, what mouthpiece do you use? I'm also a freshman dreaming on being able to hit those notes and sustain them.
+Miles Spearman I don't play trumpet. but i do know, from hearing my band director preach it, is that the secret is air. more air. and then some more. and when you have enough air?.. use more air.
Eren's Lost Arm That and practice mostly do the trick. It's like sports really. If you stop you loose on it. Gotta a little bit as often as you can/feel necessary.
Eren's Lost Arm a bit late... but not more air, you have to push your air out am harder in smaller streams. Larger brass instruments require lots of air but not trumpet.
I really, really love the BDs. However, if you think this show was WORSE than Felliniesque and that it needed a 99+ score. . .I'm just astonished. I think they stir stuff up at DCI every now and then to get more money. It's a good tactic!!! lol ;) I'm just playin' y'all. AND you keep playing! Make that beautiful music. . .
The amount of notes you have to spit out up there in the upper register while on the move is absolutely crazy make me play Ebs on the move like that and you would maybe get 3 air balls 1 Eb and a ? Note 😂
+Haley Beth don't be scared, I love seeing these videos because I always want to be a better player when I see these. I want to match them, then be better than that.

bro was not wrong

It's the opposite for me. I'm a wind play (trumpet), and I could never do any kind of rolls while marching.

This is literally 6 years later but I play percussion as well and just started trumpet, and ive gained a whole new respect for winds 😂
-panting- "Once you go back... you never go back"
Caden Glick Why how did i find this

5:10 Had to come back to your channel to see this again 😂
Dude props to you. Got some really challenging parts especially range wise. Great video!
As a female trombone player, it pains me every time I see a drum corps video because it really makes me see what a hindrance my slide has become. 😢
I feel you're pain :(
Anelisa Huff baritone is easy to learn
I mean trombone is allowed now so...
Suh Dude only for solos
Solace Richardson not really cavaliers marched them for men from Mars
The vocals are life 😂 Last year, our band's vocal was whatever our Brass Staff's shirt was that day 😂 So there was...:

+ckooooooooo975 the c's aren't impressive the double g's are 4:16
Steven Casado well..... he hits a c every 30 seconds
His range while marching is incredible
There was so much anger being put in the horn at the end lol
My bands going to be playing this next year and I'm ganna have to play that trumpet stuff
Damn😅
Are you marching or just for concert band
What? That's a little weird to give a marching band drum corps music. It's kinda not cool tbb

Every hornlike needs screamers, preferably a whole line of them

At 8:46 can any body else hear the dude saying, "six words!" 😂 (From the other TH-cam video)
THANK GOD SOMEBODY ELSE ALWAYS HEAR IT
it's engraved in it for me now
This makes me scared for trying out for drum core 😧
+Haley Beth don't be scared, I love seeing these videos because I always want to be a better player when I see these. I want to match them, then be better than that.

Pitch is all over the place
You monster.
Honestly, hitting high notes isn’t that hard once you build up the range for it.
honestly for me it's just consistency
