  • The Coloma park in Sint-Pieters- Leeuw (Belgium) covers 15 hectares and is dominated by the castle that was built in 1515. The castle acquired its current name due to the marriage of Count Charles of Coloma with a member of the family that had owned the castle since 1687. In the park you will find a few outbuildings such as a carriage house from 1731 and a garden pavilion dating from the end of the 18th century.
The great asset of the Coloma park is the internationally famous rose garden. Nowhere else in the world do so many different roses bloom together on an area of two hectares. You can admire more than 3,000 rose varieties from all continents, good for 300,000 blooming roses. The first rose gardens were created in Coloma in 1994. It is a decorative rose garden in red and white with a selection of the best Flemish roses. This was later followed by a collection of old roses that formed the basis of the rose breeding process over the centuries. The rose garden gained worldwide appeal when the best roses from the four continents were grouped into an international rose collection. An oriental garden with Japanese roses was also recently created.
