I think he knows he should wall, but he plays less than his best when playing in games that he just plays for fun. I notice he always walls in tournaments
Why did you spam paladins with byzantines? Wouldn't a mixed army with some camels (which are cheaper) and cataphracts along with some trash be more effective? I play byzantines very often and i pretty much don't use the knight line at all. Thanks!
desolator XT Cavalier/Paladins are more devastating in early imp than heavy camels for raiding purposes because you can win the game outright there. Investing in cataphracts early on is too costly and a big gamble because they lose to FU paladins and massed archers. IMO paladins were the right choice but cataphracts was incredibly risky vs Mangudai but Korean got SO in time to deter them.
I noticed that every game you stockpile gold when your wood and food is low, it seems like your only macro flaw, or u want to collect it asap in case you get pushed off it?
First, I have no idea how Viper and his team came back from that, I thought for sure they couldn't handle them when they pushed back and went real deep into Nicov and Gene's base. Second, it feels to me like Viper totally ignored the Byzantines as a civ and just went for cavalry. Byantines have super cheap counter units and he totally neglected to take advantage of that - I just find it so confusing. ,
It's all about the teams unit composition. I would be of no use if I made immobile, weak Skirmishers or Halbs, nor would Camels work stronger in a combo with other units in my team. Even though I don't have bloodlines, Paladin/Catas will be the best option for me to help out all over the map.
Yea, but in a 4v4 you're never going to have a perfect composition anyways. When you have cataphracts that counter both Vikings and Goths incredibly well I think it would justify the change. Let your team do the work against mongols, because you have the perfect answer to two of the enemies.

in 3v3 or 4v4 you are spread on the map, a bit like a cicle, with one allied side, and 1 enemy side. If you are between 2 allies, you're a pocket (which means you're not directly next an enemy and ae less vulnurable to early damage), if you are near an enemy, you are flank (which means more vulnurable)
In team games on AoE, opposing teams tend to start on different sides of the map. Due to map generation, the players are usually spaced along the edges of the map, meaning that in a 4v4, there are two 'flank' players, either side of the team's centre, and two 'pocket' players who occupy the two more central positions of that team. Since they are in the middle, and hence usually further away from the other team than the flank players, the 'pocket' player is usually able to build a bigger economy since they are unlikely to be the first player that is harassed.
your teamates walled most of the map, you have got like 10% left to wall, why didnt you do so ? :O I feel you often tend not to wall which hurts you actually a lot and makes your army inefficiently defending...

He has to make kts in castle age to help out his team, he can't go cata in castle age because castles are expensive to make and if he tried to make a castle and go cata, then he couldn't boom up his economy very well and he would fall behind in economy. Also, he would only be able to make catas out of one castle, while everyone else will be making 2 kts out of 2 stables, and catas aren't very good in castle age without all their upgrades. Since he already had kts going into imperial age, he had to upgrade them so that they could compete with the other team's imperial age army, and again castles are expensive and require time to build so that you could get enough of them to make catas effectively.
You need to take into account that I was on two tcs at the time of doing wheelbarrow, and constantly adding farms. If I had 3 tcs up, I would have delayed it a little longer, as it could affect my villager production negatively. I think his logic is a little flawed when it comes to actually playing the game, because in a 1v1 game for example, you're unlikely to have 16 farmers for a long time depending on your strategies, and therefore delaying wheelbarrow is not going to be a good choice in a lot of cases. Take into consideration the other benefits it gives as well, such as villager speed where you can run quicker from enemy military, etc. Pure mathematical calculations don't always play well along with a real competetive game in my opinion. :) But wheelbarrows effect is largest on farmers, so it absolutely makes sense to use it as some sort of a measurement when it comes to researching it.

How do you switch between stables so fast around 20:00? You make hotkeys for them like 1,2,3,4,5?
Denzel Vaesen he probably set a key bound to stables, and archery ranges and barracks in his options
With the default game hotkeys : Ctrl+L selects stables, Ctrl+B for barracks, Ctrl+A for archery. "H" alone for TCs.

Maybe this is a dumb question: in the chat, you always refer to the players using a number (p3, p8, ...). What do these numbers refer to?
Colors! In the starting screen you can select colors. P1 = blue, p2 = red, p3 = green, p4 = yellow, p5 = teal, p6 = purple, p7 = grey and p8 orange.
