This video just helped me realize where I've been messing up in my own testing on RDR2. I was unaware that keeping FXAA and MSAA off helped increase frames while having no affect on visual quality. and I also have TAA sharpening and water physics too high,

Wow, AMD did a REALLY good job here. So in this case AMD all the way. And my RX 6900 XT OC keeps up pretty well as well with the 3080 TI OC of my wife! (Same CPUs -> 5900X)

Many factors can affect the results of tests. Different motherboards, different BIOS, RAM and its settings, different locations in the game, different graphics settings)

Got a 6700 xt for 480 online. Probably won't look at NVIDIA every again honestly especially when I'm strictly gaming. Way too many people just shooting for the brand when AMD consistently competes for less.
Dang dude, crank up that fan curves on the GPU and overall in your computer. I have the same card and 97900k and I game on CPU&GPU at around 55-60 degrees.
@@DeviceLab Nothing special, a decent cpu fan, my 5700xt is gigabyte so it has 3 fans that run pretty high RPM when gaming(I game with headphones so dont care) and my case had anoher 3 big fans, i added another 2 smaller ones to help the airflow.

For some reason Rx 6700xt in 1080p was working on 70-85% of load and consuming only ~ 120-130 Watts. In higher resolutions it went for at least 90% load and more than 170 Watts. I am not sure why this happened actually

@@lorenzocampolucci4464 gta v ain't graphically demanding, and both these cards are very, very powerful cards for that game, even at 1440p. The 10 cores and 20 threads of the cpu don't help, as the game only utilizes 4 efficiently, and at max 6 I believe. Plus setting a higher resolution means more of the load goes to the gpu and less to the cpu (which bottlenecks) which in this case results in higher fps. And it can matter on a lot smaller things to. Computers and games are very complicated and not so straightforward
Amd shows around over 20-30fps better performance, BUT too much power consumption, it consums around 50w more compared to the i9 - rtx 3060 combination.

@@Samurai-mx4tb Yes. A ryzen 5 has only 6 cores 12 threads whereas the i9 has 10 cores 20 threads. You'll see high CPU utilization in the ryzen 5 plus better frame times with the I9. A more fair comparison would be an I5 11400 or a 11600K

High core count doesn't even matter since dx12 or dx11 titles don't use more than 4-6 cores. This is why people don't buy i9s just purely for gaming because that's a retarded investment.

@@monolit983 хорошо продуваемый корпус+видеокарта от хорошего вендора с крутым охлаждением(или с избыточным, как это получилось у меня с RX 578, которая даже под разгоном выше 68 не греется, при комфортном уровне шума естественно) Можно также вручную настроить работу куллеров. Ведь изначально от производителя настроено всё так, чтобы видеокарта была одновременно тихая, и не сильно горячая(в данном случае 75° ещё не порог). Можешь настроить работу куллеров, да будет громче, но и температуры будут меньше, по край не мере, так должно быть.

Where I live, a dual Asus 3060 is only 18 dollar less than a saphire nitro+ 6700 xt but it seems like amd's extra performance worths +18 dollars. Should i got with amd here? I think both gpus are very enough for me currently but i want it to be as future proof as possible and stable. Hello, I have these two graphics cards, and on forntite I have a lot more fps with the 3060ti (165 in epic), it's two cards with the same power in 1080p in 1440p the 6700xt and a little better, about 5% on the games of the moment. the 3060 ti for raytracing is much better
@@horosx9623 raytracing must not mean that all the lighting in the game is raytraced. Usually it's just parts. In many games, this works well. With the 30 series, raytracing is viable on both 1080p and 1440p
480$/330$ is 1.45x higher and at best in ac valhalla which is amd sponsored rx 6700 xt it's 1,43x times faster, most cases it's 30-35% faster, that doesn't justify the price increase, but now doesn't matter anyway until all this shit gets back to reality.

I can't tell the difference on either one whether I'm using the Xbox Series X via HDMI at 60 Hz, or my PC via DisplayPort at 144/165 Hz. I recently rendered a video in DaVinci Resolve at 24 FPS and I still barely notice a difference.

i play @3440x1440 with an i5 10400f b460m rx5600xt and get almost as good fps lol

How do you keep the temps so low!? I have the 6700xt and I get good fps on 1440p but the temps lay around mid 70s to low 80s most of the time

Try turning off zero RPM and put an aggressive curve.

@@slumy8195 grab one while you can, I'm aiming for the Rx 6700 Xt at 480€, 30€ more than the Rtx 3060 if you buy it online here in my country, Spain, and performs a bit better, renders with great performance, it consumes little power and performs better, definitely worth it for me, the only drawback is that when you enable Dlss technology, the frames per second drops dramatically compared to Nvidia's Rtx 3060's, but I don't care about that, I'm a video editor mainly, that ocasionally plays videogames.

@@Samurai-mx4tb Yes. A ryzen 5 has only 6 cores 12 threads whereas the i9 has 10 cores 20 threads. You'll see high CPU utilization in the ryzen 5 plus better frame times with the I9. A more fair comparison would be an I5 11400 or a 11600K
@@FatalCharade no, it'll probably run the same in any gpu heavy title. the 5600x is enough to not bottleneck either card, even a 3600 is enough for these two. High core count doesn't even matter since dx12 or dx11 titles don't use more than 4-6 cores. This is why people don't buy i9s just purely for gaming because that's a retarded investment.

Ведь многим важны температуры и они могут именно по этому смотреть ролики. А купив нужную видяху увидят что у них она на 20 градусов горячее. Я вот взял себе 1660ti пару лет назад и что то до сих пор не вижу как хоть у одного она греется как у меня 75 градусов в среднем.

Можно также вручную настроить работу куллеров. Ведь изначально от производителя настроено всё так, чтобы видеокарта была одновременно тихая, и не сильно горячая(в данном случае 75° ещё не порог). Можешь настроить работу куллеров, да будет громче, но и температуры будут меньше, по край не мере, так должно быть.
С чего это вдруг, RX 6700 XT должна быть горячее ?? Еще зависит и от охлаждения самой карты, корпуса
I want to ask a stupid question here since I don't know who to ask. When I google it , it shows a 3060ti with 8gb runs better than a 3060 with 12gb. Why would that be, or does the non ti version with more memory handle higher resolution better, or basically what's going on with that?

Where I live, a dual Asus 3060 is only 18 dollar less than a saphire nitro+ 6700 xt but it seems like amd's extra performance worths +18 dollars. Should i got with amd here? I think both gpus are very enough for me currently but i want it to be as future proof as possible and stable. I have an rx580 right now which has been very good but it's software kinda sucks :D also crashes here and there. Therefore I am hesitant to go with amd again.

@@horosx9623 raytracing must not mean that all the lighting in the game is raytraced. Usually it's just parts. In many games, this works well. With the 30 series, raytracing is viable on both 1080p and 1440p
The only drawback of amd is if u turn on ray tracing the fps drops dramatically...while its not the case with rtx3060...

480$/330$ is 1.45x higher and at best in ac valhalla which is amd sponsored rx 6700 xt it's 1,43x times faster, most cases it's 30-35% faster, that doesn't justify the price increase, but now doesn't matter anyway until all this shit gets back to reality.

Also get FSR up to DLSS performance, get RTX or at least path tracing before Nvidia does

I can't tell the difference on either one whether I'm using the Xbox Series X via HDMI at 60 Hz, or my PC via DisplayPort at 144/165 Hz. I recently rendered a video in DaVinci Resolve at 24 FPS and I still barely notice a difference.
