Ray Tracing is kinda pointless on lower end cards like a 3060 and of course AMD cards are not great with RT either. Elden Ring has terrible RT that absolutely hammers performance, I have a 4090 and it struggles with RT, particularly in some areas of the DLC where it really needs DLSS/FG.

@@tanyavondegurechaff5738 That doesn't change the fact that the 6700 XT is better than the 3060. AMD GPUs suck compared to Nvidia GPUs in RT performance. DLSS is also significantly better than FSR. Nvidia has more and better features. In terms of raster performance, though, AMD can be fairly competitive against Nvidia. AMD GPUs usually deliver better price to performance. However, I am not saying this is always the case. When it comes to VRAM, AMD definitely has the upper hand. Nvidia is ridiculously stingy with VRAM capacity. There is no denying that.
3060 is a good card. But seeing what the market can offer for a similar price tag, i do not see a point of buying it. And if you want only nvidia gpu for around this price, then you had better pay extra 20bucks and get 4060.

I watched on several youtube channels that 4060 5-12% faster in all the games, plus it uses 50w less power and it is a newer card which means you get better dls and more driver updates. I agree that you should not update if you already have 3060, but if you stuck with some old gpus and want 300$ nvidia gpu, you should definetely go with 4060.

Nvidia also sucks at raytracing on a 3060, both of these cards are tied when RT is on but 6700xt raster is much faster. Anything below a 3080/4070/7900xt isnt gonna be a great RT experience

DLSS is far weaker at 1080p than it is at 1440p or 2160p, you're not gonna do much with it. also rx 6700 xt literally matched 3060 in RT

Raytracing is overrated.
The 6700xt lost in Alan wake and hogwarts legacy by only a few fps and in cyberpunk it beats the 3060ti so it isn't that bad.
Be honest with yourself now, the majority of gamers don’t care about ray tracing. Plus ray tracing is pointless on these low end cards.
