      i guess spielberg and lucas were both going through divorces at the time which is why the movie is the only one of them all that is darker and has an annoying female lead character, until the 5th one of course she's just as annoying. funny thing though because of this movie spielberg and kate kapshaw got married and are still married to this day.

    People out there, this woman here showed to all of us one of THE finest examples of what a classy lovely lady means! You can not imagine how attractive a person can be when is humble! Add the classiness and the charm of this woman, and you get a spectacular woman! Even the toughest tongues and hearts like David's, can melt in front of such a beautiful and attractive humbleness. At the beginning of this interview, there was a cold chemistry between those two, but at the end, her character won his heart. Even if you are a giant, when you humiliate yourself (with the good way of meaning), people tend to love you, because they connect their misery that they hide inside, with your's. You become their kind of guy who they want to sit in a bar with and talk out their fears and problems. Admit it or not, nobody loves a perfect person! Because nobody is! Kate is an amazing and beautiful lady!

    "Temple of the Doom " was not "Raiders ". It was completely different. Not better, different.
    And that's the reason of the beauty of that film. And further, for the importance of the 5logy .
    Capshaw was better than great.
    And it's hard not to mention her beauty besides her performance.
    Ah, don't forget, actions in this movie taking place in 1935. Prequel of "Raiders "(1936) ,some way. (maybe as the different approach).

    • @jackbauer4186
      @jackbauer4186 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      In the 80s, every Indiana Jones film (but especially Temple of Doom) was often referred to as the 'second Raiders picture" etc. Because The first film was called Raiders of the Lost Ark, and did not contain Indiana Jones in the title. That's why Temple of Doom is often referred to as a "Raiders" movie.

    Kapshaw was heavily criticized but it wasn't so much because of her performance as it was because the character of Willie is pretty awful. It remains to this day the least appreciated female character of the trilogy (if you count all IJ movies, Phoebe Waller-Bridge takes the cake, it goes without saying). It's about the character.
    Had I been Letterman's shoes that day, I would have certainly not been mean to her. She's so lovely.

    I thought she was really good in Indiana Jones, the role itself was perhaps a bit over the top with the character shouting all of the time, but in a way it was great. Also that was the role, not her as a person or an actress so why would anyone say anything so cruel? I don't know.

    This Indiana Jones was one of the Three great Indiana Jones movies, the rest are an embarrassment to the franchise, The Crystal Skull and Dial of Destiny will go down in history as the worst, atrocious, and disastrous movies of the last two decades.

    Temple and Kate Capshaw eventually grew on me, but when it came out, you couldn't help but compare Airhead Willie to Ballbuster Marion and then sorely miss Karen Allen, who was the whole package. Nonetheless, I wish they would have brought back Willie or Short Round for Dial of Destiny even if it was a short cameo. Short Round was a stronger character than Willie in the movie because he carried everything missing from Marion/Karen Allen. He did a great job. Kate seems like a personable lady. She just got stuck with Willie, a weak character.

    She certainly seems likeable. Amazing eyes. Yea, but her character in Indiana Jones was awful. Don't know if it was her acting chops or the direction provided, but we'll charitably say that it was the bad directing. In fact, yes, it had to be the directing.
    In any case, she's cute, but it's a painfully slow start for the first half of the interview. Her story about her terrible reviews was actually the best part.
