Thanks for the great review. I fell in love with Nikki, can you recommend any similar styles? I love the low-density, edgy, messy styles. I also love Ellen Wille styles, but my circumference is 22.75". Since you have experience wearing so many brands, would you please consider making a video about cap sizes? Maybe let us know which brands seem to run average-petite and which seem average-large? I'm dealing with female pattern baldness and there are no wig stores near me. So, I have to order online and hope for the best. Thanks for all your help and advice. I was nervous about wearing wigs, but you and many other lovely TH-camrs, have become a real inspiration. ❤

This video is a great one for me, thank you! Gotta dig out my Coco. Have a Reese too but haven’t worn it as it seems overwhelming with my short neck. I can’t seem to like Brattin…..colors, stiffer.
2 months later…..Wearing my Coco every day and love it. Went to a luncheon the other day and a good friend had on the same wig, not exactly, but nearly the same color and they looked sooo different. We loved it!
My hair began to fall out in my 50's after a very protracted menopausal change experience. I'm now 87 and use only wigs.
My daughter used a silicone glue to affix the wig to my head but unfortunately it was a surgical grade glue and I can't remove this wig, can anyone help me with this? I have managed to get a small portion of the wig removed last month at the hairdressing salon but this has become very painful and irritated over the last three months. My medical insurance won't pay to have the wig removed from my head.

Love the Mid-layered Shag Cut - very Joan Lunden! Couldn’t they think of a better name? So my mom insisted on thinning out her Reese & sure enough, it was a disaster & had to be thrown out. Lesson learned is accept whatever perma-tease is in a wig or don’t get it! 😀

Because my lifelong natural hair was high density, I still want that in a wig. What no one needs anymore is permatease! I love the regular density Jon Renau Cameron. Of course, I feel badly about it being so skimpy compared to the hair I lost to illness. Thanks, Taz, as always you have something for everyone.

You have so much experience with different brands and struggle with the opposite problem that I do. You're head is petite. My head is nearly 24 inches lol.

taz..have watched for a few years. Want wigs but have to be careful money wise. Now I am going thru chemo so all my watching not in vain...ha! Love the short shaggy styles! One teeny tiny suggestion: I would suggest that you give a short turn around when first introducing the wig. I am always dying to see the back, but must wait till the end; sometimes I never do see the back. That's all 😊 Love your reviews! Kathy B

Wanted to share my story.
I always had nice hair but about 18 mos ago I began to notice my hairline was beginning to recede. I assumed it was from the difluxen cream I'd used for pre-cancerous skin lesions.
But alas it continued to worsen.
Yesterday I saw my dermatologist and my diagnosis is Frontal fibrosing alopeccia (FFA) It's quite rare but becoming increasingly diagnosed in postmenopausal women.
I was pretty devastated.
It can be controlled not reversed. So a shampoo , antibiotics & supplements were prescribed.
Thank God I had found you on TH-cam in May and had bought my first wig thanks to your gorgeous and helpful reviews .
If I had gotten this diagnosis before I knew about wigs I know I would have been inconsolable.
I wore my Upstage to the appt and the dr and nurse couldn't believe it was a wig.

I was diagnosed with FFA about 25 years ago but managed to get by with a shoulder length bob until last year. Sometimes it progresses very slowly.

My dermatologist prescribed Doxycycline Hyclate and a topical solution to be applied at hairline 2× daily called Clobetasol.
I have no inflammation only receding.
Thank you for doing these wig videos. You have such clear blue eyes and I really like some of the blonde shades best on you. I think you are possibly a clear bright winter - or summer. The warmer wigs do not do as much for your complexion and eye color as the more clear bright blonde wigs. For some reason, I don't like the Reese Champagne Blonde Rooted on you. I think the brighter more white-ish wig looks better with your complexion and eye color.
CoCo Frosty Blonde looks totally AMAZING on you! That is one of my favorite colors for you - in this video.
This looks very rich, expensive - like you are having your hair color done in Beverly Hills or La Jolla by a top stylist.
Ellen Willy Fame - Hmmmmm, not so much - I don't know if it is the dark root or the hairstyle, but this wig doesn't say "rich" like the CoCo Frosty Blonde does. Tony Bratton Impressive is too warm for you, this really tones you down - almost too much. You are so attractive in the other blonde colors, this brown shade tones you down so much that you are "blending in" - but you are born to "stand out". Noriko blonde rooted - the roots are almost too dark on you, the Coco Frosty Blonde looks so much more expensive. Tressalure Shag - great style on you, you wear this well - and this hair cut looks like you stepped out of a high end salon in Beverly Hills or La Jolla. This color is good on you, but slightly too warm. This is ok (this is much better than the Noriko champagne dark rooted), but I think that this would be better in more of a Farrah Fawcett Ash Blonde shade - rather than a wig with any gold or warmth to it. Belle Attress wig is a great blonde color, but the roots are pulling yellow on my monitor. I think the blonde color is amazing on you, but the warmth in the roots is detracting from you. It would be better with more of a walnut or charcoal/dark brown without going too warm - type root color (not black).You are clearly COOL... as far as I can tell - with my computer monitor and your camera.
Have you had your colors done by Color Me Beautiful - or another color company that uses drapes to determine your best colors? I'd be curious to know what season of colors looks best on you. I think that would really help you determine the best shades of wigs for future purchases!

Terminology is helpful. When I think of density I also think of height on top of the head. I am a person that used to wear my bio hair away from my face, usually in a up-do of sorts with no bangs, so wigs are frustrating for me. I wanted to know why I'm dissatisfied with the wigs I buy so I started observing everyday common people and their natural hair. What I realized is all the people I witnessed did not have volumes of hair on top of their head. I would love to accomplish that look, something that is suitable for an aging face. I just want to look natural. I don't want to have to clip the wig back to keep it from falling in my face. From what I've seen the only wigs that look more natural are long and mostly straight(ish), which may not be the most flattering on a aging face. Spending hours scouring sites for wigs is more than frustrating not to mention everything seems to look the same after a while. I wish I knew the answer. Getting desperate for a new wig or topper (which has it's own challenges), or my bio hair back. (just wishful thinking) Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all could look beautiful in every wig we put on like you do.
I feel your pain. Every wig I buy, I either thin it myself or have my hairdresser thin it. When I do it myself, I put the thinning shears close to the base of the hair to get rid of some of the bulk and do it in layers. I never thin the top layer so it can cover where you've thinned. And, I chose a style with as little permatease as possible. Not a fan. If it's long "hair", it can be cut to the length that suits your face and also styled. I find that having it cut to frame the face makes a big difference. I usually buy "hair" with a monofilament part and then (carefully) pluck the part to make it look realistic. I've been wearing hair for many years now and these are things I've learned that make it look realistic. Namaste.
sherryflowers, I feel your pain. My super-thick, voluminous hair was always worn off my face, usually in a soft updo, or at shoulder length and held back by a toothed band. I despise hair in my eyes, and today's wigs are all about uncontrollable fronts. At 72, I don't want long wigs, either. The only wig I like is Jon Renau's Cameron, in regular density. No permatease. I'm stuck with this expensive hand tied wig because I wear a large wig cap. It costs right under $500 and that's just stupid for a synthetic hair wig. If you can wear medium or petite, look at Renau's synthetic, machine made version of this wig. It's called Kristin or Kristi. Anyway, it's less expensive, and not being hand tied, it's easier to wash. You'll still have to use a barrette on one side to keep the hair our of your face, but at least give it a look online. It's a great wig for an older, distinguished lady! Best of luck to you. (And yes, I want my wonderful bio-hair back!!!)

I just bought coco,coffee latte but smells like gas,so i'm planning to exchange it to another one,do u think th smell gas is natural to this wig? The wig of Rachel Welch has a natural smell,so i don't know if u knew some wig smells like gas..thank u for any helpful comment u can share me..God Bless
Yes, you can get a variety of smells.. you have to remember, these wigs are made of plastic.. which is a petroleum product XOXO

Hi Taz - This video was so helpful! Do you by chance have an alternate recommendation for BT Nikki? Of course it was my favorite of the group and it's been discontinued. I tried wearing wigs about 6 years ago and gave up and I'm jumping back in and need something like Nikki, very low density and short pixie. Thanks for all you do for us!!!!
Belle Tress Intensity is the only one that comes close to Nikki, but it doesn't have the wave that Nikki does.. I do love Intensity also! XOXO
