I'll be 71 in 18 days and for 10 yrs I've used pink temporary dye on the hair in front of my ears & across the top bang area. The rest of my hair is white like Shellys' is. I just couldn't deal with myself looking so pale with all-white hair. I have thoes scrunchy buns and fake ponytails for summer looks. Wish I could wear wigs but I still get hot flashes when I have to many clothes on. A wig would be like a hat for me and make my head too warm. So not only do I dye my hair pink. I have 6 ear piercings in each ear 2 in each ear are gauged, I have a industrial piercing in my right ear and I'm working on getting the spider vains on my calves tattooed. I've had 4 done already I have a few more to go. I will never be pigeonholed into looking like an old lady cause I will never be one no matter how old I get.

I hoped I'd be able to wear them again now. I did used to dye the front of my hair purple but one wash and most of it fades too pale pale pink. Anyway, it makes me happy to know there are rebels of our age still going strong 😁 x
@@kitsirainbowfineart You know we are! As for hot flashes, I just can't get rid of them, I can't take HRT cause I had breast cancer in my left breast. It was taken care of easily with surgery and no kemo as it didn't go into my lymph nodes. It was all contained in just the breast. But my hot flashes just won't go away. I can't ware anything long sleve unless I can take it off really fast when an episode hits. I don't get cold in the winter though. which is nice cause when I was young I was a freeeze baby with cold toes, fingers and nose all winter long. Now I ware tank tops and shorts all yrs long around my house. I only sleep with a flannel top sheet as a winter blanket. And to go out in the winter I only have to put on a med-weight coat with a hood on it for any wind that might be blowing. I almost never get cold unless in AC for too long. Can't handle that even with hot flashes. I'm all messed up when it comes to my body's tempurature. Oh, the reason my pink stays in for so long is I don't have to wash my hair that often. My hair got curlier as it got whiter. I use mouse to define the curls and sleep in a satin bonnet cause my neck sweats at night. So I don't find the need to wash my hair that much which leaves the temp dye in longer. Even if I want to brighten it up I use hair chalk or soft art chalk to bring the color back in between the dying. I often let it go pretty pale a lot though. Besides slapping some dye on just that small portion of hair only takes like 10 min not counting the time I let it process. Processing time depends on how bright I want the pink. I usually redye it once a mth. Rebel is putting it mild for me. I may have a total anti-establishment gene in me. I've never been normally what my age should be, whatever that should look like, according to someone elses ideas.

Due to Hashimoto's I am permanently bald to halfway my head. For now I have a hairpiece witch my hairdresser glues to my head. It's quite expensive but it lasts for over 5 weeks and looks very natural. Seeing your video shows me that there are altrnatives. Thank you for sharing!
I started with Amazon Is. Learning the work to make them more believable really helps because I've bought a couple that cost more. On sale, the prices aren't bad, usually the reason is fewer colors. If you keep watch you will find affordable ones. The more expensive ones can eliminate a lot of the changes the cheap wigs need but I've still had to make styling changes. The good news, I wasn't afraid.
@debistanley2791 Thanks for weighing in. The inexpensive Amazon wigs I have kept don't really require any work for me to wear them. I usually choose banged wigs so I don't have to worry about fake looking hairlines. I choose wigs that have some volume on top and/or curls/waves around the face because I've found that wigs that fit flat and close to your head like bowls or helmets do look fake. I return any Amazon wigs that cannot be worn without modification. :-)
The green one is definitely the best! The headband really makes it and the curls are beautiful. 💚 It's amazing how nice these cheap wigs turned out to be. Much better quality than you used to get for that price and higher.

The green one with the headband looks surprisingly good. When I first saw the green my brain kinda paused, followed by a oh wow! Using the headband to hide the edge is a really really great idea.

Have never thought to go for wigs but as age progresses and health deteriorates, my hair is no longer my crowning glory. Have never seen anyone here on TH-cam trying on wigs. Thank you for your fun approach and not getting too heavy about it all. Would love a little more info such as how secure any you kept were on wearing and any pros and cons. Hi. I am glad I was able to bring a smile to you! I am new to TH-cam so you will see all my bloopers! If a wig seems exceptionally loose, I may use a couple of bobby pins to secure it. Another item many folks use is a wig grip. Wig grips slide up on me in the back because I do not have a pronounced occipital bone. If I wear a wig grip, I usually use two pressure clips at the nape to keep the wig grip in place. I hope this is helpful.

As someone who is experiencing hair loss in my mid 30s my self esteem has taken a hit, but seeing you try all these wigs on I think I may indulge in a few of these budget friendly options to try out what I want in an "investment" wig that would be more sustainable long term. It'll be fun to surprise my husband with different looks😁

Great video! I got an ombre brown one from Hair Cube on Amazon. I used it as a topper. My husband didn't even notice, while my son only said, "your hair looks lighter today." Amazon wigs are fun.
The green one, definitely. My imagination says that that's a hairstyle & color that you would see on a mythical woodland fairy. Very cute & looks best on you, and in my opinion it's a very flattering style for you. 🧚🏼♀️

I loved the green wig, too, but I think that besides being a fun color, the headband gave it a more styled look, and it created a great line for your face shape. I have a styrofoam head, and use wig pins to secure and style mine first. The bangs are always unruly. And my tip for the hot flashes is to get some chemical reaction ice packs, keep them in your purse, and put them in your bra as needed! Thanks for sharing this!

I really enjoyed watching this! Thank you for showing these wigs. I have Cutaneous Lupus and Alpecia so I am losing my hair on the top and sides of my head. I have no clue what to get in a wig and I didn't know they were so inexpensive.! I feel encouraged that I can buy some and send them back if they don't look good. This was wonderful to see and you are beautiful! All the wigs looked awesome on you.
The first wig(blond one) was not bad at all for a cheap wig. It looked great on you. I love the pink one too. Twilight’s eye look like crystals/gems with facets in them! So cute! The last red wig is very cute also. So wavy, I love it!

I was so surprised 2 find that someone else actually goes to the trouble of looking thru so many brands & trying to find the bargain wigs that are on sale for under $20 & in some cases under $15or $10 even,lol!! I think most of the units u got looked pretty & all were adorable on you. I think 1 of the main secrets to not getting a totally fake looking 1,is 2 make sure they have bangs if they arent lace front..Also,green is my fav.color & I always find 1s on sale that look good,so I put em(& some others I like the look of with wild/un-natural coloringing that I ❤) in my cart,but always lose my nerve & never wind up getting them..I was worried about the map of beauty wigs,cuz I only see ppl.get them 4 cosplay/costumes,but seeing how cute & natural or realistic the 2 were on you, actually helped 2 change my mind & go ahead & try a couple that I saw in the last few days & decided 2 pass up thinking they would look plasticy,but hey apparently dont,lol!! This whole video really kinda inspired me 2 go on & get a batch of the bargain 1s I haved saved in my cart rn,& not be as worried about the quality as I have been. Maybe some day I'll do a review that features the bargains I was able 2 find on Amazon & make a fun video like this 1 too!

Hi Cindy. It may take time to find a wig you like. That is the great thing about Amazon Prime. As long as you do not brush them or alter them in any way, you can repackage and send back any that do not suit you. I think one of the mistakes new wig wearers make is to wear the wig too far forward on their forehead. The hairline of the wig should sit at your natural hairline, or approximately 4 fingers above your eyebrows. I hope this helps, and I hope you will give wigs another try!
You look STUNNING in the red one that was on the paper towel roll!!! That color just does something extra special for you! Not that you aren't pretty in all of them but that one is just magical! ETA: The ginger one right after is extra special too!! Maybe yr meant to be a redhead!! 💚

My natural color was dark brown, and my hair dresser said he wouldn't color my hair red because of the damage stripping the brown coloring would cause to the integrity of my hair. Fast forward to today. And now I can be any color I want to be. And I do wear a lot of reds! :-)

Hi. Hope you enjoyed the video and will give Amazon wigs a try. Just remember these are fashion wigs and cannot be compared to the expensive hair replacement wigs on the market. That said, many of these wigs are really good quality and have very nice hair fibers. I love all the options these wigs provide at such an inexoensive price.

@Beth Clark Amazon also carries some human hair wigs, but they will be more expensive than the ones I showcased.

Due to Hashimoto's I am permanently bald to halfway my head. For now I have a hairpiece witch my hairdresser glues to my head. It's quite expensive but it lasts for over 5 weeks and looks very natural. Seeing your video shows me that there are altrnatives. Thank you for sharing!

I started with Amazon Is. Learning the work to make them more believable really helps because I've bought a couple that cost more. On sale, the prices aren't bad, usually the reason is fewer colors. If you keep watch you will find affordable ones. The more expensive ones can eliminate a lot of the changes the cheap wigs need but I've still had to make styling changes. The good news, I wasn't afraid.
@debistanley2791 Thanks for weighing in. The inexpensive Amazon wigs I have kept don't really require any work for me to wear them. I usually choose banged wigs so I don't have to worry about fake looking hairlines. I choose wigs that have some volume on top and/or curls/waves around the face because I've found that wigs that fit flat and close to your head like bowls or helmets do look fake. I return any Amazon wigs that cannot be worn without modification. :-)
The green one is definitely the best! The headband really makes it and the curls are beautiful. 💚 It's amazing how nice these cheap wigs turned out to be. Much better quality than you used to get for that price and higher.

Have never thought to go for wigs but as age progresses and health deteriorates, my hair is no longer my crowning glory. Have never seen anyone here on TH-cam trying on wigs. Hi. I am glad I was able to bring a smile to you! I am new to TH-cam so you will see all my bloopers! If a wig seems exceptionally loose, I may use a couple of bobby pins to secure it. Another item many folks use is a wig grip. Wig grips slide up on me in the back because I do not have a pronounced occipital bone. If I wear a wig grip, I usually use two pressure clips at the nape to keep the wig grip in place. I hope this is helpful.

I loved the green wig, too, but I think that besides being a fun color, the headband gave it a more styled look, and it created a great line for your face shape. I have a styrofoam head, and use wig pins to secure and style mine first. The bangs are always unruly. And my tip for the hot flashes is to get some chemical reaction ice packs, keep them in your purse, and put them in your bra as needed! Thanks for sharing this!

I have no clue what to get in a wig and I didn't know they were so inexpensive.! I feel encouraged that I can buy some and send them back if they don't look good. The first wig(blond one) was not bad at all for a cheap wig. It looked great on you. I love the pink one too. Twilight’s eye look like crystals/gems with facets in them! So cute! The last red wig is very cute also. So wavy, I love it!

I was so surprised 2 find that someone else actually goes to the trouble of looking thru so many brands & trying to find the bargain wigs that are on sale for under $20 & in some cases under $15or $10 even,lol!! I think most of the units u got looked pretty & all were adorable on you. I think 1 of the main secrets to not getting a totally fake looking 1,is 2 make sure they have bangs if they arent lace front..Also,green is my fav.color & I always find 1s on sale that look good,so I put em(& some others I like the look of with wild/un-natural coloringing that I ❤) in my cart,but always lose my nerve & never wind up getting them..I was worried about the map of beauty wigs,cuz I only see ppl.get them 4 cosplay/costumes,but seeing how cute & natural or realistic the 2 were on you, actually helped 2 change my mind & go ahead & try a couple that I saw in the last few days & decided 2 pass up thinking they would look plasticy,but hey apparently dont,lol!! This whole video really kinda inspired me 2 go on & get a batch of the bargain 1s I haved saved in my cart rn,& not be as worried about the quality as I have been. Maybe some day I'll do a review that features the bargains I was able 2 find on Amazon & make a fun video like this 1 too!

Hi Cindy. It may take time to find a wig you like. That is the great thing about Amazon Prime. As long as you do not brush them or alter them in any way, you can repackage and send back any that do not suit you. I think one of the mistakes new wig wearers make is to wear the wig too far forward on their forehead. The hairline of the wig should sit at your natural hairline, or approximately 4 fingers above your eyebrows. I hope this helps, and I hope you will give wigs another try!

My natural color was dark brown, and my hair dresser said he wouldn't color my hair red because of the damage stripping the brown coloring would cause to the integrity of my hair. Fast forward to today. And now I can be any color I want to be. And I do wear a lot of reds! :-)

What color is yr natural hair now? I am 54 now & mine is partly still holding some black dye & other parts are a not pretty yellowish grey. If it was silver or white or a pretty grey, I'd love it but its wiry like Einstein lol & is the gross yellowed color of an old smokers moustache. YUCK!

Hi. Hope you enjoyed the video and will give Amazon wigs a try. Just remember these are fashion wigs and cannot be compared to the expensive hair replacement wigs on the market. That said, many of these wigs are really good quality and have very nice hair fibers. I love all the options these wigs provide at such an inexoensive price.
