  • In this video we get the Maiden flight in on the Goblin RAW 700 KSE! We ran into a few issues and didn’t have the power we should and head speed was way down! But problem is fixed and it has tons of power now! Stay tuned for the second flight!

    If you wouldn't mine. I'm sure I'm not the only one who wouldn't mind watching a video of how you tune it and some basic understanding on what you're doing. I'm super interested in learning from your knowledge! Thank you for all the videos, and the time you spend to make sure we're happy.

      I definitely plan on making a video about that! Maybe not this one but one that more people could get more useful knowledge out of. Three blades are a different category altogether, but I’m definitely going to make a video on it! I appreciate you watching! Thank you!

    Wonderful Maiden Flight Jeff! I think you're double excited and half nervous. Once you get this dialed in, it's going to be Spectacular! Thanks for sharing my friend. Best to You and your Family, always!

      Thank you Larry! I always appreciate it! Second flight was much better, head speed was where it is supposed to be power is there! Flight performance was 100 times better lol! Stay tuned! Have a great one! I hope you and family had a great and safe Halloween!

      @@westhobbiesrc8051 Thank you very much Jeff! Did you take your little Angel out Trick or Treating? It's great to see the kids out and enjoying the Holiday like they used to! Bit by bit we get our lives back.

    So sick! And yeah that is a weird issue. Let us know what you find out.

      So I figured it out, I had the wrong pole count selected in the governor section of the iKON. Once I selected the proper Pole count the head speed came back to what it was supposed to be no more fluctuation.

    Ive watched numerous maiden flight videos and no one seems to check blade tracking anymore, your set up skills can't be that perfect that its no longer needed.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051

      But they are! Lol no, it’s all about setup. I use pitch gauge. No need for checking tracking. If each blade is 0 degrees at mid stick then your blades will be perfectly in track.

      I think it's time I bought a new pitch gauge...and maybe its time I upgrade from my 1996 X-Cell .60 to something more this century. 😀🇦🇺

    What an awesome heli! 💯 And needless to say, great flying skills. Thanks for sharing. I'll be interested in how you changed the values to get rid of the sloppy tail thatd bounces back.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I greatly appreciate it, so 85% of the sloppy tail is fixed now just by running a higher head speed or I should say the correct head speed lol it was down big time on head to speed. Tails our gear ratio owed for a certain speed. So when you run a lower head speed then your tail is always going to be sloppy unless you speed the tail up to match the particular rpm you were trying to achieve. But there is a section in the iKon for tail bounce back and tail stops to try to get the most solid tail control you can.

    What is the benefit to having a triblade?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Three blades have one more blade of lift. So you’re gonna have more lift a lighter feeling helicopter more cyclic ability and authority. A faster rotation of the model.

  • @1981billiam
    @1981billiam ปีที่แล้ว +2

    J I’m was told those tri blades like low gains.

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes three bladed helicopters run a lower gain mainly because you have another blade. Also your gain adjustments are more sensitive because of that third blade.

    Hi how do u tune tail bounce back

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On iKon? In advanced menus under tail you would adjust P and I until the bounce goes away.

    Why 3 blade over 2? Which sounds better?

    • @westhobbiesrc8051
      @westhobbiesrc8051  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A few reasons, three blade helis have more lift, faster cyclic response as well as more pitch response. Three blade helis will always sound better then two blades and they really have a different sound.

    Like it what happened to bring the head speed up to fast live the slow speed

      So after that flight I went home and pulled the blades. I grabbed my old airplane tachometer and it will do two and three bladed props. So I tapped the actual head speed. It was super low! 1100-1300-1800. Which is not what I had set at all! So after playing with it for probably two hours I finally realized that I had the wrong pole count selected in the iKON. Fixed it and problem solved have all the power!
