In this session, Aavo Lang will provide an in-depth look at the structure of doctoral studies, covering key topics such as regulations, governance, and requirements from admission to graduation. The discussion will also highlight IT solutions and processes that streamline the doctoral journey in the Faculty of Medicine.
Aavo Lang graduated with an MD from the University of Tartu, where he also completed his PhD. Currently, his primary role is teaching human physiology to medical and dentistry students. In addition, he holds a part-time position at the Faculty of Medicine, where he focuses on reforming doctoral studies, drafting regulations, and overseeing the admission, follow-up, and defence processes.
His diverse professional experience includes work at the University of Helsinki and Nottingham University. Aavo Lang has been actively involved in laboratory animal science, serving on the editorial board of scientific journals, the Scand-LAS board, and contributing to various European networks.
