Two stroke power! Evinrude Etecs are awesome engines. Much more low end / mid range torque than four strokes, while being lighter and with less maintenance and moving parts. Best engines on the market!
I use an aluminum prop because I fish in very rocky lakes and bang up one or two props a year. As to what is the right one, it really depends on a lot of variables. Ideally on the 75 or 90 you want to run 5200 rpms with your maximum load. You the the cavitation plate to just out of the water when on plane and trimmed up. This may require changing the holes you are in up our down. Usually each hole will change about a 100 to a 150 rpms. Dealer should help sort this out for you.
I don't remember which prop was. I am out in Arizona now so it'd be a little difficult for me to check and see. I do know it was a stainless when I ran ran the 42 mile an hour.
nice run there. I have had several 70 johnsons, i like them but wondering if its time to upgrade. What prop are you running on that to get 42mph? I have a small ski boat and thats pretty much all i get from a 12 3/4 x 23 prop
I see, ok cool. Yeah its still at the dealer- ill have too ask him. I don't know shit about it...I'm use too small 14 ft lund with a 25 tiller..from 73' .. it worked' but was time for a upgrade.

Well, no. The inside is a mess, the evinrude screwed up. Imho.

That runs faster than my mercury 115
42 MPH is the fastest I have had it. In that old Bluefin that's fast enough.
Try starting the MERCURY.

The new 2.1 liter MERCURY 4 stroke 75 hp would be a much better choice.
Not when this is almost a 100 lbs lighter.
