    I own a V6 and anticipate using it til it dies. Dyson keeps making these stronger and heavier, completely counter to their best use: make cleaning so easy you do it a little at a time as needed.

      Like you i have a v6, - and it just got “new life” the tube-filter - i took it apart, (used to rinse it under the running water) ... but a lot gathers inside. It was like a concrete cone inside. - after i removed that and then cleaned it again it was like getting a new vacuum) (use a butter knife to loosen the tube filter, there is 3 spots where you put it in and press.... there are videos with it in here somewhere) ..... but like you i think they get heavier and bigger, and that is not a pro, so i bought a v8 and keep in the closet unopened, so i have that when the v6 gives up. (V6 is very old now) but with ms they new models are too heavy

    Just got my 1st Dyson this morning. The V 11 Torque Drive is a beautiful vacuum. I used it for the 1st time this evening. I noticed immediately that the device is heavy! I switch hands because I have mild tendinitis in my right arm. The suction is however awesome. I'm gonna try again tomorrow but if my arm hurts I probably will return. I'm sad because I really wanted this to work after doing years of research . I got mine from Costco.

    It would be cool to see cordless small ball upright from Dyson. Many people just don't like the stick vacuums due to the high handle weight, lack of hose, awkward to use tools and it doesn't stand up by itself.
    Dyson saw a lot of effort to design their ball uprights to reduce the handle weight. We need to get the cordless version upright.

    Thanks for sharing. I don't think I'm going to mind the extra weight being that the pay off is the better battery and bigger canister for more dirt etc.

    You didn’t have the front vents all the way open.... that’s part of how you should use it on bare floors.

    I’ve watched many of your videos and like how you have separate like and dislike ones. The luer of cordless of course had me researching all options, but functionality never stacked up. Having hardwood in all living space, tile in bathrooms and carpeted bedrooms I wanted something for all. I settled on the Shark HZ390. Having kids I need to do the hardwood, living space, daily. The duohead cleans right up to the skirting boards and it has a non hair wrap. The flex wand cleans under the sofas without having to move them too. Fantastic on my medium pile carpet too. If interrupted whilst vacuuming it’s easy to depress the button so the top half bends over and the unit remains standing.
    Thank you for helping me decide!

    Have had a V11 for a while now and agree with all comments. Additionally I purchased on Ebay a short flexi hose which is a must for cars to get into tight spots. Because of heavy head it saves a lot of strain and energy when reaching up to vacuum cobwebs and dust etc from picture frames, doors, ceilings and worktops where wand isn't required. Tool holding station is also available on Ebay. Saves the pain in the but of always losing them.
    Both tools can be purchased for a total of around £15. It's so annoying these tools are missing because of being extremely useful. Two less powerful batteries would be much better because of less weight, saving wrist ache.
    If you're lacking in muscle power, then a V7 is the model for you. Less power but still an excellent machine which does a great job. Have used a V7 so great for smaller a two bedroom flat. So much better being cordless because of being able to reach easily under most furnature that any corded cleaner wouldn't and much faster too...

    I'm having problems with my V11 on hardwoods. I feel like it shoots stuff everywhere. Also when you pull backwards, it just pushes stuff back rather than roll over it and suck it up. I just bought the soft roller head for another $125. Hoping that helps, but I'm not sure if the suction is as good with that head. Honestly, I have a $100 (corded) Dirt Devil stick vacuum, and I feel it's better. I just wanted to go cordless.

      @Jam definitely. Night and day difference!! It picks up way more stuff and the battery lasts like three times longer. The bin has a ton more fine dirt in it now. I was surprised.

    • @ChunkyMonkaayyy
      @ChunkyMonkaayyy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Jam I don't know what the difference is between the two. If it's only the heads, then yes, absolutely I would've got the V10 over the V11. In my opinion, the carpet head is useless on bare floors.

      How are you liking your Dyson V11?

  • @Ecksterphono
    @Ecksterphono 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The SV15 is the V11 upgrade with the removable battery, and the stronger anchor support and triangulation of the trigger to prevent it from breaking, heat was the issue that weakened the anchor point of the trigger from the battery transferring the heat up to the handle when the battery got lower on the charge end. To prevent motor drop off and loss of suction as battery power runs down the BCM ups the amperage to prevent drop off this is flawed because upping the amperage increases the temperatures and takes its toll on the thermistors causing error codes eventually on boost mode. This will eventually lead to motor failure. This is one failure with the Dysons V10 and upwards. The part number for the the upgrade. Main body and cyclone is 965321-01 and was introduced in 2022. The upgrade was already put in place for the Dyson V11 absolute pro with the gold cover and removable battery. If your going to upgrade the main body, you have to purchase the battery or batteries separately. Also note. No parts such as trigger assemblies do not interchange with the earlier Dyson V11 main body.

    Thank you for these videos. I find all the Dysons have similar issues: They are miserable to empty and clean if you do have pet hair ( "Animal " designation notwithstanding ) as there is no such thing as simply pushing the release button and having debris fall neatly into the trash. You have to reach in and pull the crud out manually. The handle is designed so that you get a sore thumb knuckle from rubbing against the plastic. Aaaand, all the more reasonably priced ones do not pick up debris worth a damn. Its basically a $500 swiffer. Even a Swiffer can pick up cheerios or chip pieces off hard floors. The "Animal" can't. I'm still waiting for a really good cordless, and not willing to fork out $600 either way.

    II am on my second v11. First one the red trigger didn’t work and I exchanged it. Second one the suction is off and the error code comes on. I took and cleaned the filter and can not figure out why on carpets it works and then goes off either the error light point long to suction issues. First one did it too but when I cleaned the filter it went away.
    Bottom line it’s the best vacuum I ever had. When it works. For around $500 I expect it to work all the time.

    Hi I just bought a V11 and the high torque drive vibrates a lot. It’s super noisy on hard floor. The tools attached on the wands also vibrating a lot. All the parts seems to be there, the bearing is ok. I can feel the vibrations up to my hand. Have you ever heard about that? The batteries on the V11 are now clickable just to let you know.

  • @dotsona07

    I don't think the swappable battery is really needed now that the run time is so good. I can't see myself vacuuming for more than 30 minutes. Heck with my v8 I rarely run out of power.

      Andrew Dotson see what’s where I disagree, I have a husky, 3 Pomeranians, and 3 cats. 4 birds also so there are feathers everywhere. I vacuum for about 4-5 hours at a clip so a swappable battery would totally make the difference for me and is in fact why I do not own the cordless ones. I tried them out and returned it and got the corded ball animal 2 instead.

    Quick question-do you know if the motor heads are interchangeable between models. For example could I use my V8 soft motor head for hard wood/tile on the new V11?

    • @VacuumAdvisor
      @VacuumAdvisor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey GB. I tried my V8 soft roller cleaner head (came with our V8 Absolute) on the new V11 and it worked. Although I do notice that my V8 soft roller cleaner head is 16.2 V / 20 Watts and my V10 and V11 soft roller cleaner heads are 16.2 V / 30 Watts. Also I noticed that the soft roller cleaner head on our V6 did not click into place on the end of the V11.

    I own an apartment that’s just over 900 sq ft, with one third carpet and the rest is laminate flooring. Would you consider this a good enough vacuum for my place or is a stick vacuum really only good enough for spot duty and a true upright with a cord a better option?

    • @3of11
      @3of11 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If its all or mostly floor, you'll definetly be fine. For mostly carpeted places, it still works fine as a daily cleaner but maybe you will want a "real" bagged corded upright for moving in/out or annual deep cleanings. For our 2000sqft multi floor home, weve used a V6 ultimate for years now as a daily cleaner on tile and carpet, works fantastic. We keep a small inexpensive upright bagged corded one for aforementioned deep cleanings or "company is coming and the whole house needs to be done, no time for charging"

    Can we buy the soft roller brush separately for our v11 torque? would it fit?

    • @VacuumAdvisor
      @VacuumAdvisor  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes you should be able to buy it separately (maybe check Amazon or dyson.com). Make sure you get the right one (the seller should indicate it will work with the V11) and it should fit your Torque Drive.
      I have also noticed the following:
      V8 soft roller cleaner head - 16.2 V, 20 Watts
      V10 soft roller cleaner head - 16.2 V, 30 Watts
      V11 soft roller cleaner head - 16.2 V, 30 Watts
      The cleaner heads all look very similar and I tried each one on our V11 Absolute and they all ran. I am not suggesting you mix and match these - I don't know if there may be issues I am not aware of. But this is what I have observed.

  • @blackice7408
    @blackice7408 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I guess the reason why they dont make dual batteries is to reduce battery wastes and because the battery on the v11 is strong and long enough that a second battery might not be needed because you can now actually run the torque drive head on eco suction for over an hr at once. Unless you have a mansion, one battery might be enough

    • @blakaeg
      @blakaeg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The reason is because Dyson is unable to engineer a reliable 'click' system for their cordless machines. It failed on the DC35 that's why they changed the design on the DC35 to a screw in battery. Do remember that these are just 'agitating' the carpet with little suction to do a through job. So I never recommend these to replace a full size machine, plus the batteries will wear out anyway and Dyson want the customer to either buy a new battery or buy a new Dyson. They are the Apple of vacuum cleaners. High price for average fragile product. Dyson would not make a profit if your batteries lasted years and years if they supplied you with two of them!!

    • @blackice7408
      @blackice7408 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blakaeg never base how good a vacuum cleaner is on suction alone. The design of the cleaner head with a small footprint makes the suction perfect for the machine. Eco is perfect for everyday cleaning. Medium or auto is powerful. And boost for the vac is ultra cocaine mode. Suction is not enough. You have an ultra powerful and smart 100 watt torque drive cleaner head that digs deep into the fibers of the carpet and suction level eco is just perfect for regular cleaning. The seal with how the head is designed can make low suction act like powerful suction from an upright. Reasons why uprights use alot of suction is because of how big they are so they have to work with a bigger area. And because how many suction leaks are around the cleaner head

    • @sprockkets
