Yes, we do actually take quizzes on this at American schools. We have to know the states, important cities, and the regions. The way they split it up makes it easier.
Macen Anderson what my school did was when we started the lesson we had a blank map and had to fill it in and we all did absolutely terrible and then we got maps split by region to learn them and at the end of the lesson we had to take the whole map quiz again and I got a hundred. Little fifth grade me was so proud of that but now I’m kinda bad at it
Hunter Royston Here you go: Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick
Illinois and Missouri. Since I'm in Illinois but close to st.louis. it's ok though, it's not like the Arch is the gateway to the west or anything. But hey, I do understand the Midwest isn't all that popular but we ain't small states either.
Nunavut, British Columbia, Yukon, New Foundland and Labrador , Ontario, Prince Edward islands, Alberta, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, and Nova fucking scotia. There bitch an American just checked you without the help of google. But with basic knowledge.
My Canadian relatives live not that far from Maine in New Brunswick, Canada. But I'm American and lives in Virginia and I think I could've done a whole lot better with naming the 50 states since I've had lived in four of them and been to about 36 of those states in my lifetime with only about 19 of them that I've hadn't been to yet. This is because I am a pure blooded French Canadian American by blood. And I am pretty sure from my mother's side could even have either 3rd or 4th cousins still living in Quebec, Canada since my mother's side first entered the United States of America in 1884 from Quebec itself. Only my father's side are in New Brunswick, Canada since his family left Quebec for New Brunswick in 1843 or 1844 and then his family entered the USA through Maine in 1851 and they did went back and forth between New Brunswick and Maine between 1851 and 1957 with some of his first cousins still in New Brunswick today. And that's just the St. Pierre family side when my dad's parents finally settled in Maine from 1957 to 1962 or 1963. Sometime around 1962 or 1963 my father's parents finally settled in Rhode Island where my father grew up for the rest of his childhood. Then my father enlisted into the United States Marine Corps at age 19 in March of 1979 and spent 23 years in the US military. Which is why I had lived in four US states and had been to so many other states within the United States of America since I had to travel through most of them because I had to move around during my entire childhood from birth to the age of 15 since I was 17 when my father finally retired from the military. I also had lived overseas just once outside of the US from birth to the age of 2 and a half years old before moving to the states permanently.
You're right it's actually 31 states with only 19 that I hadn't been to. My math was a bit wrong. Math was never my best subject in school and still isn't today either. But I have been to most of all the states on the east coast if I could remember correctly. The only east coast states I hadn't been to are Maine, Georgia, and Florida. I also hadn't been to Alaska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Wyoming, Idaho, Iowa, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Michigan. Those are the 19 states I've not been to yet. But the rest of them I believe I have some memory of passing through or has been to in my lifetime. But for the state of Hawaii I have been there but I was way too young to remember being there since I went to Hawaii when I was only 2 years old. So all I remember going to Hawaii for back then was for mental health tests at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. So I'd like to go back to Hawaii again but this time as an adult so I could have a better memory of that state other than trying to remember my trip there when I was 2 years old. My military brat days of my life I think made me into the type of person who loves to travel and now wishes he could do more of that traveling now today. But since I'm not in a good position in my life now where I could do more traveling even abroad as well outside of the United States since I hadn't been outside the United States of America since I was 2 years old back when I lived in Japan for nearly 3 years since my parents lived in Japan for 3 years exactly. Since my mother went to Japan pregnant with me and came back to the states pregnant with my baby brother.
Lol ya! Im in grade 6 and one day at school in class we were playing Kahoot and one of the questions was “Whats the capital of Nova Scotia” and there was like 3 people who got it right counting me. And its ironic because about a month ago i was reading a book in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

@@ithinkmydogisacat251 Actually Lake Michigan is the only Great Lake that does not border Canada and all the Great Lakes border the United States meaning even if counted Lake Michigan as part of Lake Huron the Lakes would still be jointly owned by America and Canada.
The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S.) or America, is a federal republic composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions. At 3.8 million square miles (9.8 million km2) and with over 325 million people, the United States is the world's third- or fourth-largest country by total area and the third-most populous country. The capital is Washington, D.C., and the largest city by population is New York City. Forty-eight states and the capital's federal district are contiguous and in North America between Canada and Mexico. The State of Alaska is in the northwest corner of North America, bordered by Canada to the east and across the Bering Strait from Russia to the west. The State of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific Ocean. The U.S. territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, stretching across nine official time zones. The extremely diverse geography, climate, and wildlife of the United States make it one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries. Paleo-Indians migrated from Russia to the North American mainland at least 15,000 years ago. European colonization began in the 16th century. The United States emerged from the thirteen British colonies established along the East Coast. Numerous disputes between Great Britain and the colonies following the French and Indian War led to the American Revolution, which began in 1775, and the subsequent Declaration of Independence in 1776. The war ended in 1783 with the United States becoming the first country to gain independence from a European power. The current constitution was adopted in 1788, with the first ten amendments, collectively named the Bill of Rights, being ratified in 1791 to guarantee many fundamental civil liberties. The United States embarked on a vigorous expansion across North America throughout the 19th century, acquiring new territories, displacing Native American tribes, and gradually admitting new states until it spanned the continent by 1848. During the second half of the 19th century, the Civil War led to the abolition of slavery. By the end of the century, the United States had extended into the Pacific Ocean, and its economy, driven in large part by the Industrial Revolution, began to soar. The Spanish-American War and World War I confirmed the country's status as a global military power. The United States emerged from World War II as a global superpower, the first country to develop nuclear weapons, the only country to use them in warfare, and a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. During the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union competed in the Space Race, culminating with the 1969 moon landing. The end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 left the United States as the world's sole superpower. The United States is the world's oldest surviving federation. It is a representative democracy, "in which majority rule is tempered by minority rights protected by law". The United States is a founding member of the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, Organization of American States (OAS), and other international organizations. The United States is a highly developed country, with the world's largest economy by nominal GDP and second-largest economy by PPP, accounting for approximately a quarter of global GDP. The U.S. economy is largely post-industrial, characterized by the dominance of services and knowledge-based activities, although the manufacturing sector remains the second-largest in the world. The United States is the world's largest importer and the second largest exporter of goods. Though its population is only 4.3% of the world total, the U.S. holds 33.4% of the total wealth in the world, the largest share of global wealth concentrated in a single country. The United States ranks among the highest nations in several measures of socioeconomic performance, including average wage, human development, per capita GDP, and productivity per person. The U.S. is the foremost military power in the world, making up a third of global military spending, and is a leading political, cultural, and scientific force internationally.
I know.. all these Americans in the comments going “wow so bad he should know more” like I doubt you can name more than 2 or 3 provinces or territories pal

@@MoratoryBasil There is also the fact that some countries don't learn states, provinces, territories, conflicts or any of that stuff in Geography. Take UK for instance, they just hop around countries only doing parts that have techniques to it, introducing new effects and explaining a few negatives about countries: In Year 7 (AKA Age 11-12) you may learn Brazilian Slums, then Touristic UK, then Ecosystems of Africa, then combining Skills in Asia (IDK Oceania, that's after the annual test)

As a Canadian I am horrible at naming the 50 statues of America

Mo Wedd because it should be common knowledge, it's not exactly a difficult thing to remember, the only ones I couldnt get down were the smaller midwest state's like Cheyenne WY, Lincoln NE and the like... though we had visual aid things, like with Hartford, Connecticut it showed a picture of a human heart driving a ford automobile dressed as a doctor, the Heart drove a ford to connect-a-cut or something like that, it was a while ago but I remember being scarred from that image... pun not intended
