yo...get the voice command one...its awesome! i got a roku onn tv in the living room with the non voice remote... i got my mom a roku box for Christmas a year or 2 ago...didnt even know it had voice command... you can it the button, they say what streaming app and what show or movie you want, and it will bring that shyt up immediately! found it by accident...and its really cool. convenient as hell!
I had a Roku Ultra for a few years that came with the voice remote so it's what I was used to. When I got a Roku TV it came with the cheaper IR remote and after 1 day I paired the old remote to it. Ended up buying another Roku remote to use with the old Ultra box on the old tv (moved off to another room) and the junky new IR remote sits in a drawer unused.
@Catus Maximus looks like we may have the same tv which may help you help me also better. Tv is TCL 32 inch 1080p from Walmart. Just got it the other day for Wife. First time in use with this Roku thing. Good side is I do and have worked on electronics since 1980s. The bad- I don't stream so this is sorta new to me. What I wanted to see is if you knew anything about the live tv chs of about 1000 or what ever to watch. Is there a way to pick some of those and select them to a folder or something for fast select. Another words so I don't have to scroll every darn time way up or down to find that ch listing? Last, I watched vid and understand all you show. The cheap remote is ok I guess lol. I can see in vid the quality better of the voice one. So I am buying it tonight. Also I am one that is old school- a back up for a back up so I like to have 2 or more of stuff on hand. I see the tv only has a power button lol.
The IR on the BT remote is so it can control the TV volume. The Roku base I've got has a button on top that will make the remote beep so you can find in under all the mess around.
@@CatusMaximus yeah, I found my old Roku remote and paired it with my Hisense tv that has the Roku interface and now I don't have to point it directly at the tv anymore. It's great!
I use Screen beam. Plug it into the back of my t.v. and connect to my cell phone and off i see the world. Free New Movies. T.V. shows. Watch government. And Catus. I can see whats happening in my community and others. On my phone to my 70inch curve tv. Instead of having remote control to type it in all i got to do is command the phone to do it. If i leave the room and one of the kids comes in with a 15 dollar a month tablet. They turn the tv on with the tablet and connect to the tv and find what ever they are looking for in movies or the information highway. Thats how i see around the planet.
With several hundred broadcast and internet channels to choose from, who in their right mind would take the numbers off of the remote? Insanity!!! Scrolling through several hundred channels to get to a program is so much fun. Who would rather just push two or three buttons to change channels? WTF
Well I guess at least I know a little more about what Roku TV is and what it looks like in action! Thanks!

I do recomend when searching for stuff on TH-cam,Netflix, or other streaming services say search first then the word your trying to search for!

Is yours the voice remote pro?
love the roku voice remote and remote pro, replace my tcl roku tv remotes with them. highly recommend. yep.
So I'm assuming if it's wifi, you don't have to point it directly at the TV unless using the tv control buttons.
If it's a roku TV, then you don't have to point it at it at all.
