jump start is common in sleeper cabs and RV's that have a separate battery setup to run lights, heaters, tv's and charge phones etc. But if you kill your main starting battery you can use your Sleeper batteries to "Jump" your main starting battery.
I love this rig. You'd be surprised how well that carpet will come up with a proper deep clean. Take it out, give it a go over with the pressure washer and soap, then degreaser and a steam vacuum.
Simple Green is an excellent degreaser... put it on fully concentrated out in the warm sun and let it sit for a few minutes, then use a drill-powered scrubber on it and rinse with a low-powered pressure cleaner. Repeat if necessary when extremely dirty. Then use a steamer vacuum on it and your carpet will look as good as it's ever going to get again.
The old 93 Ram 3500 looks pretty good. A little bit of boffin to the paint, paint the tailgate. Fix a tiny bit of rusty issue above those rear doors and it's gonna look awesome. It's a nice look and truck. And very rare. You don't see a lot of those rams with a sleeper conversion. It's actually kind of cool
This truck is so damn cool. Perfect truck for hot shot hauling. Aint gotta hit no motel /hotel if you on a long one. I bet this truck will bring some damn good money to the right man
I'm a Ford guy, but I have a Cummins in my combine. I love my 7.3 power stroke ! But this ole gal your bringing back to life is AWESOME!! KEEP US POSTED! thanks, enjoy your video, and I'm subbed! Be safe fellas, merry Christmas to y'all! 👍
@@RealSteelFabrications hey, maybe throw in some short vids on your project? Just a thought. I've never seen that can style before, and I'm very excited to see her all shined up!!! Thanks again for sharing!!
3in lift all around all terrains winch power converter and this truck is everything a man could ask think of dream want and leave his family for and every other man would understand.... lol not the fam part but......
Love the truck, should have pulled out the seats and ran the pressure washer on them and even on the carpet it’s a faster and cleaner wash! Excellent work though! And like your dad said in the video “you don’t have to yell” 😅😅
Awesome truck. I love it. It literally starts, sounds and smokes exactly like my 97 12 valve. When I got mine the whole inside was covered with diesel. I parked it on an incline so the water would run out and sprayed the whole thing out with a pressure washer after spraying laundry detergent inside.
Try using "Rust Cutter" or "Coreseal" on the rust. It turns it into black color chemically , seizing the rust, then prime and top coat it with spray paint.
Just a tip for next time youre cleaning leather or vinyl like that you can use a drill with a brush attatchment. Me and my Dad used to do it to clean mold off of boat seats. Love the truck tho!
There was only like 2 companies that took long bed ext cab 1st and 2nd gen dodge trucks and made them into 4 door trucks and sold em that way from what I can find. I'd love to have one of each in good shape.
The relays that the "jumpstart" button activate look like the grid heater relays. They are activated by ground closing the circuit to allow power to cross and heat the grid. When the PCM ground would go out on the second gens you just ran a wire from battery ground to switch and switch to the relay. Once the button is pushed the circuit is closed. Look up grid heater relays and you'll see what i mean.
we have my late dads 5500 2010 dodge ram tradesman, but its sat dead with it just not starting again, could be the alternator since the batteries are basically new, it was also a highway hauler before my dad got it at 444k miles, no def fluid at least!
Hey, Dodge has something in common with the old Soviet Union. Apart from the legendary12-valve Cummins and the 727-based transmissions, the rest of the truck may as well have been built in Soviet Russia.
One wire alternators are the way to go from what I have heard. The PCM has the voltage regulator built in it. I think the TPS on the autos feeds into it, maybe just for the overdrive. It may have something to do with the AC too. That VR you found on the passenger side was not original. Lots of info out there. CutterupRob has a good video on how to convert your alternator into a 1 wire. I'm not on telescope.
Per one gallon of spray bottle three tablespoons of soap, two cups of bleach, rest of gallon ,water Leave for 30min , then pressure wash .would have come out perfect. I have a house cleaning business, that's how I clean old houses and it works wonders
Using Dawn platinum dish soap to hand mop it will really help provide a clean surface for a fresh buff and wax. If you plan on doing that to the truck. Also, it is really good for taking off old wax for future applications.
Might make for a good video on performing a home alignment on the front end.....wouldn't hurt to check the rear axel while you're at it. Good looking truck!
Quite the turn around on the looks. Wash did a good job. Seats come back pretty decent too. But, still could use a solid steam clean on the interior. Even still, would drive that truck in a heartbeat. Throw a gooseneck on her and run 'er down the highway with a big frickin smile on my face. Waylon on the deck, and a hound on the seat cover. Would have gone with sandblasting the wheels and a shot of ardent silver though. Loving this build, and still believe it was a horse hauler. Big comfy seats meant for the long drives.
Man that back seat bed looks fantastic after you cleaned it. It's ready for..... You'll need a clean rag to wipe it down again..and yourself when you're finished.
This is like the 130 thousand dollar truck of today. Top of the line of its time.
You got that right!
They've already skyrocketed in value, to roughly half that.
I would daily drive the hell out of this. Turning every head at the mall. This has got the detail geek written all over it

1 wire is the only way to go on the alternator. I did it on one of mine and forgot I had a problem! What a mess that driver's fender is! I'm hooked!
I would have vacuumed (dry cleaned) it first before I did any scrubbing.
But you have made a good improvement.
