I only discovered Merle Haggard within the last year. I’m so sorry I did not know him years ago so that I could have attended his concerts. I am 86 years old and come from a country music family. I can tell you that Merle was absolutely the greatest song writer, story teller, singer of the last 50 years! I have never felt this way about a singer!
My older sister died today. We hadn't spoken since July 4th, 2017. I tried to reach her last October, through her son. She was too sick to talk by then, but per her request, her son didn't tell me. i saw the Hag live at casinorama in orillia ont. aug 13 2008. Was the highlight of my summer. can stroke it off my bucket list. Was awesome and he played a couple hrs and had his sons playing with him. A true legend.
