I adore his work, but one thing I realized by accident. I have a print of two of his paintings, but due to the context they are close to candle light.. and THAT brings their effect out SO MUCH MORE. which makes sense, given that he was not necessarily working in electrical light, nor would his pieces originally be displayed by that form of light... It is so very lovely, and more "stark" if you will? it is a very distinct effect
Soy Luis de Argentina.por fabor podrían sub titular el video , admiro mucho las obras de este artista, es excelente en todo su trabajo. Desde ya gracias un abrazo che
my favorite by him are his dusk scenes with the hazy ambers and browns and yellows and reds. I do like his hard moonlight scenes but the late afternoon scenes are what make him for me probably (i think at this point) my favorite painter.
Such magnificent paintings. He would be far more famous had he framed a blank canvas and called it perhaps the Human Condition. Would have walked away with the Turner Prize and be regarded a genius by the Tate Modern and its ilk for sure.
Nocturne op.9 no in B flat minor. By the amazing Chopin!!! one of my favorite piece of him!!! (sorry for my bad english i'm French and only sixteen :$ )
I have (48) of his pieces throughout my home, grouped mostly according to color scheme. Sixteen children and (10) died? What? And what of Agnes Leefe? The unspoken implication here is that she was more than his model...his mistress?
kelli henderson it looks as though she was. I recently bought my first Atkinson-Grimshaw, I love it. I love the way he uses colour, its rather nostalgic
I discovered the work of Atkinson Grimshaw about 6 years ago, and I've been a fan and admirer of his work since.

I tell people who see and ask about them, "I wish I were there...I wish I were then."
kelli henderson totally agree with you, I can see a little Turner in his work too. Can't get enough of him
kelli henderson ER. 48..original Grimshaws,. kidding me right!
The Chopin track for this beautiful short is not unpleasant...esp. since it sounds like Mr Rubinstein.
I agree!
What an insensitive film, with all those nastily strapped captions obliterating the paintings. Atkinson Grimshaw deserves a much better treatment.
