Oh! This painting!!! Ever since I saw it used as a cover for Charles Dickens audio of Our Mutual Friend, narrator Grinnell Regan, I have loved it many years. Had no idea if it was an actual work of art by a known artist. Took me a long time to find out. The mood is perfection. I purchased a giclee print and it is now going to be framed. Grimshaw work is....I just want to sink into them. I look forward to this video. Thank you for uploading the wonderful work you do. This is my Dickens. Thomas Moran Sunset at Lands End, Cornwall is my Poldark.

In the states we have, sorry...had... groups painting and drinking class. You could hold a zoom gig. Everyone drinks for 15 minutes and then they all paint for 15 minutes.
Nice one! Hey Marek, have you ever seen Charles Evans on TH-cam? He's a great artist whose channel has loads of tips and tricks for watercolor and other painting media. I have watched a lot during the lockdown and think you would enjoy seeing them too and maybe learn something new. . My eyesight is a bit off when it comes to color. I have a plein air frame with a lightly distressed antique black finish and the narrow gold line on inside edge of frame opening. What color mat would anyone suggest for this print? My color is a bit off. One eye sees things with a pale greenish hue. Makes my judgement skewed. Would appreciate advice.
A lot of criminals came to Australia on boats who then became Bushrangers. This painting of boats reminds me of that. I’m really looking forward to your Bushranger painting of this season. When is that Marek? 😎121
If I could have voted you may have been painting a different painting, however I could not vote because I have a cheap 8 yeat old ipad, not a fancy pants pc or a brand new £2,000 ipad pro brilliant thing. You need to get your act together or indeed your life, sharpish.
@@marekl How does that work then? I mean, do we give you what we want painting wise and then you do your best c**k up of it? I quite liked the last one you did with the crows against a curtain yellow backdrop. I’m not sure how you’d emulate that as that was a one off. Or do you actually paint seriously for an hour producing something better off camera than the original? I’m excited. I think.

I might make you some special Bushranger glasses which superimpose a Bushranger over every artwork.

Anything. Although it will probably be quite rubbish, and alas they will not be recorded as it takes too long unfortunately.

Roy Lichtenstein did the same and he used other people's artwork.
Then VerMeer was a cheat. His paintings are still sublime.
Not quite as competent as the real Grimshaw, but to be fair, he took 17 minutes. 😀 Incidentally, Didn't Vermeer use a camera obscura?
