    • @newmoneynate
      @newmoneynate  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally can seem like that, yes. For some, it makes no sense. It really depends on the person. For me, I’m getting exponentially more value out of these two cards, and I net positive with the value I am getting from. The cobalt for example when you consider the net of the points and the fee is extremely valuable. The platinum is great for me because of how much I travel and I really value the lounge access + I’m getting a $200 travel credit that I will use every year. It is absolutely not worth it for some people and a no brainer for others. It always depends on your personal circumstances! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @brandonkelly2581
      @brandonkelly2581 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the first card referenced (BMO world elite). On the application you are allowed to use household income. This means if you have a partner you can claim their income in addition to yours. However, I believe the household income has to be 150k. The loophole is where you have a joint account or have theoretical access to the same account where their full income is deposited. You can claim both your income and their income as your own. This will only work assuming it passes the 80k threshold. Note* the joint account can be with a parent as well.

    How about the Amex gold? That would be a worthwhile review. It always comes up as one of the best Canadian Amex cards because of perks and drug store purchases. Is it really that good? Are the perks worth it on the platinum card for $450 more? It’s called the best Canadian Amex work horse card by so many reviewers. Or is it all a sponsor thing and people are giving perks to say that because of change from charge to credit card in Canada?

    • @newmoneynate

      I was heavily considering putting it in this video - but I think it’s comparable to the cobalt with a few extra perks and a few lounge visits but the cobalt has better multiples and is much cheaper. Could be a good middle card if you’re not down for the plat or the cobalt.
