Today is a very Special’e’ Day…Today I get to drive another of my Ultimate Dream Supercars...Today we bring you the Incredible Ferrari 458 Speciale! The 458 Speciale is currently £200k More than a 458 Italia...Is the experience of Owning and Driving a 458 Speciale worth 200k more than a 458 Italia? What do you think?
The Speciale will keep going up in price. That is the last N/A V8 will ever produce and is a masterpiece. The year it was released it was “Best car of the year” on almost every magazine. What a machine. A future classic, 100%.
Thanks for bringing a much-needed eye for details in a review of the Speciale. As many videos as there are on the car, not than many really show a lot of the details like you did.
My 2015 458 Speciale just won a Platino and the Best 4 Series at the 2024 Ferrari Experience in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin (USA). It is a rare spec with stripe delete and the factory black roof! Argento Nurburgring with a black interior and 100k in factory carbon fiber options. One note on the video, Speciale’s do not have carpet on the floor boards (just the metal floor). I don’t believe there is even an option for it unless it is a Europe or Asia specific option.
I did the journey backwards. Started with a speciale then sold it as I was convinced a standard Italia would be 90% of the car the speciale was for half the price. I was wrong. Sold the Italia after owning it for 2 weeks. It’s a great car but not a patch on the Speciale.
Absolutely stunning car in that color combo. My favorite enhancement is that rear spoiler, which is absolutely perfect. I'm not convinced it should be worth the price of 2+ Italias but hey, that's typical market valuation for something so "speciale". Thanks for the review.
It’s the best of the last n/a v8’s, the 488 and upward went forced induction and muted the high pitched note these cars are known for. That alone among the other many reasons is why this car will always remain special.
Firm compared to your run of the mill every day car and slightly less compliant than the standard 458 however it still rides supple for what it is - a track focused supercar. Although this does not take away anything from the supercar experience it provides.
So…here is the dilemma and your video is helping me take a decision for sure, I can put my hands on the exact same spec on this review tomorrow for $580k, the question… is this beauty going to increase in value in the next decade or is at the peak of his value? Hard to tell but I don’t sleep at night for this car😢
@Enrico. Here is an answer to your dilemma: make money to buy the car, not the other way round. Buy what you can afford, value it at zero so you do not have to worry about it when you fully enjoy the drive (not thinking: “what was that noise I just heard?). Then if you ever sell it, any money back is another bonus. The whole experience will be worth a lot more than the “value appreciation”. Enjoy in good health.
@@pierredebug17 money are there so I will follow your suggestion, I will start with the Italia and may be will ad a speciale doe the road 😊, is my first Ferrari and I don’t want the turbos yet.
Definitely worth it... Its the f40 of our generation.. Timeless design and looks tastefully aggressive compared to the Italia which is perfect in my eyes. Really prefer the not overly aggressive looks.
To some it might be worth £200k more but for me i would spend the difference on booze , birds and other fast cars. The rest i would just squander. ( george best😊)
It’s faster. That’s quite literally the only trump over the speciale. But even then, it’s just too much for the road. 600BHP in the speciale is perfect.
Hell NO! It worth in therms of rarity and not that much of performance. It does have it of course and it is better in any measurable value, but at the end of the day it is way more "I have bigger d*ck" (or pocket if you will) then I'm faster...
Interesting and somewhat truthful take, however if I had a spare 400k floating around for a car I’d definitely have one, especially considering the ROI.
@@RichReviews_ Of course any one would have one - it is the ultimate 458. The epitome of naturally aspirated engines from the Scuderia... but that is from the point when money are not an object any more. And I think from that point on it is more of "I can" then I need. It is like the expensive watches - a very wealthy man, I was lucky to talk, told me: "I dont need an expensive car. I will park behind the corner and go to a meeting where no one will see my car - they will see my expensive watch. It measure the time just like the cheap one, but I'm valued by it. Same with the Speciale. Half the folks buy it as investment. Another half to show off - the minority are buying it to drive it and enjoy it. More over Speciale really makes sense on track - you cant reach the limits on public roads. Will you regularly trash your 300 k beloved Speciale ;) You will need a lot more then 400 k floating around :) In that regard the Italia have bigger chance to end up in enthusiast. If I have at least 1000 k floating around OK I will take the Speciale, even spend 600k for the gorgeous and more rare Aperta... however if I have some 300 k + for Speciale... I'll take the Italia and then spend the spare 200k on few other cars to enjoy :) Having said all the above - amazing car! A masterpiece!!!... but I can't justify spending 200 k more.
Yes. Because the 458 is a pininfarina design. Ferrari please bring back pininfarina and make Ferrari beautiful again. Stop doing your own designing because they are stupid looking

Yes, much more buttoned down. Its simple I wouldn't own an Italia but I would own a Speciale (Coupe).

100% agree
I think your best video yet Rich. Keep up the great work.
Thank you, very kind
Thank you so much for this review Rich! Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Thank you Fred, really appreciated my friend.
Keep an eye out tomorrow for the Behind The Video episode on the Speciale that we are dropping tomorrow. 👍🏻
Great video thanks. Maybe just one or two too many reminders on the model of the car 😉
Yeah I got a bit carried away there ;)
Great review Rich, this is your best to date!
Thank you.
Recommend you also catch some of our other reviews including the Lamborghini Miura and McLaren 765LT.

Thank you...Glad it was helpful for you!
I dont think you need to keep saying 458 speciale. We get it! Puts me right off watching as thats all i focus on
We also created a Behind The Video for this content, you’ll see how much effort was involved.
I drunk a shot every time ‘speciale’ was mentioned. I’m now dead… 😁
Also it’s alcantara rather than alcantera 👍
Enjoyed the vid though jokes aside.

Your car spec sounds awesome! 🙌

Interesting, thank you.
The speciale is incrementally better in every way which arguably justifies the £200k hike over an Italia.
È una vettura straordinariamente bella e coinvolgente 😍

Beautiful car
A real stunner in launch spec.

I just have a C8 but I'm here to watch the ultimate pinnacle incarnation of my imposter car's original benchmark (the 458).
Let me know what you think!
@@RichReviews_ fabulous review! Thoroughly enjoyed the extensive detail you covered and rewatched Jethro's drive through the rain. Keep it up!

@@S2000Y great quote from the awesome GB! 😆

Just get a 720s and it’ll walk over either of them!

This is one of those cars that look far better in person. I don't know why, but in pictures, it looks like a fish.
Looks like a Fish? 😳, how did you come to that?

SpETciale not Speciale 😋
Anyway, a good investment for the future..
