Shaping up to be a fun season for VGC. The accessibility they've given us with the EV boost items, bottle caps, and nature mints has been such a boon for my sanity. I feel like I can finally spend a reasonable amount of time when creating a competitive mon.

Great video! I made a few tweaks with my moveset: Pay Day, Thief, Dig, and Last Resort. More money, helps with farming items/ghosts, coverage against rocks/steels, and Last Resort is an egg move that gives a super high BP for the max move

I'm a new-comer from Alpharads channel, but I have acquired the fever for VGC specifically. Been running a scummy rain strat mixed with a Ludicolo strat I saw used against you in one of your vids lol. Having tons of fun, but still need to EV and Hyper Train to cement that edge. Bro!!! you roll out of bed, have talking points all over the place, and you're spitting way more knowledge than creators like adrive and Austin John plays. Obviously I had to sub bc I find it really helpful that I came for a money grinding method and learned at least 4 more things I didnt know before and i know for a fact that its honest because no one can ramble about BS like that... keep up the good work bro and hell what the haters say.
I think you can invite anyone whose rare card you have obtained. It's also random on which people you face, though I think gym leaders have higher chances than challengers, and Leon or Hop have the highest chances of advancing. So even if you invite someone, you might not actually face them in the tournament.

The VGC reddit is the best thing for pokemon competition in a while. That + showdown. They also made this game so beginner friendly for competative.
Highly advise beating post game and the maxing out either Zacian or Zamazenta. Really helps speed this process up as well as allowing u to carry in max raids

yo wolf, there's a faster method now if you get a chance to update. you essentially just farm watts by changing your date/time at a den (netting 2k each time) then you buy luxury balls with all your watts, then you sell the luxury balls for 1.5k each. the conversion rate is great. you can get approx 1 million every 15 minutes and it's not as stressful as having to mess around battling with meowth.
just wanted to let you know there is a way faster way to get money but it might be considered an exploit
you do the glitch to reset a raid den to get watts and use those watts to buy luxury balls and sell them you need 99k watts for a full stack and you get $1.400.000 for selling a full stack

I'd love to see what old Pokemon got buffed and nerfed! I know that Aegislash got a stat need, but I'd really love to know how older 'mon got affected by the move culling.

You can also go to the digger bros in the wild area and basically convert your Watts to money, because they give you a lot of items that are purely for selling. After you beat the champion, Watts are really easy to get as well. Obviously this does kinda kill your ability to get wishing pieces, but sometimes they give you those too.
Pokémon that got buffed sounds awesome. With a lot of the old pokemon like landorus stepping out of the lime light it’ll be interesting to hear what you think will step in and take their place.

Two things. 1: You WANT to start with gold rush as soon as you can. The opponent can knock out meowth before it gmaxes. 2 have pay day. It will give money if you can't gmax (for whatever reason, say you did it before hand)

Do any scrappy mons learn pay day? I have shield so I don't know if sirfetched does, but pangoro doesn't. I know it's nowhere near as good for money as Meowth, but it would be better than ghost lad blocking money gains completely.
@@FakeHeroFang tbf there's the luxury ball selling method which is just as good and maybe even better for gaining money, so might stick to that one for now.

Just an extra tip, I personally use a different pokemon first holding the amulet, ko 2/5 of the opponents pokemon then switch meowth in holding nothing to use 3 g-max gold rush. This allows it a chance to pickup an item after battle (waiting to see a table for pickup)

SO, not sure if this was said but a video breakdown of all of the Dynamax details would be a helpful video. What additional effects each of the Max moves do, what effects a Dynamaxed mon resists (fake out proof?!?!), etc.

It's not really a big deal, but Leon will have a different pokemon based on which starter you chose, either a Rhyperior, a Seismitoad, or a Mr. Rime. It will be the one of those 3 weak to your starter. Doesn't really make a huge difference to the strategy against him though

You can invite a person to each tournament you do. So you can invite someone that doesn't resist to increase the odds of not fighting allister (ghost type leader).

According to the guide book the recommended Pokemon from the Pokedex are more likely to appear
It’s easier if you just date spam a raid den and collect 2,000 watts over and over. Go by luxury balls and sell for 1500 per ball. I think 999 balls cost 84k watts and you get like 2.5 mill. Doesn’t take much time...

What EV spread do you recommend for Meowth? Max Attack, Max HP?

The Ghost trainer is Wei.
I feel like against ghost pokemon it would be better to have pokemon with soak move and meowth with negative attack nature and 0 EV's in attack, so that it would NOT KO the single pokemon that got soaked. Modest nature would be purrfect for that. So max EV in HP and rest in (sp)defense.

Dude, this is the slowest method in the game to get coins by a landmile. Just throw a wishing piece, enter into invite with friends, move 1 day the clock, and farm watts, you get 2K watts every 15 seconds. Then buy 999 of any ball to the vendor guys and sell them, you get 10M on the span on this video alone.

So I just bred and EV trained my defensive Arcanine and now I don’t have enough in game money to EV train my gigantax Meowth 😭. I also don’t have a single XL candy despite being on lots of raids. Can you do a guide on how to get XL candies?

This Gigantamax Meowth can still learn Pay Day, right? And Pay Day stacks (assuming there's no cap on how much money can be picked up at the end of a battle)?
So, assuming all of the above is true, why not teach it Pay Day, use an attack-lowering nature, and put the attack EVs into defense and special defense instead? That way, you still have a Meowth that can take hits, and the low attack stat means you can get more Pay Days off before knocking out an opponent when Gigantamax wears off. You could even give it an Eviolite and let a different Pokemon hold the Amulet Coin. I used a similar strategy in Let's Go, and although it's tedious, it really...paid off (sorry)

yep! As long as you dont KO them because you cant switch meowth out after it's gigantamaxed without losing the money

This is not the best method currently. Basically, throw a wishing star into an empty den, go to invite others, go to settings menu of your switch, system, date and time, and change the clock one hour forwards. Save and go back to the game. Exit out of the invite others screen and collect 2000 watts, then repeat the process from the invite others screen.
Spend all your watts on luxury balls and sell them at pokémalls.
