he has done videos on both. Remember a dog wants to be the leader or follow a strong leader. you need to be the leader. Chest out Chin up walk talk show confidence be in control
There is no teaching a dog "not to wreck things", the only reason a dog destroys things at home is because they aren't getting enough exercise. A tired dog will never destroy anything. Ceasar says in almost every video including this one. Excersize (body and mind) is the most important thing for a dog. As far as body language, he has many videos but if a dog is tired he will have his head low and he will search for smells, signs that your dog isn't tired, the dog will be using eyes and ears with head held high(alert state).
Ian Dunbari has a very effective teaching on that we followed on our lab (infamous for chewing) and worked liked magic. This is what we did. 1- get a basket 2- put a name on all the dogs possessions (we call everything chewing toy) 3- everytime the dog touched something they should not, say no & immediately give them multiple options of their possessions. Call out single every toy with the word. (Chewing toy) The idea is to communicate to the dog what is theirs & they can destroy, what is not. Putting a word on the dog’s belonging is key. Also, whenever we buy her a new toy. At the moment of offering we call it’s name (chewing toy) so she immediately knows that it’s hers.
@@ME-zl8ts of course i watched his videos about this, i asked this question because i give exercises to my dog daily for 1 hour walking morning and late afternoon. So there should not be a reason why he still not tired. Thats why im concern because he only does this when i leave the house. He doesn't wreck things at all when im in the house. Now you try to answer this again that would really helpful
@@elnazdavoudi yeah the thing is, my dog doesn't wreck things when im around. He only does this when im not in the house. How am i supposed to correct him while im not even there when he wrecks things. It's stressing me out
Cesar, I just want to say thank you for your years of teaching!!! It recently helped me and my mother's dog a great deal. Sadly almost 2 years ago my father died suddenly and totally unexpectedly. My mom has severe COPD, but was managing at home for a while. Her cairn terrier started becoming aggressive at times, and finally Mom asked me if I could take her as she didn't know what to do and couldn't handle her. I realized very quickly that my father had been the leader of the pack, and my mom was not a strong type. This was fine with her little schnauzer who has a more laid back personality but Snickers (cairn terrier) was trying to be the "leader" as she felt there wasn't one. It did take a couple of months of constantly being calm but assertive with her, but now she has settled in wonderfully and is a very happy little dog again. Mom has gotten worse so I now have the schnauzer along with my own mini dachshund and a standard poodle so we have fairly large pack of 4, but they are all a happy bunch. Mind you the cairn terrier still bosses the much larger poodle around but he doesn't seem to mind!!! LOL!! Thank you for teaching me how to reach this little girl. Many would have given up on her (she bit me 3x in the first couple of months), but doing it right has helped me help her get back on track. Thanks!!!
These trainings give me so much hope and confidence with my 2 month nightmare since I adopted a rescue from the pound. 4++? year old dutch shepherd that was surrendered by his original family, after a baby joined the family. I believe he was a yard guard dog primarily, was neglected, was physically abused and was never properly socialized. I’ve contemplated returning him dozens of times already but have always advocated for and kept committed to animals for their lives.I feel like a prisoner in my life with nothing that’s sustainable or desirable. I could write pages of negative incidents but won’t. I’m going to keep gorging on these videos to train myself to be a better human and pack leader. Thank you CM and all the others here that highlight their own challenges and progress. 🌎🇺🇸💚👍🏽🎯🐶
Personally..... Cesar for President! He has the everything we need!!!!! His T-shirt would be his campaign slogan. He would get my vote just for that slogan alone.
Hi Cesar, to this day I still am inspired by your teachings. I have four dogs and continually complimented on their calmness. I always tell them I always attempt to follow the methods of Cesar that’s why they are usually calm. The great thing is though all my four dogs are rescues and at least three out of the four came to me untrained and hyper. I will always give you the credit because watching you on television and on the computer has taught me the best way to improve and enhance all my dog’s lives. Continue to be safe and keep up the good work.
Hi Cesar! I've been watching you since I was 12 (11 years now!) and I've always been so enchanted by your work and love to listen to you talk so I can learn! I can't believe that people are so blinded by hate or ignorance that they try and disclaim you.

This is the kind of video I have been looking for. My dad was home for months even before the pandemic started so my dog would follow him all day long step for step. Now that he is back to work he seems like he is sad even though I give him lots of love exercise and attention.
You read my mind. I am just starting to have this problem now that I am not longer living in a house with other dogs and my dog is alone. This helps me understand it very clearly! Thank you, Cesar!
I own a pug so she's my shadow 24h a day, she follows me every time I move lol but if I want her to stay in one place she does so and when I leave home she takes my shoes with her and waits quietly till I arrive, I'm the one with separation anxiety lol
My Bella Standard Labradoodle doesn't follow me around the house, she learned to be invited, she is in a calm, loving and surrendered state and this has meant that she has accepted that I am her Pack Leader. My dog is almost continually in a calm state. He's Mr Chill, and doesn't follow me around the house much. He's a rescue, but I was looking for personality and calmness, plus general stability, so it wasn't that I got him by luck. There were a few issues he needed work on, yes, but nothing major.
I always notice when my dog is trying to follow me out the door when she can't come. Sometimes she's just like, 'Oh okay you're leaving now and stands back and watches" and I know she knows she can't come. But when she follows me around and I sense she's expecting to roll out with me, I communicate her w/ my imagination (sounds silly I know, but Cesar always says, 'picture the desired behavior in your mind') and I direct her to her spot, and i follow her and tell her down and stay. When she's down, and I see in her eyes that she understands she's not coming, I pet her on the head, tell her good girl, say the words "stay" again. And I walk away. Normally she doesn't follow me to the door after that, but every blue moon she'll jump down from her spot and follow me, however her behavior resorts to standing back, and watching from a distance, like, she's just making sure she understood correctly that she's not coming. I leave and she's all good. She doesn't feel left behind when I do that routine. Her big expectations to roll out are typically when she sees me in sweats and tennis shoes. That's when I really have to reiterate that she's not coming, cuz that's what i wear when we walk. So its that routine that may cause her some confusion. When I'm in my nursing uniform, she couldn't care less about me going, cuz she knows I'm leaving for an extended amount of time. She doesn't even follow me around the house, she's just like, "Pfft, deuces...See you in the morning"

One of my dogs (the oldest 13.7) has started to follow me a lot and that started last year and I think it's down to that his hearing is going because of age. So when he can't hear what I'm doing he needs to see it and therefore following me unless I'm telling him to stay every time I stand up or leave the room.

Hola, escribo de Querétaro México y quiero aprender como hago sociable a un perrito que rescatamos de la calle y que conviva con nuestro PUG. Tienes talleres para enseñarnos?
We always joke that my dog's entire life is based off of FOMO (fear of missing out), but I really think it's true. He can't help but to follow my every step every single time i'm out of his sight, for worry that he might miss something interesting... it drives me up the wall. I know cesar says to practice staying on a placer but I'm having trouble finding enough patience to tell him 100 times a day to stay. So frustrated... 😓 But I know it'll get better, slowly but surely..
Cesar, my yorkie starts barking from the moment he knows I'm leaving. He starts to bark unstoppable and tries to run out of the apartment. How could I help him?
If I’m alone in the house, my dog is always with me, he follows me 99% of the time. Even if there are other people around, he stays mainly with me. But he owns the house, I spoiled him as a puppy and now I don’t know how to make it right. My yorkie is basically a spoiled toddler. I love him so much, I want to learn how to make his life better.
Cesar is great...but I've really struggled with this subject with my dogs in past unfortunately my furbabies have past on now...but I know in the future when I get another dog this will be challenging. ..as I'm not a very assertive person in general I guess it's me that's the problem!
I always look to you for K9 advice. Thank you. My Mini Aussie pup and I are working on bonding. My pup is a typical velcro Aussie. My goal is to train to be my service dog but time will tell. I tell everyone who approaches us not to stare but some people will not abide in my request so I remove ourselves from the situation. Is there a better way to handle this? Thanks for being my role model!!
My dog has always been with me bc im on disability so he's been with me every single day so when I even go on a walk he barks and whines the entire time. I have to go on a trip for a week in Oct I cant bring him I did get him one of those thunder shirts. What else can I do?
Thank you for doing these videos. You are so helpful!! My dog Charlie is struggling with separation anxiety because his mom and sister passed within 6 months of each other in 2020 ☹ Charlie is mostly deaf and he has cataracts but he's reasonably healthy. He must have decided that I'm his pack leader because he follows me everywhere. He crys and howels when I leave. My daughter will sit with him and that helps but he's looking for me. How can I help him? I crate him at night.
I have two rescue dogs. My little dog use to fallow me all the time. In the three years that I've had her she is better with not following me all the time. My second dog I just rescued she fallows me a lot. So I've been doing the same thing that I do with my little dog. I tell them to stay and close the door. When I want them to fallow me I leave the door open and say you comming? Or you can come in. I'm a weird person because I talk to my animals lime they were people. And they do understand. Bigger dogs are a lot of work but we'll worth it. ☺
My dog (R.I.P.) followed me wherever i went. We have a big yard but he never went to the back of the yard cause than he couldn't see me. One exception..something (a cat?/animal?) or somebody invaded our territory. I say 'our' territory because as a puppy i walked the bounderies of our yard with him following me to imprint in him that this is my yard. Hoping he wouldn't try to escape..i knew he was going to grow large and could easily jump over the fenses..
Caesar, you are a beautiful soul. I appreciate the human training you do.

Hola, escribo de Querétaro México y quiero aprender como hago sociable a un perrito que rescatamos de la calle y que conviva con nuestro PUG. Tienes talleres para enseñarnos?
Cesar, you are amazing!!
Gracious again Cesar!
Also, can you do a video specifically on your german shepherds? I have two and want to learn about my training with them!
How could I help him?
i have a corgi that does the same thing! i hope he can help us!
I put my dog in doggie daycare it helped so much
Is it any better now? I am harina the same problem and since i live in a condo she cannot bark a lot or well get kicked out. Im worried
That’s what I’ve been telling my brother!!!!
Cesar is great...but I've really struggled with this subject with my dogs in past unfortunately my furbabies have past on now...but I know in the future when I get another dog this will be challenging. ..as I'm not a very assertive person in general I guess it's me that's the problem!
a blessing
I always look to you for K9 advice. Thank you. My Mini Aussie pup and I are working on bonding. My pup is a typical velcro Aussie. My goal is to train to be my service dog but time will tell. I tell everyone who approaches us not to stare but some people will not abide in my request so I remove ourselves from the situation. Is there a better way to handle this? Thanks for being my role model!!
Great vif so far
Jesteś wspaniały oglądam wszystko, bardzo mi pomagają twoje filmiki w wychowaniu mojego szczeniaka Amstaffa 🥰🧿 Pozdrawiam ❤️🧿
Aww hello Junior Benson Sophie Taco and the other cute little dog you have but can't remember his name. I love watching you Cesar.
I love watching your videos. Your dogs are so cute especially lovable as they are well behaved. What is the name of the German Shepherd in this video?
My dog has always been with me bc im on disability so he's been with me every single day so when I even go on a walk he barks and whines the entire time. I have to go on a trip for a week in Oct I cant bring him I did get him one of those thunder shirts. What else can I do?
Cesar, what happened to your Netflix show :( that's what I used to learn so many tips!!!! I miss it!! Please keep uploading on your youtube though :D
Thank you so much, by dog beats me to the door to go buy buy....wants to be close except shower. Very productive, my best buddy...
