Cleaning and organizing in a lived-in home is never one-and -done. Our homes are filled with life and life requires care ❤ First time viewer and I love your home. I could "see" the wheels turning in your head when you were brainstorming a solution for your hanging baskets ❤ That's a HOMEmaker.
The Shark Vertex with duo power fins/rechargeable and cordless is amazing on tile and hardwoods. I use it on low pile area rugs too but wouldn’t recommend for shag. Thank you for sharing your heart and how us real mommas work!! I’ve always tried to remember that we don’t live in a museum. And wherever fun/creative stuff is going on there will be messes!! You’re doing great! And your video is so relatable. ❤😊🎉🎉
Hi Jenilee! I recently switched to vacuuming my kitchen floor, now that I got a new cordless vacuum. It’s made a HUGE difference. Being on a farm, my kitchen floor gets dirty constantly. This vacuum has been awesome. It’s the Hoover cordless vacuum. Bit of an investment, but totally worth it!
Your soap recipe is one I use all the time and it works perfectly. Zote can be used in many ways not just laundry and it is a healthy solution. Love you laundry room remake.
I love watching the process homemakers go through to get a project done. I am one of those homemakers that does something and tests it and sees how it works for a time and make changes if necessary. I enjoyed spending time with you today...
The laundry room looks amazing! You put so much love into things! Congrats! The work in a house never ends. It´s a full-time job, especially with kids. Thank you for the video!
Jenilee, this is why I love your channel….because it’s real. Yours is a home, not a Pinterest house. It’s lived in and loved, and we all relate to feeling overwhelmed with the amount of work raising a family, homeschooling and cooking takes. I will say this though, it’s just me and my husband now, the children have flown the nest. These days for you are priceless…fully enjoy the laughs ,the fun and the mess…children grow so quickly. Best days ever 😢❤
I really like how the laundry room turn out. You cleaned it up super well. I was feel sluggish and unmotivated and watching you video I got motivated and was motivated to even film a video for my channel 😅
Jenilee - your laundry room refresh is really nice! As the seasons change and your family changes, adjustments have to be made to high-traffic areas! Homemaking is constant, and you've got this! Have a wonderful week!
I’ve always use a vacuum for all hard floors. I am a retired cleaning service owner and vacuum was always used on hard floors. Stairs that are hard I’d start at top and work down to bottom. I did these by hand and usually used Murphy oil soap.
Hello, Mrs. Jenilee! My wife and I love to watch your videos because they are informative, and you all keep it real. Thanks for inviting us into your home each week. God bless!
We have ceramic tile in our kitchen, entryway, bathrooms, and hallways…vacuuming is the only way to go in my home! I think you are doing a great job of making your house a cozy home.❤️
Thanks for sharing this video Jenilee! I can definitely identify with how you feel especially this week. I have been struggling with not feeling well and things are just getting more and more behind and we are having company next week! So this is encouraging and motivating to watch. I always enjoy your videos. God bless. Becky
Just found your channel! I’m always so happy to find another homeschooling TH-cam mama. I have 4 kids also and I completely understand how you have to constantly stay on top of everything. I love how honest you are with your homemaking.
Thank you for being vulnerable and showing your house as it is. I try to keep my house tidy, but it’s just my husband and I and it can sometimes get a bit cluttered. I love your picture of Jesus as he is my heart and soul.
If you do end up getting a new vacuum, I would suggest a cordless one! We have a pretty inexpensive one from Sam’s Club and it’s not perfect but it has completely changed my cleaning life! For some reason getting out a bigger machine and dealing with the cord was a real hurdle and the cordless one is so easy to just grab and use that I end up vacuuming much more often. Thank you for this video! ❤
Find an old wooden ladder and hang it parallel to your ceiling. You can use the rungs to hang hooks for your baskets…..or for hanging things to air dry. ☺️
Thank you Jenilee! I see that you are so happy with your accomplishments in tidying up different spaces. The laundry room /mud room looks great and functional. We have beams to hang baskets and small antiques. I think even one beam will suit your room fine to hold baskets. So fun to see your ideas unfold!
I love the way you just tackle jobs that need doing! You did a great job with your washer - dryer area and finding solutions for all those items! Blessings.
I have wood floors throughout my house, except for in the bathrooms, which are being replaced this week with ceramic. They’ve had vinyl on them for the last four years and we’re over it lol! I use my real fluffy Bona to sweep and then I use a little hand, (soft)whisk and small dustpan.
An old ladder would be cute to hang from your ceiling. You can add S hooks to hang your baskets but also hang clothes with hangers if needed. You can also add a pulley system to raise and lower your ladder when not in use.
This is such a nice and honest video ❤️ Its so hard to keep the entry of the home tidy and organized with a big family when you don’t have a lot of space. And you also have to incorporate a washing area (for us thats in the kitchen). We recently bought some shoe storage from ikea, so they’re behind closed doors. It looks SO much better now. Maybe it’s an idea for your family too.
In England many people used to use a pulley system on the ceiling with wooden rods held up by a wrought iron fitting at either end to hang wet clothes on ,.It was called a Sheila Maid . you pulled it down with the rope ,after hanging your laundry you pulled the rope on the pulley and it went back up to the ceiling .They were in every Victorian house.look it up you could maybe make a version to go above your machines .
In Scotland, we just called it a pulley. We had one in our last house in the utility room, and as the heating boiler was in that room, your laundry dried so quickly. A great addition to any laundry room. 👍🏴
My favorite tool is my Shark ? hard floor? Swifter like attachment. It has a washable pad, behind a long thin suction attachment. Its AMAZING for both wiping dust, and concentrating the suction to get between cracks in old hardwood floors. They now sell them as an added tool online. My vacuum came with it years ago. Order the exra pads too so you can wash/ dry/ use multiples. I wish I had bought a back up attachment too, just in case I needed it, 10 years later!
Shoes are my nemesis! Lol! And hats, helmets, mittens etc. We are only a family of 3 but if you add the shoes ..a family of 12! I like your peg board idea! I am still trying to find a system that works. Hubby's org style is need to see everything.... So...spread and pile! Send help, and ideas.... Maybe a few prayers😂
I have hanging plant hooks that I use on my porch that might work for your baskets. They are just metal rods with a hook at either end. They act as extenders so the plants don't hang too high. I think they are called extenders--that might be a good search term if you want to look and see if they might work. That way you can put a hook or loop high, but the plant will hang much lower.
Great video! Loved it and it inspires me🙂 That white chamber pot(I think) in your laundry space is so beautiful! Lol, my husband has so many hats also and I think I'm going to do what you did 😂
Hello Jenilee 🌷 Gosh I've never related to a video more than this one... I spent many many years feeling overwhelmed by constantly needing to keep things in their place. My 3 children have all left ! Now I'm blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren who are very messy too 😊😂🤗🙄🥰☺ So I'm back to square one lol. I'd love it if you had a PO box so we could all send you a Christmas card 🌲 thank you for another beautiful video xx
Before I forget….how about a tension rod to hang laundry and baskets from in your laundry area. I have feeli g a tad overwhelmed lately, we recently bought 70 acres which we will be moving there as soon as we sell this place. I thought I could managed both places but I am failing miserably. Hubby is 73 and I am 68 and we have been do8ng a tens ourselves so it’s been quite a under taking. But it’s in a remote area and getting help is harder. Anyways, so I can relate. We will make it…….and am trying not to fret about it. I find great piece in your videos, thank you 🌷🇨🇦
I laughed so hard at this. I built a cute "mudroom" out of our hall closet and my husband must've had 20 plus hats on his allotted 3 hooks. I couldn't take it anymore. After some persuading he finally relented and narrowed them down to six. Mind you these were all the exact same hats he wears to work. Not the esthetic I was going for but small win.😂
Interesting light! We have a few we need to replace in our older home too. I will have to look into them. Did it have a name? Wondering what I would search under.
Ok. Funny story. I’m watching your video with ear buds in and my husband is working next to me. I kept hearing a dog whining. My husband said Angie! Take care of your high maintenance dog. She is so high maintenance and needy and always wants my attention. Well. I heard the dog but thought it was your dog so paid no mind to it. Oooops. 😂😂😂
A rod with "s" hooks are movable for your laundry room. You'd be able to hang the baskets & clothes on the rod (the clothes on hangers). Just an idea. God bless!!😊😊
I vacuum my whole house, I think sweeping is a waste of time. You’re seriously just sweeping dust around the house, and it’s hard to contain the dust. My absolute favorite vacuum to this day is the shark lift away rotator(they have amazing warranty). You can catch them sometimes under $200 for Black Friday, but I would pick that over a Dyson any day of the week. Also, I absolutely love that your oldest son is always the first one at the dinner table, and I love seeing his hands throughout your other videos as you’re cooking. He’s a growing boy and he loves mom’s cooking.
Hi i just wanted to warn you that you might be doing some damage to your washer. Detergent and soap are not interchangeable. Soap need to have friction in order to clean due to the fact that they are fat/oil based. (H.E. washers dont have agitators like the old machines). Next Detergent is synthetic and work as a surfacant in order to lift and loosen dirt of of fabrics. The HE machines work with detergent because the loads have a tumbling motion. Soap might work in your HE machine for a while but im sure youll be doing long term damage.. it might not be worth it. You still can use that soap you have but i would suggest to hand wash and rinse in a tub and then maybe move it over to your HE machine to spin out remaing water

Yup our such a great Mom but wondering why you serve up all the plates, even for you big son. We sat together at the table but we served ourselves, helped clear the table and had to help with the dishes. Sweeping the floor etc. you seem to be doing everything by yourself. Just worried about you! ❤

I love your honesty Jenilee. Thank you for sharing in such a real way. It is so refreshing. I love your house. Alex = )
It’s nice to see raw and real it’s a reminder we all have different chapters and things going on. Even the most organized can get overwhelmed 💗
We are all human. We would be surprised to see how much we all have in common.
Jenilee - your laundry room refresh is really nice! As the seasons change and your family changes, adjustments have to be made to high-traffic areas! Homemaking is constant, and you've got this! Have a wonderful week!
Your laundry room came together so nice!! You just tackled it and got it done! I need to do that in several areas of my home.
I’ve always use a vacuum for all hard floors. I am a retired cleaning service owner and vacuum was always used on hard floors. Stairs that are hard I’d start at top and work down to bottom. I did these by hand and usually used Murphy oil soap.

Really enjoyed the realness in this video. Very encouraging.

Your home is a reflexion of you.
Find an old wooden ladder and hang it parallel to your ceiling. You can use the rungs to hang hooks for your baskets…..or for hanging things to air dry. ☺️
I love your stove thank you for sharing
Yes sometimes I use a vacuum in the kitchen and dining area helps tremendously

Great job, the laundry room turned out great.
i love the old cerling laundery rack and you can hang items of it
Your laundry room looks great. I love your house. Bless your sweet family.
I love the way you just tackle jobs that need doing! You did a great job with your washer - dryer area and finding solutions for all those items! Blessings.

Very sweet!
Cordless vacuum (2 batteries) or robot vacuum! I LOVE your videos!

Thanks for your kind words. Yes it's nice to have those things concealed. I bet it looks great.
@ you already made it look so nice with the curtains to cover up 😊
Your laundry room looks great. I don’t have enough space for all my stuff but we do the best we can.
So simple and comfy ❤
Thank you so much!
I have tile in my kitchen, laundry room and bathrooms. I picked up a Dyson v6 cordless off woot 6 years ago, and it was a *game changer* !

@ yes we called it a pulley in Liverpool but I’ve seen then for sale online called Sheila Maids
For the kitchen and dining area I have a Bissell Crosswave. It vacuums and mops, so I can get two things done at the same time. It’s been a lifesaver!
I need to check out the crossover..I have wood and vinyl in my kitchen and utility areas.
🤗 Tis lovely visiting your home... great job on all the organizing, etc. 👏🏻 Thanks for sharing. 🌼 Lord bless yall. See you soon. ✝️💟💖🍁💐

I love your videos! So soothing and pleasant. We also live in Missouri! 😊
Great video! Loved it and it inspires me🙂
That white chamber pot(I think) in your laundry space is so beautiful!
Lol, my husband has so many hats also and I think I'm going to do what you did 😂
I have a Dyson stick vacuum in my kitchen. So easy
Hello Jenilee 🌷 Gosh I've never related to a video more than this one... I spent many many years feeling overwhelmed by constantly needing to keep things in their place. My 3 children have all left ! I sweep, vacuum and mop everywhere in my house. Time consuming, but so good afterwards.
I bet it looks and smells lovely 😍
Someone else suggested a tension rod also. Hang hooks on it for baskets, and you can also drape clothing items too.
Thank you!! I use a cordless shark vacuum for my kitchen. It’s awesome and so much better than sweeping!
Before I forget….how about a tension rod to hang laundry and baskets from in your laundry area. A pull up clothes rail you can hang pans or anything from it
I live in an old cottage in England, I have beams in my kitchen and have hooks screwed into them for my baskets and for drying herbs.
Oh my, I'm sure your English cottage is beautiful 😍
A laundry load or two a day keeps me up to date without getting totally swamped with laundry.
Laundry room...A+++
Maybe a pulley system rack in laundry room that can be lowered when needed and raised when you don’t.
You did a wonderful job is that laundry room and I love the light you put up with the fan. Can you link where you got it.
Thanks so much! I put a link in the description box.
Love your video's
Thank you!
Interesting light! We have a few we need to replace in our older home too. I will have to look into them. Did it have a name? Wondering what I would search under.
I love it. Let me post the link.
I use a shark cordless vacuum cleaner for the kitchen.
I usually use a broom n a vacuum when in a rush. Was wondering how often do you purge the kids clothes? Every 6 months for me
Oooops. 😂😂😂
Use your tension rod that would be good right above your window
How much of your laundry soap do you use for a full load? I like the fact it's not a liquid detergent. Btw, love the light fixture!
A rod with "s" hooks are movable for your laundry room. You'd be able to hang the baskets & clothes on the rod (the clothes on hangers). Just an idea. God bless!!😊😊
How about an old wood ladder hung from the ceiling with your baskets? I did that in my kitchen.a few copper pots, dried herbs, baskets. Perfect!
Oh I love that 💡 idea!

Yes. Shark is so much better than Dyson. I could not get over how much the Shark picked up after I vacuumed with the Dyson. I gave away my Dyson.
.
Enjoy your babies. It happens to go way too fast. My oldest is 29 and my youngest and last 5.
Oh and my husband just put up hooks in our ceiling so I can hang my baskets.
Can you hang the baskets outside on your covered porch instead?
Yes I can relate
So glad I'm not the only one
