Thank you for the Amazon number Mark. I bought two kits deliberately last week to force a box and it worked! Except, my Moebius 61' Catalina was smashed before they put it in the box??? They replaced it, but I had to return the crushed kit. The Road Runner looks nice! 😎👍
It's getting out of hand. Next time they want you to replace it tell them they have to pick it up from your house. It is ridiculous that they smash it, then tell you you have to take it to a receiving place to return it. That boggles my mind.
Nice choice for your next build. It is a nice kit. You need to get rid of the 6’ tall battery. I have only ordered model kits from Amazon twice, and both of them arrived packed in a box. After hearing about everyone’s bad luck with ordering kits from Amazon, I either buy from online hobby shops or eBay. Thanks for sharing.
LOL. I did notice that battery, but I think I may just put a very small band around the base of the battery to show where the battery stops and the fender starts. LOL Amazon use to always ship in boxes. Not sure why they changed.
I bought an older issue of this kit off of eBay last month. Monogram was at its best with this era of kits, looking forward to your build and mine! Thanks!
Nice video Mark. Amazon is so strange with their decision making process on what gets a box and what doesn't. We got a couple of small items recently and they came in big boxes...some with a couple of plastic bubbles and some with the item just sliding around. So strange...
Too bad about the Amazon delivery, I used to order a few model kits from Amazon when I first started building 10 years ago with no problems but now their prices too high. Those kits are really well detailed, I'm looking forward to seeing your updates on it. Those back windows are very unique, I had an actual 69 Dodge Coronet 500 as my second car and loved it, I did a model to resemble it a few years ago.
I just built this kit, I lit it and cut the trunk to house the switch. First time doing all the extra detail thanks to your channel! I had a blast but I will NEVER paint anything yellow again lol. It a tough color to get right. All and all I am very happy with the kit and how it turned out. Next on the bench is the 69' Daytona from HL in the metal tin.
I use Tamiya's acrylics, and have found that if I paint the yellow using flat yellow first, then use the gloss yellow I can get a very even color. Not sure if it's just me or not, but that sure works. Looking forward to seeing how that Daytona works out. I've been eyeballing that kit for a long time.
@grandpamarkshobbies I will try that next time! I'm used to doing military aircraft so paint doesn't have to be perfect 😅. I just recently got back into the hobby after 5 or 6 years and wanted to do cars. I am also my own worst critic.
Hey Mark. I had some tools in boxes from Amazon that were really in bad shape but no damage to the tools. Wasn't worth cryin' about though. A model kit with damage is a different story. Great unboxing! One of my friends had one. Black on black. He was a wrench so you were slammed back in those bench seats when he got on it. LOL He had a half dollar glued to the dash and dared you to grab it when he got on it. Nobody got that coin! LOL Thanks for the video. Another super job. Thanks

You've really been getting the business from Amazon lately. Another great kit choice. You always seem to be doing the same as I'm building at the time. From the Dart, then the '34 Pick-Up, the '49 Merc unboxing. Then the '32, the Firebird, and now I can't believe you pulled out a Road Runner! Do your decals have a good 'Road Runner Bird' on the side stripes, or like mine with a lame 'boiled chicken' /'goose' ?? Anyway, it's uncanny. You take care buddy, as always, and I'll catch ya next time.

Bummer on that box damage. Hope you can save the body, that window frame pretzel should test your patience. Hows the rear window trim surround definition ? It was pretty light on my build and wondering if Revell may have fixed that. Gotta love that ELO !
