I’ve ordered the MBA M1 16/512, can’t wait! Imo it is a better option than the Pro: cheaper, no touchbar, fanless (which means no moving parts that may cause problem over years, no dust and no noise) and wedge shaped, so its more comfortable to write many hours. Moreover, battery, display and performance are almost the same. If you need a better and professional machine you should wait the 14/16 MBP that will feature a new design and better performance :)

@@TheEverydayDad you're welcome
I really would love to know exactly how far it can be pushed before the fan kicks in, I want to get an M1 MacBook Pro but I’m leaning towards the Air M1 because it has no fan. I have a 2020 13inch with the 10th gen i7, and it’s really a great computer but I really hate when the fans kick in, I mainly do audio production so I hate to hear any fans kick in, especially if I have to record thru a mic and I’m close to my Mac.
Remember student discount and if you are from the UK and work for the NHS, you can get a blue light card discount on the macs.
Thats a good reminder!
How much would a blue light card get off? Is it the same 10% as the uni days or
@@AJ-dw9dk The blue light card discount gives you around 6% off on Mac and 2% off on iPad. I think it just revolves around how much you spend. The more expensive the product, the better the discount, the less expensive, the smaller the discount.
I've never used a macbook and the only thing I keep wondering, how do you clic and drag files with the touchbar? Does the m1 air really need an external mouse? Anyone here has used a macbook with the trackpad only? Is it that easy?
Depends on what you’re using the mac for. For school/day to day use, I’ve been using my 2015 macbook pro trackpad only for 6 years now and I never had any issues with it
@@mikezhu549 ok then that's good enough for me, thanks :) yeah use is intented for work/studies/browsing etc. No gaming on it
I still can’t decide! Do I get the 8gb MBA with 512GB or the base MBP model? For a $50 difference. Help?
Just got my refurbished M1 MacBook Pro , will it be better than my 2013 IMac? Let’s find out!!! 😁
I’m just hanging out for the m1z or m2 16 inch MacBook Pro. Glad these were a success, but seeing we can game on the m1. I’m hoping the new generation will be able to do everything even better
12:47 A point worth noting, I value my time a lot, balancing with the value of items, not the brands and companies to matter, I gotta explain this to my dad omg 😂😂😭
Any chance you would do a video on what TV you recommend for watching movies/playing video games?
I'm not much of a TV person, I've had the same one for years.
Ypu know what....your chanel is going to big someday.....
The 16 gb ram and 1TB ssd version of the M1 mackbook pro's price??? Can anybody tell me plz
Spec it out on the Apple website
Have you done a comparison video of the new macbook air and this one?
Are you a dad in real life too or it's just the channel's name, Ted?
Yup he is.
Love your videos! You're awesome!
I'm waiting for mine too be delivered. Won't come till the end of January 🙄
Same 😒
Same 🙄
Love my M1 13 Pro. I wish there was a more elegant way to deal with dongles and externals. That’s really my only complaint.
Yeah, it’s a bit of a hassle.
M1 macbook air for music production and video editing?
Gary, I might have missed it but have you addressed the concerns surrounding Big Sur’s security and privacy issues?
I love how in the beginning it shows that he has 10,000 unread emails 🤣
I just ordered mine yesterday 😬
You will NOT be disappointed. I just got mine in Space Gray, 16GB, 1TB spec. Great stuff for sure
Thats awesome!
Me too. Estimated delivery is Jan 11 🙄
@@123berno really I got feb 1
@@emiliogonzalez3214 damn 😅 that's like month. Not sure if it's due to demand or due the complexity in manufacturing of ARM as it has integrated memory
Loving your channel totally - you are impressively articulate, kudos to you. Subscribing right now… Cheers :-)
Will a 8gb of ram and 256gb ssd good to run Final Cut Pro ? I already have a 1tb ssd
at 3:06 you showed the sandisk ssd extreme portable and compare it to the internal storage drive of the macboon. I am not sure if this is a valid comparison in sense of read spead.
It seems the Apple Processors reset the Moore's Law timeline:)
Hi! I am planning to buy the Macbook Pro 16 (base) this week for doing software development and coding work. I like it because it's NICE and has a big screen. But, I am also looking at the M1 Macbook Pro 13 which I know is more powerful. But again I am stuck between the two, I know that it is a transition period and most of the software applications will be update during 2021 which I feel might be too late also I know that it's not as nice as the 16 inch. HELP!
If external memory is as good as the onboard memory why would you suggest getting 1T? That seems like the most unwise choice of all.
Mine arrives on jan 18
Can't wait!
so I recently took a work trip (I followed covid guidelines and got tested) I fully charge my computer and was able to last the whole 2 day trip plus 10 hour fights there and back with out plugging in my computer once.
Dell XPS 13"/15" are usually considered as comparable to the MBP line ups. Might be worth comparing them!
Got the base MBA for the mom dukes! No way she will appreciate it for what’s it’s worth, but she deserves more then her chromebook!
Nothing against chromebooks! Great product for the money. A Mac is just a greater value for the proportional amount.
7:35 NO 😢
Which color is he using in the video? silver or space gray?
It looks like space gray. Silver is a lot lighter :)
If I can figure it out, you can figure it out!
Hopefully we can all figure it out!
There is lot of hype that M1 13 inch is more powerfull then 16 inch
Is it true ?
Make video comparisons b/w macbook air m1 vs macbook pro 16”. (2019)
Great video! It really tempts me to trade my intel entry level 2020 MacBook Pro to M1.
I find that the fact you tore up the Mac charging brick packaging film at 4:32 is disturbing.
U say it isn't the most flashy of the new M1 computers? Isn't this the best and fastest one? I thought there was just Air and Pro 13".
