- Compact Microsound Processor is the porting of Microcell in Buchla format. If you've been following my videos for a while you might know that I use Microcell basically in every patch, every day.
But back to the main subject, CMP is the latest and perfected iteration of clouds from mutable instruments, with vastly extended capabilities.
It runs the SuperParasites firmware that combines 4 modded original algorithms from Emilie, 2 algos by Matthias Puech and 2 algos by Kammerl; giving this module a wide variety of sound processing, from granulator to shapeshifting filter banks.
Also CMP features virtual attenuverters per parameter.
EDIT: Unlike what I wrote on the video, CMP doesn't feature internal random modulation.
Who does feature it is Microcell with the latest firmware that also provides virtual attenuverters tho.
Sorry for the inaccurate info!
To me the sweetest update is the layout tho. I've been using microcell for the last 4 years or so and when I got the CMP it felt like a new instrument. I can reach every knob and slider with my hands and finding sweet spots is a lot easier.

So beautiful! 🧡
Thank you for the demo, and if I will ever enter the Buchla world, this will be one of the first additions
I understand that buchla has quite proibitive prices but it is a beautiful format with wonderful and unique modules
@@erekutoronikku Agree completely!
Yes! I want this thing so badly to accompany my Easel. I'm trying to hold out until Buchla releases the new Easel Case with keyboard and that extra 1u of space. What else do you have/use in the Buchla format?
Atm this system (wip) contains: 251e, 257e, 208C and the CMP. Oh, and the studio H wireless preset manager not properly a module but still very useful
