1979 CMP | Algo no. 8 | Spectral Clouds
Algo no. 8 is Spectral Clouds (by Kammerl)
This algo allows control over an FFT table, but basically it is a complex non-fixed filterbank.
It's possible to control the spectrum divisions (number of frequency bands) and the probability of these bands to be enabled/attenuated. More details in the video.

Just Friends is in SHAPE & CYCLE mode, basically 6 LFOs. Turning CURVE fully counterclockwise generates square LFOs, with RAMP defining the Pulse Width of the square wave. I have been a microcell user for ages, so I practiced the algos there. This form is very comfy tho

@@no_talking I had a little eurorack pod with temps utile, serge VCFQ and microcell (clouds). I can hear some VCFQ pings and the “pads”probably are the buchla processed by microcell. Can’t remember precisely :-)

Can’t recall exactly but look like I was using in to “ping” the channels of the QPLFO
Mostly, but probably there’s also some self patching both with triggers and cv from channel 4
This is a genius patch. Getting this much range and movement out of a system so small is really impressive
I'd love to know how you get those little bird critters. Are you routing the envelope generator to the pitch of one of the oscillators?

I need to spend more time studying my CMP! I printed out a sheet with all the layouts. Can’t remember them…
There were some errors in the sheets provided by 1979 as there’s really not much documentation online about these alt algos. I helped correcting them but there might still be some discrepancies. My advice is to focus on a single algorithm at the time and check the Matthias Puech parasites or kammerl documentation and taking some time with the module. I can help of course if you need just drop me a line on instagram

Very appealing interface design ... and what a lovely sound. Although I've played around with Supercell in VCV Rack I've somehow missed Resonestor ... now makes me want to get a Typhoon Clouds clone for my Eurorack :)
Yeah it is an interesting algorithm and not really known, there is really poor documentation on the web exception made for Matthias Puech Parasites website. I like this resonator because sometimes I can feel it’s made out of many comb filters and sending some clean signal feels like blowing into some kind of weird flute!

Sorry, I get no sense of what this module is really capable of from this demo.. sure, it sounds nice, but with all thes available algorithms, I would want to hear more of this modules potential; not sold on it...yet....
Demoing each algorithm extensively would take ages. Each algorithm is a module on its own, with MANY possible approaches. I’m just giving a snippet for each algorithm while explaining the basic principles. if you need more examples try looking for clouds extended iterations (like microcell, supercell, typhoon) that mount the “superparasites” firmware (as these are exactly the same algos)

Really glad to hear that :-) I’ll try my best to translate the script to Norns but the language is very different and I need time to learn Lua, to implement grid-crow-just friends-w/ and eventually clone the synth engine in supercollider so that only Norns and grid are required

Yes! I want this thing so badly to accompany my Easel. I'm trying to hold out until Buchla releases the new Easel Case with keyboard and that extra 1u of space. What else do you have/use in the Buchla format?
Atm this system (wip) contains: 251e, 257e, 208C and the CMP. Oh, and the studio H wireless preset manager not properly a module but still very useful
