After discovering this channel a few weeks ago I got my answer to one of the biggest pet peeves with the millions of stls thrusted upon us; design considerations. So many models out there are just mirrors of what already exists. But, take design into consideration can yield better form and function; it seems. I will probably never mass produce anything, however, I now have more tips, tricks and ideas in my tool box for better parts and printing results.

I'd be interested in content where people can send in their models and the problems they face and you would show where and how to fix them!

Great collection of product designs! Any chance you guys are working on a compliant mechanisms video?

@@slant3d Yup. I see it now. I had to walk away from the internet for a while after that music video. Glad it isn't all just working hard and PLA pellets over there though. 🙂

That "dyson" could use some cubic subdivision/progressive cubic...

Where is it called that? I've only seen it called adaptive or support cubic..

@16:20 very easy to push into the ground... as the demonstration hand is shaking trying to force it into the ground. I think its hard to beat a simple, cheap bamboo tee for pennies which is much thinner and easier to put into the ground since its literally a nail

Would you print PETG vs PLA for the pourover stand since it comes into contact with temps higher than 60C?

That blower wasn't designed for prolonged use. It's for inflating airbeds quickly that's all.

    Dyson is not mass-market?

My only concern with that fan is that it doesnt seem like air mattress pumps are typically designed to run for extended periods of time, and it seems like it would burn the motor out pretty quickly..(plus they're not exactly the quietest things :l); perhaps nowhere near as big of an issue as it seems, but I can't help but think of it.. that said, I wonder how much trouble it would be to design the fan to be able to insert just the motor into it without the existing shell 🤔

These designs are made to show design principles, they are not products.

No no no no no, don't try and go after coffee+ people. I don't know how rabid they may or may not be, but they love their little ciffe gadgets and preciaion coffe machines. By implying that some rinky dink 3d printed filter holder can replace a whole machine, you might ruffle some feathers. Lol.
