I want to use BOYA BY-M4C for Skype calls ... Do you think it is possible? I have a Focusrite solo with XLR female ... I plan to connect this mic to my Focusrite then to Skype during live calls ... Would that work? By the way, very informative video ... Keep up the good work!

The BY-M8C looks like a good, affordable option for those who have a limited budget. In your honest opinion, how would the BY-M8C compare to the Sennheiser & Sony equivalent? I do audio mixing for a TV show & we use the Sennheiser ME2 & MKE2 often, but for a wired microphone solution I'm considering getting some of these units since my budget is limited. Will they do the job for panel discussions going live on air (same type of work we use Sennheiser ME2 & MKE2 for)? I wanted to test & compare this model first, but the BOYA mics are not commonly known in South Africa & I will have to import them.
I am not a sound technitian and my ears are not that good; therefore it is difficult for me to be 100% sure about microphones sound quality. Anyway, ME2 is my favorite all around mic and it is definetly better imho. I keep BY-M8C as back-up set. It is robust and bit too large mic. But when I have to have "industrial"-like results with minimum of corrections in post, I always go to ME2 and cos 11. Honestly - I do not know any low priced HQ alternatives to well known mics... May be... Lapel Microphone JK MIC-J 044 for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitter (its pickup pattern known as very close to ME2, but not robust as ME2) with Senal PS-48B-35H Phantom Power Supply (from B&H) can be reasonable alternative?.. But it is just a suggestion. I WISH I did try them one day. BTW, I´ve also tested JPA lavalier mic from eBay (there were some positive feed-backs about them), but I was not realy satisfied with them... again just one more useful back-up system: vimeo.com/209570049

No, I did not use is for live shows. I HAVE to "industry standard" mics. I gave M4C to one school TV-studio, kids use it. I´d go for M8C, its sounds quality is much better. I found one Skype-Solo tutorial. Looks like it will do the job: th-cam.com/video/YmiSO0e_EaY/w-d-xo.html
