Thank you guys! Best podcast I've seen in a long time. God ( or whatever higher power you believe in ) bless you. Thanks Nick, Ken, and Rick for this eye-opening historical view of the making of Honky Dory. Bowie changed my life for the better when I was just a teenager in the early 70's. Plus I've seen Rick play with Yes on multiple occasiones. And Ken Scott is 1 of my favorite producers. It was great hearing all the cool stories from way back when. Please keep up the great work Nick.

The trumpet on 'Kooks' - listen to, 'Till the Morning Comes' by Neil Young. Bowie told the band to listen to 'After the Gold Rush'.
I think there is a proto-Glam vibe with 'Oh! You Pretty Things'...if you listen to 'All the Young Dudes'.
Bowie had heard the Velvet's 'Loaded' album on his first trip to New York. 'Queen Bitch' was probably inspired by that album inparticular.

Obviously this is available for free to watch here on TH-cam but there’s so much good stuff here - and important stuff, in terms of personal recollections of some of the most important moments in the history of recorded popular music - that Warners should have approached you in order to get this included on a Blu-ray in the Divine Symmetry box set.

That's a beautiful rendition of Life On Mars at the end - guitar arrangement and vocal both stunning! Who is it??

So, what is it that can be heard said at the end of 'Life On Mars'? I'm none the wiser even after Ken Scott's explanation here. He cut out Ronson's swearing, so what can we hear. Funny enough, I've always thought it sounded like Bowie saying 'can I have a glass of water'.
