It was one of the highlights of 2021, wwen I first heard Frida sing "I still have faith in you". Goosebumps, nostalgia, love.
Thanks for the ABBA. Another masterpiece added to their catalog of many. And a fitting one for the time. As a fan I'm very very proud of them.
in the unbelieve September 2 (2021) in a worldwide live stream two new ABBA songs have been known, both different in their themes and leading voices And both have the ABBA trademark on their solvency in musical composition and production
We know the great spirit of perfection that Björn and Benny impress on their creations, and both new creatures live up to their great successes of the 80s.
So the biggest mystery was to know the state of the voices of Agnetha and Frida and how they could react to the inevitable passing of the decades and their possible comparisons with previous classics.
And I must also say that they both look very good
And in that "look" there is an extraordinary job of caring for Björn and Benny to "take care" of their historical singers, partners and former partners. They gave them two wonderful songs, with beautiful melodies and deep lyrics, but they were also surrounded by the iconic hooks and the appeal to emotional nostalgia
"I still have faith in You" is an unpublished song in its conception in the history of ABBA
because it is self-referential about them as a group,
and it is also testimonial, because they tell us about their experiences in all this time
Musically it is a ballad with mystical and epic
A stately and majestic piano, and Frida's soft voice conducts and recreates ABBA's story with poignant beauty,
with Agnetha joining in some verses to emphasize
The sound of the drums arrives (a nod to the mega hit "Fernando") as if preparing the change of rhythm
And with a powerful guitar comes that first unpublished chorus, because this time all ABBA sings from the bowels of its history and with the strength of its testimony of life, of healing and togetherness.
And in the second chorus, even stronger, it becomes very clear that ABBA sings with the passion and courage that Björn's excellent lyrics stand out, it is like a triumphant song of their survival and their bond.
And it ends with a solo by Frida, flawless, with the flutes at the end
Also isn't a commercial song (more than 5 minutes) it's so emotional, with a fantastic vídeo of all greatest memories of pictures, official videos of 70s decade songs and Australia 1977 tour;
and in the last chorus could see ABBA until London 1979 tour, but gives time to the new ABBAtars of Themselfes, that will be at the concert in May 2022 at the new ABBA Arena in London

It definately has the old abba vibe, it reminded me a little bit of 'Fernando'. They have got the winning formula for writing good pop tunes, I guess this will help them make lots more money money money. Cheers!
It already has. It’s been out for 5 months already.
They were asked what was the best thing that came out of ABBA for them and Benny immediately answered, "Money". Not for the sake of greed or anything, but he elaborated that the money that came from their success allowed him to sit at his piano every day just coming up with new music, and he couldn't have asked for anything better out of life.
Voices are beautiful.

Such a cool video, love the ABBATARS
This is every bit as good as any of their older ballad type songs. Forty years have elapsed since they last released a studio album. 40 years!! That's hard to believe because they've never really gone away, what with Chess (not Abba, but Abba-esque at times), Abba Gold, Mamma Mia, Mamma Mia 2. I do think it's a very special song indeed, and you both had a little smile on your faces by the end of the song. Nicely done chaps.
THE VOICES WERE STILL GREAT WITH MATURITY, THE LYRICS SO IMPACTING AND THE WHOLE JOURNEY WAS NOSTALGIC. AND AFTER SO MUCH TIME, THIS WAS TRULY EPIC.

I know I'm a die hard metal head but ABBA is an exception. They just can't really go wrong. I must be getting old, and I don't give a sh!t. Even Chuey is content with this one, screw the critics! Nice pick Gents. Hey, I want one of them avatars of what I looked like in the '80s!

For me this is almost a bittersweet sound/song, with deffo a nostalgic almost gloomy field to it.
BUT, it actually gets better by every listen.
Remember, ABBA has always had a underdog quality to it.
In the 70'ies and 80'ies, it wasn't hip/in or popular to admit that you liked or listened to ABBA. It's the generations afterwards that's really lifted it, and 1st generation listener's become older and really don't give a flaming F*** about what others think of them liking ABBA. And among the critics, there were not many that admitted the genius of Bjørn and Benny. In later years, some music professors have in later years put ABBA alongside Beatles when it comes to writing and execution of the music. performance and vocally wise.
And ofc CHESS, MAMMA MIA - the musical and film(s) have had HUGE impact on the legacy of the ABBA phenomenon.
Guys, I'm sorry, my coment is not ABBA related, but since I've been following you for a while now and know you love reacting to good songs and performances I sugest you see and react to Måneskin's performance of CORALINE at Sanremo 2022 - it is their best performance ever in my opinion! We were all set to do a reaction to it on Friday when we recorded our last session and the link someone sent that was a good version had been blocked, we checked out others videos but they were very poor quality phone ones, so we decided to leave it to see if a better video came along.
It didn't feel right to use a poor quality video and not show them at their best.
We will keep checking to see if the good quality video comes back up.

Unmistakably Abba. Loved Waterloo and a few others but not sure why they got back together, can't have been for the money as I believe they owened all their own music. Maybe they got bored.
