    Sorry I missed the live feed. I was on then life happened and I jumped off... Great video. You two are fun. I totally relate to the introvert style. I love people and listening to life stories and sharing good times... But I always need lots of time by myself. I often think too much time by myself but I love it too. 🤔🙄

    Hi Mari, just found your channel a few weeks ago and binged on your PCT adventure!! I'm just hoping that we will see you doing the TA one day!! I've spent the month of Feb2020 near Wellington and there are a couple of great hikes you may be interested in checking out (you may already have explored them, but here it goes)... Remutaka Rail Trail - Fantastic 18kms, full of interesting tunnels, bridges and history. I did it as a one way trip and booked a shuttle to get back to the carpark. Another one is a circuit - Rangituhi/Colonial Knob Scenic Reserve in Porirua- Colonial Knob Walk, pretty interesting, it goes through some farmland and has great ocean views - DOCs website will give you all info. I hope to see videos of your day hikes around the Wellington area!! :)

    Stewart Island is fantastic! Take the little boat over to Ulva Island too when you’re there. There was a great trail over there through the forest. Saw lots of the birds of New Zealand all in one spot. The crayfish (lobster) there is the sweetest I’ve ever tasted.

    Kia ora.
    Great to have the North Island to explore. So many hikes to do. Waikaremoana is a good one but not my favorite. Recommend doing the steep section first.
    Front loaded packs are popular amongst a lot of hikers here in New Zealand, hey.
    Te Araroa is a really good option now. I wonder if it will be really busy. I'm hoping to do it it in sections myself so am not too fussed.
    I'd like to do more multi-day cyclng trails as well.
    Sailing would be great too. Do you have friends with a boat?
    All the best to you both.

    Don't worry Mari, you can plan a future and keep doing what you're doing. Finances are a less than inspiring part of life. Think about starting a travel company. I'm sure subscribers on this channel would be happy to support such a Business. I'm sure yourself and Nick would know how to plan an itenary for someone traveling around New Zealand! Don't stop creating and experiencing new things I believe in you!

    Interesting to hear of the sometimes cliquey and judgemental attitude on trail, but makes sense that that exists there too, as it does in the world beyond long hikes. Enjoyed both of your candid, authentic, and relaxed way of chatting here.

    OK Ms Johnson, here's an idea for a video..... Could you do a demo on how you make your animated maps? AND did you leave your Garmin on all day long for family to see where you are? And could you PLEASE give us a good link to Nicks pack website? I really want to get more info on it and where to buy one. Thanks and happy trails!!!!

    Greate livestream. 30:56 I hope you don't let your plans to save money for the future interfere your travel plans. Remember that very few people get old and die, wishing that they had worked harder and saved more money when they were young. On the other hand, quite a few older people regret not traveling and doing more when they were young and could do it. The important thing is to get all your bucket list items checked off , while you can. :)

    Is Marijuana prevalent on the trail?

    • @dylanwilliams7868
      @dylanwilliams7868 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I live on the west coast so I'll field this one. Yes. People have been using weed on the west coast of the US for thousands of years. It was made illegal 90 years ago but people never stopped and it was not really enforced by local authorities (they use it too). So, yes, anytime of day or night somewhere on the trail I'm sure there's someone using it. If I'm being honest I hope Nick and Mari were among them. Lol.

    • @dylanwilliams7868
      @dylanwilliams7868 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      She did. No weirdos and said she would do the trail by herself. International travelers should know the West Coast of the US is a very safe place for women to travel alone.
