hi
Could you pleaseeee do a video on analysing the handmaid’s tale?
Thank you so much for this! Will be using all these. Just had my first week of college and my English tutor recommended your videos to us!
Thank you so much! This is the only video I could find about English lang & lit A Level
Please make some revision videos on this a level, there is nothing on here for combined xx thank you xxx
I’m begging you to make more videos on A levels❤️
Much appreciative of this video, I am. Rather helpful. I actually need to go in depth revising for: handsmaid's tale and others you stated
Ethan Kirk I can always do a video on that - and thank you so much!!
@@MatildaSmiles No worries. I always appreciate when people use their own time accordingly to help others. Looking forward to that video!! Many thanks once again.
thank you... im doing the a level in a year so wish me luck
Is it easy?
@@babulkhan4474 hi?
@@babulkhan4474 nope, not easy
Where are you doing this? I want to do it too but I can’t find a place for it except for independent colleges hardly any schools do it. If it’s in London please tell me
And how did it go? Was it too hard or slightly manageable?
i’m doing this a level now but my teacher hasn’t given us any sheets and i’m so confused about essay structures😭
i am taking it as a private candidate
@@norahsalem156 how are u finding it? my teacher doesn’t teach us so im finding the Paris Anthology really hard😭
my teacher used to work at AQA as an invigilator so he got an exemplar essay for a paris anthology full mark answer its genuinely saving my grade rn
Hate this course tbh, I only did it because my school doesn't do pure literature or language. There's really no room in the time or anything in the mark scheme which remotely rewards insightful or analytical thinking. Half of the mark scheme (AO1) is just terminology to create a facade of nuance, and there is such a small amount that is covered on context that it's almost upsetting. All my Sons and The Handmaid's Tale are books which have been written as critiques of the status quo, bearing crucial contextual messages, of which are barely even covered in the course. AO2 does not award critical thinking, only very very basic secondary inferencing which I remember doing in KS2. Some people like the course because it's easy to stick to a structure and you don't need any creativity, but I find it beyond frustrating.
thanks for this video there are no other english lit lang vids on yt
I really struggled to find anything online too when I was doing my A Levels, I'm glad this helped xx
Hi all! I’ll renew the google drive help documents soon x apologies!
Hii, loved the video! I wanted to ask where I could access the google drive? Thank you!
Do you have a website or copy of the glossary I could have? I want to be proactive and learn some of the content in the summer before I start year 12😣
This was helpful, thank you!! X
Did u do edexcel alevel English last year
Can we get a link to your quizlet?
You’re so helpful and fun, you’re really pretty btw!! Thank you so much x
thanks for the advice, it was very helpful! also you have such a soothing quite voice :)
Many thanks for posting this. I'm trying to help my grandson with WJEC combined A level and there's nothing available - not even from the board.
Happy New Year!
where can I find the glossary you showed? xx
does anyone know if for the coursework you can use a translated book? i can only find information about the english literature course
I'm currently doing mine and you can use a book originally written in another language for example I was going to write about a book by isabel allende but you just have to specify that you read the English translated version and also maybe mention how the difference in translation in some phrases might change the effect on the reader or perspective etc.
All of this I could relate to and you're a sort. top stuff x
which voices text was used for the 2019 paper please answer this is v important
I’m begging you reply - what texts are in paper one? (I’m doing handmaids, Duffy and Paris - and for the life of me cannot remember what texts we get given. My exam is Tuesday lol)
do you have any revision notes left over my exam is in 3 months :((
Thank you so much for this video. It is really helpful as I am in year 12 at the moment. I am doing The Handmaid's Tale at the moment. What websites or resources helped you with the Handmaids Tale?
Hey, I also did Handmaid’s Tale :) maybe check this website www.sparknotes.com/
Or check www.massolit.io/subjects/english-literature
If you have your exam soon, good luck with it! If you already had it, I hope it went well 😌

omds im literally stuck in a rut cuz of this course its not even funny like I have A* A* for the other subjects and then this one is just a massive D since the beginning of year 12 🤦♀
really helpful :)
I've had the same (questionable) English Teacher for 4 years, every year, she tells the class "You should be reading, you should enjoy reading", but in the most stern, passive aggressive tone you've ever heard - Terrifying. But it was also because of her that I was put off reading in the first place...
I reckon English Lit students are the worst readers universally anyway...
