Just to add, its a Japanese belief that the moon goddess protects messages of love.
Hence everything else, all memories and written stuff are gone except the climax choke "i love you". People find it stupid that he didnt wrote his name, but if he were to write it, it will dissapear. But the "love" will never be forgotten. Mitsuha dont know his name but she remembers how much she was loved by this person and continued with her mission.
    Truly beautiful.

This also hints at Mitsuha being a little hypocrite.
She complains that Taki writing "I love you" wasn't useful for her remembering him, but she was going to do the same thing.
The stroke she begins with to write her "name" is not how you'd start any of the kanji in her name - but it _is_ how you'd start "I love you".
As for it being hinted at, the mark on Taki's hand doesn't disappear. Just like the "I love you" doesn't disappear. Because it's a message of love.

I wonder if it's possible Taki wrote both his name and "I love you" and only the latter remained?

Everybody screams at them when they pass each other by the stairs, but contextually they know they are being irrational chasing down -- as far as they know -- a complete stranger. They're definitely trying to not give off psycho vibes, hoping the other one will speak first.

I agree. By the time they’re at the stairs my tension is so high I’m not thinking about anything else but them getting together 😉

Thank you for watching the #1 movie in my book, not just anime, but any movie! The director, Makoto Shinkai, made 2 other movies after this; Weathering With You and Suzume. There are cameos of Mitsuha and Taki in the first movie, which takes place in Tokyo a few years after Your Name. Also, the band, Radwimps, does most of the songs in these movies and all of them are bangers! I cry every time I see the "I Love You" on Mitsuha's hand and at the very end when they meet! Lastly, the Red String Of Fate is a Japanese cultural myth that 2 souls can be bound through time and space and will always find each other...poetically romantic, huh?

The whole movie was amazing! The found love, then losing that love, and then finding it again got me right in my feels🥹

This is absolutely my favorite movie and I have seen a lot of reactions to it.
Right at the beginning of the film, we see both of them in Tokyo as adults, talking about how they feel there is something missing in their lives and they are always searching, but they don’t know if it’s a person or what.
We then see images of them together the same age during most of the movie, and for each, the other fades out but they still grow more - into adults.
I’ve seen a few reactors remember this during the movie, but I haven’t seen anyone remember once we learn the town has been destroyed and Taki goes back to try and save here.

Both Taki and Mitsuha make a brief appearance in the movie "Weathering With You" Well worth watching..along with "A Silent Voice"..which can be a tough watch at times because of the subject matter.

Yes. The film maker confirmed that when he had them cameo as a happily married couple in another film (Weathering with You) that takes place a couple of years on from the end of this one.

I don't know if you saw it because you have to have a certain version of the subtitles on .. but when Taki opened her hand .. It didn't say his name. It says I love you😢

    • @rissareactions
      @rissareactions  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Yes my subtitles showed I love you but I had to do so much transparency that it doesn't show very well. That scene killed me. 💔
