    Have to say husband is the best camping item. Multiple uses, whether putting roof up because I am vertically challenged, taking dog out to pee on freezing night and to fire starting and cooking. Well worth the investment.

    After 40 yrs of camping and caravanning we agree with everything you showed. The thermoelectric and jetboiler are game changers. Always used cast iron also.

      Brilliant mate thank you.
      Aren’t they just, they make everything that bit more comfortable. 👍
      You have to love a good cast iron pot, so many different things you can do with it.

    Thanks for the information 👍. I have been through 3 chairs, and I've now chosen to use a hiking chair and table to downsize how much a lug around. It's lightweight, and I find it extremely comfortable for a short person.

    Hubby has a Jetboil and absolute swears by it. He does adventure riding, motorcycle and bicycle, so compact and lightweight is a must.

    Black wolf folding Directors chair with attached side table, it folds up almost half the size of the other Director chairs ,along with the oztent stool (same as yours) I have not needed another chair in 8 years. People sometimes overlook how important a strong comfortable camp chair is but when camping you are in the chair more than you are not!.

    • @chasingdreamsau
      @chasingdreamsau  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah we do like the director chairs we did reach out to Oztent to find out where to buy their director chair but no reply so unfortunately we are trying another brand. Yeah a comfortable chair can make a great difference can’t it. Thanks again for sharing mate. 👍

    We've been travelling for near 25yrs and have probably bought as many chairs in that time. Take a look at the Drift Stockton Deluxe Reclining Chairs with headrest. Very, very light at 4kgs and canvas is a good seat material. They would have to be the most comfortable chairs we've owned, and even better coupled with a foot stool like what you have. On sale for 150 currently.

    Try the Helinox chairs - had mine for a decade now, robust and light, come in sizes that suit those of us that are bigger frames, and if any bits of them break they send spares out. My first one broke about six months ago when I fell onto it rather than sitting down, and I just ordered a spare part and it came about a week later. Australian brand - not cheap but well worth it - and they make small tables as well.

    We had an Oztent RV6, it was brilliant. By far the best tent we've ever had. Biggest mistake was selling it just after covid to buy a caravan.
    Now we've sold the caravan and are downsizing to a campervan.

    • @chasingdreamsau
      @chasingdreamsau  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is awesome. Isn’t it funny how we go around full circle and what we thought was best didn’t turn out to be. We have just done the same thing. Best of luck with getting the campervan.

      @chasingdreamsau I see so many youtubers dragging around what is essentially a small house. Lol
      In 1976-78 my sister and her friends went around Australia on motorbikes and a Kombi. They had all their gear in the Kombi and took turns either driving or riding. They had the bare minimum and I remember my sister rang my mum from a public phone box once a week to let her know she was still alive. Sometimes she was so broke she had to reverse the charges. Lol
      But she had the most amazing adventure with next to nothing.

    • @chasingdreamsau
      @chasingdreamsau  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah absolutely right and with the technology we have these days they are really a house on wheels.
      Wow what an adventure they would have had together sounds unreal. And I think that’s what everyone kind of needs to get back to it’s not what you own it’s the fact people are out there enjoying our incredible country the best way they see fit.

    I resinated with the chairs. Im 6ft9 so it has to be comfy, good height and high back. We travel compact so been using the Helinox Sunset x2 and a Helinoz chair zero and they are worth their exorbitant price tag.

    Great but re Jetboil! "Fire Maple" at half the price or "Kmart brand" at 1/4 the price all do the exact same job! I have used all 3 over the past 5 years and only one of them is expensive ! Take some advise choose the Kmart one first and buy a Fire Maple for a second if you need it,, Experts like to test side by side and time the boil in seconds but seconds are irrelevant to most. I would not camp without a Jetboil or rip off! Bonus "all " Kmart and fire Maple versions can hold the small gas cannister with stand and pan burner inside the pot when packed away Most Jetboils cant! Thought I would share :)

    1/ How do you lean back and relax with that chair? Sitting forward all the time isn't that comfortable?
    2/ Those two mosquito repellents work for midges?
    2b/ What are those mosquito repellents like around asthmatics?
    Cheers for now. r

      No that stool you see us sitting on it terrible for everyday use we are saying we would like to find a more comfortable compact chair.
      The repellent for memory doesn’t keep all midges away but I believe it has helped slowing them down at times.
      Madi and I have suffered with asthma over the years and have had no issues but that is our experience and couldn’t speak for others sorry.
      Cheers Robert 👍

    I try to avoid anything (Tent- Tent swag) that is seam sealed sil nylon or poly canvas. It falls off in just a few years and is impossible to repair as it needs to be iron on. I have wasted thousands of dollars on sleep systems. Because I'm buying for two to four people the waste of money is huge! Simple cotton canvas swag on a stitched stretcher is the only system that has not let me down.

    • @chasingdreamsau
      @chasingdreamsau  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We will be doing a final review in the coming month or so but at this stage. I really do like it I think if you don’t want to put a whole setup in the car and want something portable that you can take anywhere and run pretty much anything it is great for that. Personally I would still choose to go the setup in the car simply because it wasn’t that hard to install and more flexibility with it plus my biggest love of the one in the car is you can connect it to the alternator and get about 30amp charge whilst driving. Hope that helps mate.
