Man I remember the first time I heard Number Girl. I was like 9 and in the local music and video store. It was owned by an older Japanese couple and their son worked there. He was really cool and frequently played Japanese rock and rap in the shop. He always would tell people the band names too. This song still slaps as hard as it did then.

The shop closed a long time ago too, when I was in high school. I distinctly remember hearing a few Japanese hip-hop songs too. Microphone Pager is one I rediscovered years later and got really into.

I freaking love bands like this. It's sad we don't have many up & coming bands that have as raw a sound as most JPunk/JRock and grunge bands had back in the 1990s to early 2000s.
You should check out shoegaze and dream pop in the u.s. some of them had quite a raw sound. Go listen to dinosaur jr's album "you're living all over me". Every grunge band sounds like a watered down early dino jr. to me. Check out big bite from seattle if you want a newer band that has this kind of sound.
@@gogotrololo eh this song has its own merits. I personally prefer this to black coffee because this is faster and more emotional, in my opinion. music is subjective.

少し歳のいった人の言う、昔のバンドの方が良かったという言葉は、音楽の好みは10代半ばから後半あたりで固まってしまうかららしい。だから僕らも10年後には同じ言葉を口にしているかもしれない。それでも、年齢とかそんなことに関係なくこのバンドは、曲は、最強だと思う。
思春期の中2が大人への反抗にエクスタシーを覚え破壊的なロックをオカズにマスターベーションする。大人になっても、そういうのにノスタルジーを感じ大人になりきれない大人の鼓膜は反体制的なロックで揺さぶられる。
