Yes, I would have to agree with some of the comments on here and that is 170lbs. isn't light but I use it on a regular basis in my warmups for an exercise called the Push Press which is like the top half of a Clean 'n Jerk Lift. It takes a lot of dedication and consistency as I've worked up to 210lbs. at 56 years of age. ....but getting back to the '73 Superstars Competition - Weightlifting wasn't common back in those days in many of the sports at that time. Only in Football, Bodybuilding, Pro-Wrestling, etc. was it a normal form of exercise due to the nature of the aforementioned sports. That 170lbs. must have felt very heavy to those athletes in the '73 Superstars Competition (especially for the athletes in skilled sports).
Frazier was a great boxer, no doubt but this was not boxing so everyone should give credit due to the man whom won. Bob Seagren had great form. This also was not pole vaulting. So the comments amaze me. Each one of these guys were professionals in other areas and top notch. Each would fail miserably in the others field of expertise.
Of course. And Seagren even said, that he wouldn't want to get in the ring, with Frazier. Just as the commentator retorted about Joe not wishing to pole vault against Bob. This ought to be fairly obvious.
