I picked up one of these on prime day and I was shocked by the picture quality. I have an older Epson powerlite 760D that cost 4 times more and the PJ40 has a much better picture, though it's a little darker.
It's alright, that's always been an issue with every projector. Just be smart with it, turn it off when you're just sitting there with the Xbox on home screen.
Is there anyway to NOT have the bottom display info show up after each video? I’m using this for outdoor decorations, and a bunch of different short video clips play or I have them on repeat, the bottom display showing for about 12 seconds every time the video is over kind of ruins it.

How did you get the projector to recognize your usb drive? I can’t figure it out. I’ve tried multiple usb drives and I don’t know how to access the files on the drive from the projector.
I don't think so. I own this projector and it is fine in a light controlled room but would be almost completely washed out in daylight. You'll need at least 2000 ANSI lumens for that. This is around 600 lumens but the testing I've seen measure it closer to 500 ANSI lumens.

Neither of them are 4k. They are 1080p that accepts 4k signals

I have this unit though I'm not sure what you are referring to. Are you playing media from USB or HDMI?

you have to buy a fire tv becuase streaming companies wont let you mirror their content

Just recently used this with a 4 TB external HDD and was pleased that the projector was able to power the drive without issue.
