As a loyal Rustler owner and fan, I am also looking for some sort of update to the truck. If Traxxas is looking to keep the machine the same but change the look, then I would suggest incorporating the clip less body with wear guards on the roof such as on the new E-Revo. Now THAT would get me into the hobby shop for a new rustler for sure
I bought the arrma 1/10th body clips with the retainers. $5 for a set of 4 at hobby town. 9/64 is the drill bit to use for the holes. Did this for all 6 of my Traxxas vehicles.
My dad has the older body style (it’s a 2010 Rustler) I absolutely love the stadium trucks and monster trucks and I am planning on getting a Rustler soon! Keep going on the best RC brand in the world Traxxas!

I bought the VXL one, and looks awesome, and runs awesome. It's body is a green with a sparkly greyish black. Since it has tools, I will upgrade to the 70mph in the future.
Traxxas rustler was my first hobby grade rc when I was 10 still have it to day I thought about switching brands but just can't get over the parts support and customer service has helped me so much and they are Americans that talk to you on the phone so I can understand them very easily and they are very knowledgeable like the know everything about ever traxxas rc

My Parents Got me this for my birthday and I got it but let me warn you guys, it doesn't come with a battery or charger. Still, I'm pumped for when they come and I'm Super Excited to test it out!
When I was like 14 I begged my mom to get me a Rustler. We didn't have much money but one day she said ok...I spent several summers outside building tracks in my back yard. Great truck, biggest mistake was selling it in 2007.
The new body looks sick! Could you do this with the Stampede? Also what I would like to see from you guys is a Traxxas Stampede 4x4 VXL 2.0 with upgraded differentials and the x-maxx inspired body locking system. That would be awesome
Could make a new chassis for it and even make long wheelbase versions and change length and slap a street dragster body on it call the promod rustler series
Traxxas Rustler 2wd is probably the best starter car or the Traxxas slash but the Rustler is so much fun and if you are looking for more speed on a rustler a 3s lipo battery is the best.
The rock n roll brand new summit is EFFING Great!! I love it. When you put a 2s lipo in it it wakes up an flys. Still trying to figure out the way to run double lipos on both sides because the 2 connectors I got from traxxas are not fitting together for that scale 1/16
If u wanna make urs do a standing backflip on stock gearing raise the ride height up. trust me this works I did a clean standing backflip on stock (11/54) gearing.

Velineon VXL Rusty geared 39-76 running S1 SCT Tires gets 81MPH on the 6th pass!!! ;) Please don't change anything about this Rustler, I'm on my 8th VXL powered Rusty. The only one thing I would love to see, is race oriented parts. Then I could cut the Rug with it!!! ;)
Along with the other comments here Traxxas needs a rustler update like 4x4, different "trims" like the slash platinum and ultimate would be nice, or at least make the motor mid mounted for better weight distribution and make it more "race spec"
At least when redcat comes out with something new it’s not just a new body on a truck that still looks like it did 20 years ago. Traxxas needs to step it up.
Have you guys abandoned nitro? I get that brushless has a great foothold, but what about those of us that still love the smell and sound and realism of the nitro engine?

My axel shaft broke and the traxxas website was great because they sent the exact right tools and parts to fix it. Now it runs good as new!

Owned my rustler for 10 years no complains... Has been upgraded over time tho not the best out the box but with some TLC.... 💯 🙌 💪

For sure. I jumped my rustler VXL 15+ feet in the air full throttle about 40 times in one session and it was a tank!
